So I accidentally gained about 8 levels last night (going from 16 to 24), all from Smithing. I had about 20 ranks in it, and wanted to level it up and make some money, so I clear out a dwarven ruin of its stuff, smelt it all down and start making things. I shot up to 100 in seconds. It was very weird. I wish I could grind other skills that fast.
When it's a personality cult. Honestly, it doesn't instantly end the Stormcloaks, but with recruiting cut down to far smaller numbers on the SC side, and diehard SC members being fatalistic about thier rebellion, it's not going to last very long. There was no structure prepared for the death of Ulfric.

Skyrim- Brynjolf
Right, so I just found out that as of the 1.6 update, I will be able to play a proper paladin, riding around and slaying dragons from horseback.
Am I the only one who sees Brynjolf and thinks of Sean Bean playing Boromir?
Impossible. Brynjolf survives the storyline of Skyrim. Therefore, he cannot be Sean Bean.
Sean Bean dies, you see.
Sean Bean always dies.
Yes, yes he does
Er, spoilers... I guess
I've seen some mods making joining the Forsworn possible, which is cool. I like having the option to join the opposing force.
However, have their been any mods expanding the 'Destroy the Dark Brotherhood!' questline? Personally, I think it's terrible. For one, you have to kill an old woman (okay, she's evil, but it's still a defenceless old woman) to do it, which isn't really the good-guy-slaying-evil I'd hope for.
Also: Has anyone heard of mods to crush the Thieves' Guild? I tried killing Brynjolf, but he seemed more than a little invincible. I hate that Blackbriar woman and her cronies, and want to bring order to Riften, dammit!
How about joining that faction that are hunting down Daedra worshippers? The ones that lost a guy in Molag Bal's house of horrors?
If I'm not mistaken, there are no such mods.

I disagree. Khajiit are superior assassins, because of their claws and stealthiness.
Argonians are superior thieves, because they can dive into the water to escape easily.
I don't know, after they mentioned Sean Bean dying in everything, I decided to go kill Brynjolf and it worked.
That would be the "No Essential NPC's" mod at work I'm guessing.
I was frustrated by that, too. I went to Riften and heard about all of the crime, the corruption, etc.. I was all intrigued, hoping to go about saving the town. Only to learn that Maven Black-Briar and most of the Thieves' Guild members are all invincible, and cannot be killed.
Even worse, if you side with the Stormcloaks, Maven becomes the new Jarl of Riften. But if you side with the Imperials, the current Jarl keeps her seat, but she continues to be unwittingly manipulated by Maven anyway. So no matter what you do, Maven wins.
I hate that woman.
Don't the Imperials install Maven as the new Jarl?
I'm genuinely surprised there's not a mod to make a quest of that sort.
I actually agree that Argonians slightly lean more toward being Assassins than Thieves, but only just. Certainly they've got the most story-related ties to the Dark Brotherhood and Shadowscales. Khajiit, I feel, are equally balanced between the two, being quick and jumpy and powerful in a fight. But if we're talking about which race is the "purest" thief, I'd actually say that's a Wood Elf! They're best with the bow (definitely the thieviest weapon) and at all the thief-related skills, but not designed for combat otherwise.
The reason my Thief was Argonian, however, was that she's the most appropriate race for a criminal, since in Skyrim, Argonians are hands-down the most despised race. Elves of various sorts are hated by the Stormcloaks but liked by Imperial supporters and run many businesses around Skyrim; the Khajiit are mistrusted but grudgingly respected as shrewd traders and negotiators. It's the lizards who get the shortest end of the shortest stick, so I reasoned they had the most reason to become an unapolagetic thief.
It's actually the reason why I suspect that Elder Scrolls VI will be based in Argonia, considering how neglected their race is in this game. Their society is on the rise at the moment despite being mistreated, and they might be the ones to finally take down the Thalmor if the humans are too weakened by civil war to stop them.
I was actually thinking about cool it would be if the really BIG DLC for Skyrim was a continuation of the "The Thalmor Can Kiss Our Collective Asses" storyline where you cross the border into Morrowind and negotiate with the Argonians to rejoin the Empire.
On Briarhearts: What's really funny, is that you can have Assassins sicced on you for stealing. Even if the only thing that you ever stole was a Briarheart. Thus the dead body put a hit out on you.
Of course, someone suggested that the contract is simply on the person that stole the briar heart, but it's funnier the other way.
Blackmarsh is the Argonian homeland.
My Argonians have always been Thieves. My first Khajiit was a Thief and a Mage. My second was a Thief/Assassin. That was the one that did the Master Criminal Achievement.
Hilarity ensues: A Khajiit Thief, only allowed to arm with what can be stolen. So weapons, and clothing. Of course if you're a good pick pocketer, you can rob everyone and get to 100 Pickpocket pretty fast.
