Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Crash Site]
Instead of actually answering any of the questions the robot asks one in return as it seems to slowly focus on Kuko. "Uhh... that was some explosion... what are you?" It's doesn't sound particularly like an machine unlike the alarm.
Warning, damage sustained: Mana cells damaged, hull breach in cockpit, cloning facility offline.
More high-pitched then anything it sounds to belong to a person of the female gender. If robots would be able to have genders that is.
Kirk will see that the energy within the containers is swirling around like a fog, not moving in any particular direction. The black container seems empty and have probably contained a similar energy as the colored ones. Unlike the engine itself, they seem rather stable at the moment.

"I'm Kuko. I'm a minish. Your ship crashed a short distance from a mersen-airy clan called NO. Are you alright? We found two," he has to pause, not quite comfortable with saying it, especially since he presumes one of them might be a child, "gone. Is there any way we can help you."

Dipsnig, meanwhile, misses this undoubtedly adorable scene as he puts on a fur coat and goes to the crash site.
Thecla is thrilled to meet these new wolves. She's friendly and outgoing and she's eager to meet Viima's family. She waits for Viima to introduce her to the big male wolf and then greets him with all appropriate pomp and dignity. She knows she's the newcomer here.

[Beast Pens]
Kullervo gives Thecla a brief nod of his head and a twitch of his tail after Viima introduces her. He acknowledges her presence as his mate's friend. And since she's female as well, he doesn't see her as a potential challenger.
The two pups sit down, but their tails are still wagging. Their names, as given by Dipsnig, are Reeka and Butla.

Kirk turns away from the cells to look over the robot. "You didn't notce you crashed?" He says incredulously. "It doesn't matter. Were there more than two people in this ship?"
-
Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
Definitely not interested in challenging anyone. =P
After the niceties are over and she's accepted as Viima's friend. Her tail begins to wag and she yips twice to the two pups who've been curious about her and she'll exchange greetings with both of them and tell them her name.

"NO? Crashed? Minish?" The robot asks with an look around the room as it slowly get's up. "Success! Ha ha!" It exclaims triumphantly and turns to look at the cylinder while doing a little dance, basically ignoring the two. "Hmm... well, you could check the cloning facility while I fix the engine... except one of you should stay! I got questions! Loot of questions!" The robot states excitingly while happily waltzing over to the engine.
-
Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
Kuko looks to Kirk, unsure of what to make of the robot woman's jubilation. "Uh, do you know what a cloning facility is?" he asks. "All I know about that is that it's apparently offline."
-
Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Crash Site]
"It means someone's capable of making copies of them self." Kirk replies. He glances at the robot. "I for one will be looking there. You can stay with the robot if you want."
The drow raises his voice to address the robot. "What way to the cloning facility?"

"Oh! It's just down the ladder through the kitchen. You can't miss it!" The robot exclaims before starting pulling levelers and pushing buttons on the engine that slowly seem to calm down.
It then slowly backs away from it and appears to look at the machine in wonder. "Can hardly believe it worked...!" The robot says, clapping it's hands together in excitement.

[Meanwhile, In the Kitchen]
Karaglen is making a sandwich, with Morry sitting nearby, awaiting his piece of bacon.
She always slips him one or two, when she's in here. Just the way things are done!
Although...
The young wolf's ears twitch and he looks towards the exit. With a short bark, he bounds out, bee-lining for the Beast Pens.
Little Kara raises an eyebrow, slaps together a bit of her sandwich, then proceeds to follow.

Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Outside NO]
A tall, hooded figure slowly makes its way up the mountain path, its large wings carrying it easily over the rougher parts of the terrain. Behind it a vaguely humanoid patch of darkness floats, powered by supernatural locomotion.
Nalhriir grunts with satisfaction as he sees the NO stronghold loom before him. That half-elf in the bar hadn't been too specific with his directions. It just so happened that the door by which he left opened to this mountain trail...it seemed too convenient to be coincidence, so he had followed it. The half-elf had said that it was as cold as Stygia...it wasn't. He had been to Stygia, and this light breeze didn't faze him in the slightest.
As he rises over a slight crest, his familiar close behind, he pauses suddenly. In the distance a craft, the type of which he has never seen before, appears to have crash landed, gouging a large furrow down the mountainside. He wondered briefly from where in the multiverse it came, but he had more important business to attend to. With a short command to the creature behind him, Nalhriir rises a little higher and begins to fly towards the base's entrance at a faster pace, the creature easily keeping up.
He settles to earth again in front of the door and calls out to whoever may be inside. "Oi, open up. I've a business proposition fer yer higher-ups."

Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Crash Site]
The robot raises an finger in the air. "One second!" It exclaims in it's high pitched voice before grabbing hold of it's head and removing it. Of course, seeing there is a head underneath it, it turns out the robot turns out having been some sort of armor.
The voice does in fact belong to another goblin which looks remarkably similar to the one they found in the last room, just a bit older, appearing to be around thirty (if going by human standards). She have honeydew colored skin, two large floppy ears, the inner ears colored pink, red eyes, a rather small nose and a completely bald head.
"Phew, so tell me about this plane and don't leave any details out okay? Oh and speak really loud into this so I can record it." She declares as she points at some sort of button in her suit.
Meanwhile Kirk is climbing down a set of stairs only to find himself in a kitchen about the size of the last two rooms. Inside are a large number of kitchen cabinets at either side. There is a large fridge-like equipment which for some reason have cooking plates on top of it and at the bottom what looks like the door to a microwave oven.
On the red floor is cutlery of all shapes and sizes, Kirk might recognize the fork, the spoon, the knife and countless of sporks.
There are black spots all over the kitchen and stains that must be years old. The drow might note a large droid colored red and blue shaped like the combination of a tank and a humanoid currently busy trying to put back all the cutlery in their proper places.
There is also a closed door right next to the ladder.

Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Outside NO]
As usual when someone arrives, the door slides open silently. A voice calls out from the inside: Come in.
[Beast Pens]
The two pups jump up and down around Thecla. They haven't met any other wolves apart from their siblings and parents, so they're very excited indeed. With excited panting and wagging of tails they ask Thecla if she wants to play.
When Viima smells Morry approach, she gives a short bark. Four pairs of paws can be heard in the distance after she does that, as the final two pups approach.

Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Beast Pens]
It's a regular family reunion.
Not that that's horribly weird, but it always feels like it's been forever, when mom or the others return from trips.
So Morsecuri is just excited as ever to run in and say hi!
Oooh, and a new friend is just a bonus!
Obviously mother-Viima will get first dibs on greetings, but Thecla can expect more pup attention shortly.
Eventually Karaglen will appear.
She's being a little lazy while she eats her sandwich.
-
Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Beast Pens]
So much attention! Thecla happily greets all of them. Introducing herself and jumping around, wriggling all over and wagging her tail. She's more than happy to join in some chasing games, stalking games and whatever else they can think up. It's plain to Thecla that Viima and her mate are excellent parents.
-
Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Beast Pens]
The two pups are very happy to be joined by Morry and even happier when Thecla agrees to play with them. Then, two more cubs are added the scene - one male and one female. They come running at their mother's call and are extremely excited to see another wolf there. More greetings! This place is positively drowning in fuzzines now.
Kullervo and Viima sit back, letting their pups familiarize themselves with Thecla.
-
Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Beast Pens]
If anyone is allergic to adorable, they should leave the premises immediately.
Meanwhile, the prospect of games looms! Morry hasn't played games in forever!
Or in about ten minutes!
Which is the exact same thing!
Clearly this calls for some pouncing on Thecla. Maybe get all the siblings in on it.
-
Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
Beast Pens
Thecla is ecstatic! She'll roll over and over, practically inviting them to pile on. She's debating whether or not they'd find it amusing if she 'ported out from under the pile to the top. But, she doesn't know them well enough yet. So, she yips, howls, wags her tail and plays the games. She's having an absolutely wonderful time and she has a wolffish grin plastered all over her muzzle!
-
Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Beast Pens]
The pups will waste no time to join their brother in pouncing on Thecla. Soon she'll be placed under a pile of young wolves. Much wriggling and wrestling occurs. A thoroughly adorable scene.
-
Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Beast Pens]
Whoever had the idea that these could all be vicious, bloodthirsty animals is clearly horribly delusional.
Morry's not even doing little nips as he proceeds to play, being surprisingly gentle in his competitive bids to be at the top of the fluff pile.
Thecla and his siblings shall be his squirmy throne!
Much yipping and cheerful barking is had, whilst he works his way up.
Meanwhile, Karaglen slips into the Pens finally, biting away the rest of her sandwich to better observe.

As the door opens, Nalhriir draws himself up and beckons the creature behind him closer. He pauses as he invokes the magic that is inherent to his very soul, before stepping through the entranceway of the mercenary stronghold.

"Ehh? Uh, I'm not exactly an expert on the Nexus, but I know a little," Kuko says, a bit flummoxed by her attitude. "This is the Nexus. I was taught that it's sort of like a lake bed for all worlds. 'Sediment' from other worlds settles here, so it's got a little bit from everywhere. A lot of stuff might seems super familiar, and a lot of stuff might be completely off the wall. All religions and mythologies are true, unless they're fake, in which case they're only probably true. There's magic and amazing technology!~" He gives a happy sigh. Technology is so awesome. Ooh! Wait! "Is cloning technology? Is that why you aren't worried about your friends?"

Kirk surveys the kitchen. Another robot, eh? "Are you intelligent, or should I just carry on?" He asks. He might just do so anyway, though.

Re: [Nexus] NO XIII: Do Clockwork Penguins Dream of Mechanical Fish?
[Crash Site]
The goblin seems to focus on Kuko very intensely as he talks about the nexus, slowly leaning closer to him during his exposition. As he finishes she gives away a shrill giggle. "Friends? Nonono, they were me, or I were them. They were modified for different types of work. I'm the engineer clone and they were the pilot clone and the young clone. I'm probably going to make a new me now that I'm at this awesome place!" She exclaims before looking around the room in confusion. "Waaait, where did that elf boy go?"
Meanwhile the 'elf boy' is facing a robot which turns it's head towards him and quickly seems to be looking him over. "Oh. Gods. Are you the lost Blues Brother, or the Lovechild of Crocodile Dundee and one of the Men in Black? I hope your mother made you wear that or this would just be sad. Well, sadder." It suddenly says in a monotone emotionless voice before grabbing a broom nearby which it will attempt to poke the drow with.

They're all her? That's... A relief? It certainly doesn't feel like it. It feels like she's making light of their deaths, bit he doesn't know anything about cloning. Speaking of which, "To the cloning facility," Kuko answers. "Through the kitchen like you told him." She seemed to be rather forgetful.

Kirk raises an eyebrow at the robot. "Aren't you pleasant." He looks past it and toward the next door. "If you don't mind, I'll leave you to your work and be on my way." He doesn't bother to wait for a response as he heads toward the cloning facilities.
