Day 568: The Girl And The Giant, p1
"Once upon a time, there was a giant. The giant was a peaceful creature, and he loved the stars. He would walk across the land in search of a place to stand and watch the heavens. When he fell into contemplation, he would be silent and still in rapture for years. Decades. Centuries. Longer.
"A tribe of humans overcame their fear and settled at the feet of the giant, and built around him, and scaled his heights and built a great city atop his mighty shoulders. Still, the giant did not stir. Peace came to the land..."
I've decided to break a habit of mine: Trying to finish everything in a single day. I intend to spend at least a week working on this one piece, maybe more. I want to get into a single piece in detail and in depth, make small daily tweaks and think about it in the intrem.

Day 569: The Girl and the Giant, p2
"The giant had stood so still for so long hills had formed around him, and his ancient footsteps had formed a lake. The human tribe had climbed to the top of his mighty head and built an observatory there, so they might see what he saw. They charted the course of the sky that so fascinated the giant, and learned the magic of the stars.
"But nothing is eternal, and after ten thousand years of slumber the giant began to stir from his repose. So vast was he that he did not even notice the humans who had built on and around him. The slow quickening of his mighty heart sent earthquakes through the human city, causing some of the delicate towers to fall from the sky..."
Not happy with that one star cluster yet. It draws the eye too much to it and seems sort of out of place, but I think there's still a place for it or something like it. I'll work something out.
Otherwise quite happy with how the sky is starting to shape up, though there's some dead areas I want to fill in subtly and a few blur lines to smooth away.

There's the problem with it. You made it too large and too luminous.
It's also at the corner of what amounts to a giant rectangle in the sky with those three bright stars.

Oh! I see what you mean, and you're right it's a weirdly geometric shape that shouldn't be there. I'll pull some things around. Thanks!

...nay-sayers should remember not to criticize the cuisine before it's served. It takes time to make good art. Time as in days.
Thus, no thoughts about the in-progress project.

I actually would prefer it if any flaws or issues were pointed out before I spent 16 hours painting it wrong. A stitch in time saves nine and all that.

I was merely commenting from a perspective of Astronomy. A star cluster that appears that large in the sky must either be unimaginably large or extremely close. Both highly unlikely.
And the rectangle, akin more to a parallelogram, is just statistically unlikely, as well as being a bit jarring. Though it does help to draw attention to most important part of the picture.

Hmm, in this spirit then, I'd point out that the building on the lower right seems to have some perspective issues. Probably something you'd catch in the work-over, but I thought I should bring it up. Other than that (and known issues with the sky) I think it's shaping up quite well; the color blending is the sky is particularly nice.

I decided to quickly produce some pictures of a similar theme for my Skyscraper Graveyard game. I actually did about 10 of these this evening but I'll leave most of them for the game. For now, have a diagram of Errant's soul.

Rest assured something terrible is going to happen to that building.

Day 570: Victory
Pen and paper sidetrack! Propaganda posters for our Exalted game.
This session we basically gathered every single human being who could march and hold a sword, destroyed the culture we spent 15 sessions trying to defend, and put down a God who'd been our ally for 30. We basically reached the point where, "Yep, this is total war for the fate of Creation, and we can't afford nice things like morality."
All that was left was victory.

( nerble ) ...semantics of politeness disguising meaning. Bother.
What I should have said is, "It's pretty rare ( for me ) to see an on-duty corporate person wearing clothing which is left hanging, open, not buttoned, and / or not cinched."
...of course, I avoid off-duty social situations with corporate persons any-way. I have...reasons. Ethnicity doesn't matter.

Day 571: The Girl and the Giant, p3
"The people of the tribe had gathered together, cast the signs and auguries and hailed the spirits of the world for aid. The spirits mustered their power to protect the people.
First, Fire came, and burned against the giant's mighty legs and eyes. The skin of the giant was not singed, for he had walked through molten lava at the building of the world.
Metal came next, in the hands of craftsmen and warriors, and fell upon the giant in mighty blows. But metal was weaker than the pressure the giant's own weight put upon his own bones, and the tools broke against him.
Then came Air, smashing against the giant in a terrible hurricane. But the giant had stood unbowed and immobile against aeons of storms and did not even notice the violence..."
Ground is hard. I'm starting to figure out a form I like though.

"With the elements failed and broken at the feet of the giant, the tribe began to prepare for the end. Some rioted, some prayed, some spent time with their families and said good-bye. All gave themselves over to despair..."
