She'll be somewhere.
...Why the trash-heap? Is Kwen trash? :smallfrown:
"...Right." Priscilla took a breath, and carefully put her fingers in Dona's palm. When Kwen next blinked, they would both be gone.

Depends on Eniina, doesn't it?
Kwen sighed then, took a last look around, shrugged slightly, and also poofed away.

Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
Lellienth nods.
"So, why is it that females are seen as lesser?"
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
They're smaller and weaker...
Other than that I'm not sure, I've never seen anything wrong with them...
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
"That's strange... The tests to get into the houses require intelligence and strength, but most of the rest of your culture seems to emphasize only strength. Unless the duel to become alpha can be anything one chooses, so long as it's a contest with a clear winner?"
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
It's a one on one fight...
An ufit leader is usually dealt with by the houses and the packmates.
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
"Are there any laws against hiring someone else to challenge the alpha, and then abdicate in your favor if he wins?"
-----------
Karyana is looking for Civvy and Ori.
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
No, but the challenge fights are to the death, and if you are not fit to be in charge you are not likely to stay alive, packmates can see weakness, and would likely challenge such a leader quickly.
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
"Hm... You said that your species can see weakness in their packmates - is that magical, or just experience?"
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
We have common sense, it's not hard ot see when a leader is unfit...
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
She smiles at him apologetically.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to imply you didn't. I was just curious as to whether or not that was all that was going on.
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
It's fine. Our system is very self regulating in that way...
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
She nods.
"Why is it that you take slaves, other than to sell them?"
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
Personal use, food, mainly personal gain...
((Deadtime))

Vallasito is in the kitchen, cooking some pheasant on an open stove. A warm grin is visible across his face as he smells the delicious aroma of the bird being cooked.
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
Lellienth, who's sitting in the kitchen eating some sort of Abyssal/Nexus stir-fry, smiles, and says "Hello."

"Did you ever eat anyone?"
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
I... Didn't realize the severity of my actions, but I have.
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
She nods, looking thoughtful.
"Why?"
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
Because they are an easy source of food that can be sold and raised like your cattle...
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
"Except they're smarter, and thus more likely to cause problems.. Wouldn't it be easier to just raise normal livestock?"
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
Probably, but that is not the path my race has chosen...
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
Vallasito pulls the Pheasant out of the oven, cooked to perfection. With a quick spell he whispers the bird is cooled to where its edible without burning yourselves. He turns to the two at the table.
Either of you like some pheasant? This particular breed of pheasant is especially delectable this time of year.

And, when Vallasito offers them both pheasant, the scarred drowess says "I wouldn't mind trying some."
(Deadtime for tweny minutes or so.)

Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
Vallasito nods, slicing off some of the bird meat onto a plate, and handing it to the drowess.
Enjoy. By the way, my name is Vallasito Tyshougretu. And what is yours young lady.
Vallasito appears to be unfazed by the drowess' scarred appearance though he is a notably eyeing the scars with slight intrigue.

Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
I'm not sure... The scribes of my people would know... I do not...
I imagine it has something to do with our years as slaves...
-
Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
The scars are in the form of a spiderweb, and start just under her eyes, continuing down across the rest of her face and neck, eventually being hidden under her shirt.
"Lellienth Mizrym. And thank you."
Turning her gaze back to Gyhar, she says "You were slaves?"

Re: [NEXUS] HALO 165: Disturbing the Fishy Neighbors Since Forever
I wasn't the most attentive student, which is a shame considering that I'm one of the few that actually recirced a formal one... Let me think... Before we were what we are now we were just normal wolves, like the ones found on your earth... Our pack got changed when we were teleported to the abyss by a wizard. They became more demonic and... Some grand demon captured us... It saw our hunting capabilities and took us as slaves, we had to hunt souls for it I think... Over time we continued to change and we eventually became intelligent... Then we rose up I guess, and just did our own thing...
