[Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
*Upon entering the tavern you find it to be rustic, dim, cramped, and smelling of spilled beer. Moving through the crowd, half of which seem to be deadtiming, you spot a fireplace with a banjowood carving on the mantle, you also make out through the haze the curving bar and private booths hidden behind ferns. A side door leading to a patio outside reveals a hungry looking dumpster mimic sneaking towards an unsuspecting customer.
Trog's is a single location that exists simultaneously in the cities of Town and Inside. Somehow. It's best not to question it.

"Oh. I'm sorry....I don't really think about it too much. I usually look like this..."
She's found that people find it easier to accept help from a little girl than what is essentially a mutant iguana with wings.
"Tiamat is widely accepted to be a source of great evil, and the greatest enemy to Lord Bahamut, so yes...they kind of hate each other I guess?"
Kara doesn't feel qualified to speak for how gods feel.

"Ooh, you play music?" The dryad eyes his lute. Instruments, one of many things she's yet to become familiar with. She's been in the Nexus for quite a while now, but there's just so much she hasn't seen.
Sakura picks up her chocolate milk and takes a gulp. She really likes the stuff. She pushes Reis' wine to him.
Repost for new thread.

Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"I suppose they could have a FoeYay thing going, but I'm not sure I want to think about that when it comes to dragon gods." Reinholdt admits.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"Clear!"
He brought down his hand onto the boy's chest.
Silly crazy kid.
A jolt
Would be felt in the kid's chest, this wouldn't harm him, but wake him up.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"Yes, I do." He replies with his customary grin. "I do it for a living, actually." He accepts the Wine, sipping it rather than gulping it. He takes a more sedate route to drinking than most.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Karaglen proceeds to look confused for a moment.
"...what's FoeYay?"
She's only a little girl, how should she know what that is?
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Reinholdt pauses. He thought, being a dragon, she'd have been plenty old enough to know this stuff.
"Umm... it's where they hate and love each other at the same time. It's a complicated thing."
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Sakura has went most her life eating little to no food. She doesn't need it. Not normally that is. She does enjoy her chocolate milk though. Not sure why she took such a liking to it. "Could you play something for me, maybe?" Sakura suggests after taking another gulp of her milk.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Karaglen undoubtedly understands the basic mechanics of mating, but doesn't appear familiar with the little side deviations of things like FoeYay.
She spends her study times figuring out new ways to help people, not how they acquired bed-fun.
"Um...kind of like a rivalry? I don't think it's like that..."
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Taking another sip of his wine, Reis smiles at her. It was a smile, rather than the cheeky grin that usually adorned his face. "Sure. What kind of music do you like?" He asks, unslinging his lute with one hand as he holds his wine with the other.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"I suppose it'd be like that. I dunno. I haven't exactly encountered the situation myself." Reinholdt shrugs.
"So what do you do as a cleric?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"Well, you can just play whatever you want. I just haven't heard much different music." She does have an mp3 player full of classic rock. :smalltongue: She's taking in what can be loosely defined as the Nexus' culture rather well.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"Okay..."
Karaglen's curious now. Maybe when her head feels less foggy she'll go look it up...
Meanwhile, the slightly more sane question!
"I mostly help out the less fortunate throughout the city. I give free meals and a little health-care...I sometimes work at temples, too, with whatever they need done."
She seems slightly less shy about this subject.
Probably because it's her life's calling and she feels overall, fairly happy with it.
Even enough to feel less confused right now.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"Anything I want?" He asks, still smiling as he puts down his wineglass. "Well, most of my music is self-written." He replies as he begins to strum the lute, tuning it slightly.
((And I do do the lyrics as well, I'll just take the time you use to reply to find my archive of songs.)
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Sakura settles in to listen, sipping at the milk now. Don't want it running out too quick.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Reinholdt smiles.
"That's good. I gotta envy that."
Helping people is nice!
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Reis hums to himself as he flickers his hands across the strings, seemingly getting in rhythm as he warms up. Pausing for a second, he flicks through the sheets of music before clipping the chosen piece of paper to the nearest surface, most likely the side of the bar.
The humming, having gone through the whole time to a steady beat before he begins singing. Both the music and the singing are intentionally low, as to not disturb the other patrons of the bar.
"Shadowed wind, hail from, the land from which you come..
Darkened sun, open wide, let the horses of light ride..
The new day dawns, the old away.
The brilliant sun no storm can stay.
Light up the future, let go the past,
Walk through destiny, but don't walk too fast."
He sings through the first verse, his grin never far from his face, as he approaches the second.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Karaglen gives a slightly more real smile, better than the nervous one she had produced earlier.
"No need for envy...I'm sure you have a very good purpose too..."
Because everyone has a purpose and they're all respectable, in some form.
As long as they're not evil purposes.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Reinholdt gives a sad 'heh'.
"I've never seen a temple to Bahamut in Inside. Do they have one here?" He asks, deftly deflecting the topic a little.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Sakura listens intently as he sings. She seems to really like it, and another verse too. Ooh. Her smile grows a bit.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"The clouds let trickles of light shine through.
Yes, the sun to warm both me and you.
Brilliant warmth, brilliant light
Keeps our life and gives us sight
Light up the future, let go the past,
Walk through destiny, but don't walk too fast."
Reis, bound in his music, dances his hands lithely across the strings.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Topic duly deflected.
If Kara notices, she doesn't seem to care.
Although...she probably just didn't notice.
She glances down at her holy symbol, fiddling with it a little.
"We don't really have temples of our own, really...we just do His will in the world on our own. I help out with other goodly faiths, from time to time, though."
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
A shame music doesn't leave a lot of room to respond. These posts are short. D= :smalltongue:
Sakura leans forward slightly, watching the movement of Reis' fingers over the strings. More milk sipping occurs.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
((Yeah, that I think is the one problem with music. >.>))
"A day, however, must come to an end,
The sun to dip below the world's bend.
The fading light, the dusks touch.
The darkness' creep, from bit to much.
Light up the future, let go the past,
Walk through destiny, but don't walk too fast."
Reis comes to a pause, then strums a few more notes before taking his hands off the strings and taking a gulp of the wine now. "I still need to write the fourth verse for 'Light of Day'." He comments idly.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
((It's most definitely interesting though. Not many people do that sort of thing.))
Sakura claps a couple times when he finishes, a grin lighting up her face. "That was really good. Kinda makes me wish I could do that." She has no experience with instruments what so ever. "How long have you been playing?"

"Do you need anything? A drink or a burger, perhaps?"
One of John's fingers become a claw in a small whirlwind of golden light. He removes the cap from the root beer and the claw disappeared. He then sipped his root beer.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
The the boy stares at the claw hand.
"How the heck do you expect me to believe you aren't with them if you keep pulling crap like that, huh?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
You should invite Reis into the band Ghar.
We could use an actual lyricist.

"Oh. I see." Reinholdt ponders a bit.
"So is the sword for self defense or do you actually hunt down evil with it?"
