I was going to let you choose. Animal Empathy or whatever the other one was.
*flips a coin*
The latter one. So the first one she picked up.
Irene is too incorporeal to be grabbed! Yay!

Mikani, meanwhile, takes a deep breath.
And wishes her teammates were here...
...but levels her wand at the slaves ordered to charge them, nontheless.
Those sensitive to magic in the area might sense the Druid Princess channeling Earth Magic, as her wand begins to glow green...
"Mai y bondiau y meddyliau yn cael eu torri - ond efallai tan hynny y bondiau y cnawd dyfu'n gryf!" Mikani shouts in Druidic, as a surge of magic passes through her, channeled through her wand - and Kudzu springs forth from the ground!
Quite possibly wrapping around the legs of the slaves who had risen.
Thankfully, it's not Dire Kudzu. So no thorns. Just clinging!
Spoiler"May the bonds of the minds be broken - but until then may the bonds of the flesh grow strong!
{Mount Butterfield}
The kudzu (what are these?) do grow from the ground, and begin to wrap themselves around the legs of the slaves. And though they are not Dire Kudzu, evidently the Kudza that grows here are still thorny, and they cut into their bare legs.
The slaves do not let this hinder them though, and they struggle to free themselves, and reach their intended victims.
Sallianne flies toward them and begins wacking them with the blunt part of her spear. Stop struggling, you idiots!
[Mount Butterfield]
((Kudzu :smallsmile: ))
Mikani gasps as she observes the vine growing with thorns. And concentrates her magic to attempt to make the thorns go away as well as entangle their attackers further!
[Mount Butterfield]
"I... I can't do it. Someone needs to stop him." And not her. She can stand by Mikani to make sure she doesn't end up getting hurt.

Sophie opens her mouth to say something, then closes it again. She steps forward and fixes her eyes on the goblin slavemaster, then begins radiating an aura. It will try to make the goblin percieve her as everything that is good and pure about humanity, and conversely everything that he, stealing souls and enslaving others, is not. If the mental compulsion succeeds, it will fill him with intense self-loathing.
{Mount Butterfield}
The Goblin is grinning madly as he absorbs Irene's first Soul Shard. [goblinoid]Ahhh, so there is more. He glares at Irene. [goblinoid]I shall collect the other from you, and then get the others.
((Please remember, so far, only Mikani/Jamie has been able to understand the goblins. Not sure if she can speak it back. :smallconfused:))
The Goblin Master glares hatefully at Sophie. [goblinoid]Kill her!! he yells out. And all the heads of the female goblins now face Sophie.
The ones already entangled begin to struggle harder, and though the thorns have disappeared, they are still struggling harder than anyone in their right mind would.
If Sophie continues to watch him, she can tell that her magic is working though. He staggers away from them, and decides to run away.
[Mount Butterfield]
Mikani doesn't trust her spoken Goblin not to have an ich bien ein Berliner moment.
...so instead, as the Chief Goblin turns to run, she drops to her knees!
...puts her hands to the ground...
...and attempts to will the earth before him to crack open into a pit for him to fall into!
Beads of sweat build on her face; of course, this means the Kudzu isn't actively grabbing anymore.
[Mount Butterfield]
Irene stays near Mikani for now, not understanding a thing except that she will protect the helpless little girl from anyone that approaches if she has to.
[Mount Butterfield]
Call them back! Sophie yells at the slavemaster, and her voice will sound commanding and strong to him. Give Irene's soul back, you filthy thief!
{Mount Butterfield}
The Goblin slaver will suddenly fall into Mikani's pit, and disappear. Aaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!
The female slaves stop attacking, and just stare dully at Mikani and Irene for a moment, and then they begin to cower before them. It doesn't take them long, before they bow down to the group, weaping.
But Irene's soul pieces do not return.
{Mount Butterfield}
"GAH! What did you just do Jamie?!" :smalleek: :smallmad:
They needed him here and preferably alive.
[Mount Butterfield]
Mikani stares in shock, wide-eyed!
"It...wasn't...supposed to be that deep...just a couple of feet to, to slow him down," the Magical Girl stammers. :smalleek:
[Mount Butterfield]
Sophie is silent, shocked. ...What now? She asks, feeling somewhat helpless.
{Mount Butterfield}
Sallianne flies over the heads of all the enslaved to the pit Mikani created. He's still alive!! she calls back to them, waving them over.
[Mount Butterfield]
Irene floats over to peak into the pit carefully.
"I, uh, don't suppose you want to surrender peacefully now?"
*peeeeer*
{Mount Butterfield}
The Goblin is cowering in a corner, his hands over his head. He pears through his fingers up at Irene and says something in Goblinoid. It sounds defiant.
[Mount Butterfield]
Mikani bites her lip, then walks over to the pit, puts on her best glower (she's learned from thebestworstGorram Tobias :smalltongue:) and glares down at the goblin!
{Mount Butterfield}
The goblin glares back up at her. It says to her things that are entirely improper for this forum.
[Mount Butterfield]
"So what do we have to do? Hug it until it relents?" :smallannoyed:
[Mount Butterfield]
Jamie, you speak a bit of Goblin, don't you? Maybe try telling the goblin all he has to do to get out of this hole is give Irene's soul back, Sophie suggests.
{Mount Butterfield}
At the sound of Sophie's voice, the goblin visibly begins to shake, and shrinks away from the direction her voice comes. [goblinoid]She lives? Keep her away from me! Kill her, my slaves!
But the slaves do not move.
[Mount Butterfield]
Mikani swallows.
"Well, I can try...he's super scared of you," she tells Sophie, before looking back to the goblin, and cleaing her throat.
[Goblin]"Slaves not of you more. Safe, give up what not you but her,"[/color] she says in broken Goblin - poining at Irene.
{Mount Butterfield}
The goblin growls at Mikani. [Goblinoid]You stupid! Get me out of here, and I will reward you properly.
Mikani may feel a compulsion to lower a rope to the Goblin and help free him.
[Mount Butterfield]
Jamie might well have lowered the rope. Mikani, however, is more resistant.
She does, however, fall quiet with an uncertain expression!
[Mount Butterfield]
So? What did he say? I take it he won't come up here willingly, Sophie says.
"He says that if we let him out he'll reward us," Mikani answers, frowning.
[Mount Butterfield]
"Only if he gives the soul pieces back." Irene says.
{Mount Butterfield}
The Goblin growls up at them. [goblinoid]The rope, stupid one! Help me, and I will reward you!
[Pit Butterfield]
Mikani looks back down at the goblin, and glares!
"Silent! Power first. Release then."
