"He was the saber-toothed tiger in that pack. He looks incredibly fierce but he's just a big puddy-tat." Jamie giggles. "Rub his belly and you'll be friends for life."
And follow Irene, they shall!

"He was the saber-toothed tiger in that pack. He looks incredibly fierce but he's just a big puddy-tat." Jamie giggles. "Rub his belly and you'll be friends for life."
And follow Irene, they shall!
{Mount ___________, Outside of NO.
((They really do need to name it.))
Irene will find her compass is pointing her toward the mountain that NO calls home.
[Mountain]
They really do.
"Hope you guys brought your hiking boots." Irene says, continuing to float. Float float.
[Mountain]
Damn, it's getting cold out here, Sophie complains. I'm not used to this climate.
[Mount Dipsnig?, Outside of NO]
Mikani, meanwhile, seems not to be noticing the cold despite her Magical Princess ensemble!
"It's more tropical where you are?" she asks Sophie.
While keeping an eye on Pearl to be sure she doesn't get cold.
{Mount Butterfield}
Sallianne's wings begin to slow, but she tosses some pixie dust over herself. After a moment, her wings begin to glow and orange/red, and then she's flying good again.
Pearl leaps at Mikani, shifting into an onion in mid-air, and tries to get caught by her. Wherever she lands, she's shivering. She'll be cold to the touch, and feel harder than usual.
---------------
Halfway up the mountain, the questers will find a cave. This is the direction the Irene's soul is pulling her.
[Mount Butterfield]
Jamie catches onion!Pearl, and pulls her under her vest, the better to help warm her friend up.
[Mount Butterfield]
"Guess I've got light duty." Irene says, lighting up her flaming sword and poking into the cave just a little.
{Mount Butterfield}
As Irene lights up the cave mouth, they can see a long dark passage that extends deep into the mountain. It has a slight decline at the beginning.
[Mount Butterfield]
Mikani, being careful not to squish Pearl inside her vest, leans to look around Irene and the others into the cave.
"Looks spooky."
[Mount Butterfield]
Irene gives Mikani this look. It's indescribable.
Before heading into the cave. "Come along then."
[Mount Butterfield]
Sophie tries to take the front as they enter the cavern, looking around all the while.
{Mount Butterfield}
For a while, the group sees nothing. But as they go deeper into the cave, they begin to notice paintings on the walls. Primitive paintings.
[Mount Butterfield]
Irene pauses a bit to examine some of the paintings.
"Do you think little cave princesses lived in here?" She asks Mikani.
[Mount Margarineplain]
Mikani follows behind Sophie and Irene, concerned for Pearl and keeping her eyes open, frowning as she spots the paintings.
...then sticking her tongue out very maturely at Irene's question.
"Heap big cave tribe, many mammoth, big club," she observes as she studies the paintings.
{Mount Butterfield}
Irene may notice that the figures in the paintings seem to bear a striking resemblance to Dipsnig and his kind.
As the go further down, one set of paintings looks to be telling a tale.
The first shows a meek and frail goblin. He's cowering from his fellow warriors, who are pointing and laughing at him.
The second shows the same goblin running from a pack of wolves, a spear clutched in his hands.
The third shows the goblin finding a cave. He looks gaunt and pale. His leg is twisted, and he's using his broken spear as a crutch.
The fourth shows him coming to a spring, kneeling down to drink a handful of water. There is a spirit rising up, but he seems unaware.
The fifth shows the goblin when he notices the wraith. There is fear in his eyes, and the wraith seems to be pointing at him. This painting is also painted in brighter colors than those of the past, making it seem to glow in comparison.
The sixth shows the goblin and the wraith merging. There is fear on the goblins face.
The seventh shows a new goblin. This one bold and strong. He's walking toward a village with a broken spear clutched in his hand.
The eighth shows the goblin with blood drenched features. He's standing over a pile of dead male goblins, with two female goblins chained at his feat.
The final painting shows the goblin returning to the cave, six female slaves following close behind.
[Mount Butterfield]
And now we know the origin of Dipsnig and NO! =O
"Gruesome. Don't worry. I'm sure whatever's living here is loooong dead."
Yup.
Nothing in this cave.
Irene floats on.
Mikani winces at the scenes.
And quietly follows along...
{Mount Butterfield}
Mikani might feel a tickle, as Pearl begins to wriggle about, trying to snuggle up to her.
Sallianne starts follows along, but stops. She looks back at Sophie. You coming?
[Mount Butterfield]
Mikani eeps a bit! Then smiles and adjusts her vest to help Pearl stay nice and warm, huggling her back!
[Mount Butterfield]
Coming, coming, Sophie says absent-mindedly as she studies the paintings. So... looks like there's a wraith here that possesses people. We'll need to be very careful.
[Mount Butterfield]
"Well did, anyways. If it took that goblin out to civilization and built its own little tribe or something, I wouldn't be surprised."
[Mount Butterfield]
"...maybe it's not a wraith."
Mikani speaks up after a few minutes' thought, frowning, and looking a bit uncomfortable as to what she is about to suggest.
"Do we know which, um, soul-fragment is supposed to be here?"
[Mount Butterfield]
"I don't know, but surely it hasn't been that long. I mean... the paintings must be old." Cause they're primitive! She's reasonably sure she doesn't have parts of her that want to subjugate goblins and stuff. Right?
[Mount Butterfield]
Sophie bites her lip. This is troubling, but we can't discount this possibility. Those paintings are pretty primitive... but maybe there is a tribe of stone-age goblins nearby.
{Mount Butterfield}
Sallianne flies over to the nearest painting and carefully touches it. Well, the paint's dry. But that doesn't mean it's old.
Irene's soul is telling her that the nearest soul piece is further down in the cave.
[Mount Butterfield]
"Thanks for the reassurance."
Irene grumbles, floating further into the cave.
[Mount Butterfield]
"Um, sorry...but it's something we need to be careful of..."
Mikani bites her lip. And hurries after Irene.
[Mount Butterfield]
"Yes, you've all made that clear, thank you." :smallmad:
Irene snaps at Mikani.
She doesn't particularly expect any further response after that, or perhaps doesn't want any and keeps floating further into the cave.
