Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
Inserted (almost) all of the suggestions. Thanks, everyone.
I'm going to have to go through and do more organizing at some point in the future as well.

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
Having just accidentally necro'd the thread about the acidborn shark (most likely via a link from this thread that I neglected to check), I just thought that I should mention that the answer to my question was no.
So he's not allowed to tell us about the material that was cut. WotC owns it and it will likely remain lost forever :(
I'd quote him, but it was in a PM asking me to be more careful not to necro threads (my bad!). I guess that may not qualify as a statement for this thread, but I thought that maybe other people would want to know the sad fate of that lost material.

He says it publicly right here

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
I believe the question OPM means is
Quote:
Are you allowed to briefly describe them and let us imagine them for ourselves? :)
And "no" is what I would have guessed the answer would be. WotC wants them to be a complete surprise if they ever do publish them, after all.

According to internet etiquette*, but shouldn't private messages be kept... private? No it doesn't qualify as thread material. That said, as FujinAkari showed, the same fact has been stated publically. I'm not sure it is notable enough to keep in the Index. I suspect most people don't ask about this issue - most probably don't even know about it.
*An oxymoron, I know. :smalltongue:

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
I don't know how to link to a specific comment but in the "This Comic is Barely About D and D anymore" Giant talks about going from gag-a-day to plot arc webcomic

For the comment permalink, just click the number on the top right of the post, like this.

I may have missed it, but I see nothing about Tsukiko's Amazing Wight-Making Spell in the index.

Giant's description on O Chul's Paladin story (at #9).

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
If you go to reddit.com and go to the Giant's user page (/user/RichBurlew), you'll see a lengthy comment on publishing philosophy. It also mentions SOPA. I'm not sure if it's acceptable to link it (mods could you advise?), but I'm sure one can find it without too much trouble.

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
It also features a commentary on otal sex.
(Or maybe otoan, I don't know how to use that prefix.)

It was obviously a reference to the webcomic Questionable Content. :smallamused:

Second reply could be a word by rich that he prefers videogame (source from another poster).

I've read it and thought about it and I'm not going to add it at the moment. Here's why: 1) The information is kinda redundant, as it is primarily addressed in the link about PDFs that we already have. If this gets brought up in discussions or whatever, we already have a link to point people to. 2) The SOPA stuff may be interesting but isn't really related to the strip. 3) Rich does use language that he admits he wouldn't allow on this forum. That comment wasn't intended for this forum, but to those on reddit. I'm like to stay on the safe side, so we probably are better off not linking to this comment.
If you feel otherwise feel free to let me know why and I will reconsider.

It also explains what morally justified threads are, which could be helpful for new forum goers.

I'd say the same for Belkar, yet we've got a post up there on him. Any official alignment probably does belong in the collection.

...? The fact that that thread exists shows that it isn't some dead giveaway. And the OP includes links for Belkar, Durkon, Tarquin, and the Linear Guild's alignments, which the strip doesn't leave for debate either, so why not Redcloak? :smallconfused:

The strip makes it clear that Belkar, Thog, and Tarquin are evil, too, but people are always trying to excuse them--even to the point where the Giant mocked them in the comic itself.
Basically, there's a certain segment of the Playground which will perversely argue the most implausible points of view until (and sometimes after) the Giant explicitly tells them that they're wrong. Nothing that isn't explicit in the comic (nor many things that are) is obvious enough that confirmation by the Giant isn't appropriate.

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
In comic 262, Haley used a piece of straw to pick the lock on the jail cell.
Also, here's a clarification that the boots that Haley had dyed to match her new outfit are the boots of speed.
