I'll put two tickets aside, both in Serp's name. I can only get one complimentary ticket, so you'll have to work out paying between yourselves.

Well, ma’am, I don’t think much of the British soldier optometrist who wouldn’t ill-convenience himself to save a female in distress.
Serp: You'll get the reference on thurday

Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
Well, it was appreciated nonetheless :smalltongue:
As I have spent the last 2 hours waiting for the bus updating myself on my webcomics, finding out when I'll be in Leeds will have to wait 'til I'm back at my hotel.

I am the original Hamlet. Someone else will be playing the second Hamlet, who is created partway through the show by the fairies. (At least I think that's what happens, haven't seen a script yet)

Curly made me come here to look around. She thinks I'll maybe post, but jokes on her really. I'm dedicated to my stalking.

Aha! Another one! Quick, prepare the initiation room!

Dammit! Now I have no excuses.

I am the very model of the British Optometrist
Gathering the Playground, I'm very much completionist
I love Gilbert and Sullivan and many other musicals
I often sing their praises (while sometimes waxing lyrical)...,

Be grateful you're playing a standard-ish role, when I'm appearing on stage I usually get cast as something more technically challenging rather than needing masses of line learning... for example work with artificial heads (and arms- all on the same character), or just a mummy costume leaving me no means of using facial expression...

Heeeeeeey, it's you!
Hokay, so, all things going well, I'll be in Leeds at 4.51pm. I'm going with train, cuz it's more reliable and only costs about 10gbp more.

Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
Awesome. I'll swing by the station when I get off from work. It's a busy place but I can usually find car parking.
I sent you my phone number on a private message. Do you have a phone here? It'll help us co-ordinate.

I don't know if the title is actually indicative of the presence of Dickens references in the show, but I do know that it's our Director's take on G&S meets Hamlet with fairies and gender-bending. So, again, I thought this seemed right up Koorly's proverbial alley (As I've already mentioned to her whiel in Oxford), and if I'm inviting one Playgrounder, I may as well invite more. Dates I believe are going to be the 11th and 12th of June.
Oh, did I mention I'm playing Hamlet? I'm playing Hamlet.
...this sounds fun. Whereabouts is that?

Oh, cool. Don't worry about replying to my text, then (it's kinda expensive to text me, I believe, so best save it for important stuff).
Thanks Guy  I feel rude calling you "guy"...
Lix, are you in the UK?

Doesn't scan. The first two lines - and the last line - are all missing a syllable, and the stresses are in odd places.
ION, accommodation for Cardiff is sorted! I'm going!
-
Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
Awwww.....I didn't think it was too bad for a first effort. :smallfrown:
Really wish I could go to Cardiff and meet you all but it's looking a little unlikely at the moment, money wise.
-
Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
*Pages upon pages, rushing by. Up is being caught. There we go.*
I've been pretty offline for a while. Not that I'm not pretty online. Wink. Oh yeah, there's a smiley for that. :smallwink:
Long story short, broken laptop screen, directing Much Ado About Nothing, essays, first world problems. And now I'm back.
G&S related things - I really wish I could see Iolanthe, but Cornwall is chaining me down with her pasty and cider yoke (if it were yolk, I'd say she was doing it wrong... revolting images ahoy). I'm going to The Grand Duke though. :smallcool:
I am envious of Oxford meetinguppage, for time- and monays-based reasons attendance was far beyond my powers.
(However, if by any chance there are Playgrounders interested in FECCLES' Much Ado I'm more than willing to plug it extensively. Have an image created by yours truly to give you a taste of my directorial glory... :smallamused:)

Such is life. However, there will be a DVD made, so I can always rent you a copy...
As it is, Much Ado is in the middle of the exam period (again... Why must you go to a university that doesn't have the same terms as mine...) and as a result will not be attended my me...
I will be back in Sussex on the 10th April though...

It was decent enough for a first attempt. Certainly for a first attempt by a non-musician. I mean, one of our directors had similar issues with her version of it which she wrote for her Director's message in the programme.

Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
Curly told me you lot met up in Oxford a few days back. Thats like 4 train stops from here. Now I feel silly for not following the forums properly, like I did back in the day.
-
Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
Where are you, Onasuma? Come hang out in Leeds next week!
-
Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
Reading. So close to oxford, effectively 200,000,000,000 miles from leeds. What are the other areas still on your trip? Because if its the last chance, Ill actually cancle my plans and make my way up there. If something comes closer, Id rather not.

Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
Wait, Lix is in the UK?!
You are totally coming to the next meet up young lady. That's an order.

Well that is why I decided to follow the thread...

Been looking at feasibility of travel to Bradford.

Thursday, eh? OK, that works for me as well, so long as I can have a place to stay the night on a sofa or floor or something. Book me a ticket.
-
Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
Is that three ticket for you then :smalltongue:
I can put you up for a night - may even be able to provide a bed if you're lucky. Hopefully we have a working shower by that time too...
-
Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
No chance of me making this one at all.
'Twill be the day after my birthday, my dad's actual birthday, and I'm pretty sure I've been relegated to Saturday Shopper again.
Also Cornwall is a terribly long way away from Bradford.
-
Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
Serpentine is at mine now. Yay.
-
Re: UKitp 11 - Y'all should join us in the fun!
Looking at the train times and prices, I can just about pull off a trip to Leeds or Bradford on Thursday, as long as I can find somewhere to stay.
