the ram... her... :smalleek: Ewe fail animal husbandry!!
On a more serious note, how is that going to help anything? They have nothing big enough to be effective at short range without causing massive collateral damage. All opening the gate in would accomplish is giving the ram a chance to run amok in town.

Assuming they could close it fast enough. Assuming the ram doesn't just go berzerk, or hang back so that other troops could rush in. Assuming it isn't booby-trapped in some other way besides being a large animal that is bred for destructive purposes. Which of course means it's the perfect plan. :smallamused:

Her? Isn't a ram a male goat?
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Is anybody actually worried?
Just whip out another ultra laser like before Agatha. You made 1 before: The second one must take even less effort. Maybe even less if on a lower setting
It could destroy the whole army.

No, a ram is male sheep. A male goat is a buck. Ewe fail animal husbandry, too :smallwink:

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Why does everyone want to kill the ram? I think he's marvelous! Agatha needs him as her personal mount so she can ride him straight at her enemies and slam into them at high speed while spraying them with death rays from his back!
(singing) "No one could make that ram, scram, he kept butting that dam. 'Cause he had... HIGH HOPES!"
And I see lightning crackling in the background. If Gil's lightning generators are back on line...

It's also raining, so it's probably just a storm. If there is such thing in Mechanicsburg as "just a storm".

If the Kestle needs a spark, go old skool and Frankenstein up on that bolt.

Oooohhh...
Bring on the lightning! We'll build a monster for fun!
Bring on the lightning! We'll set him loose when we're done!
It's very frightening! Watch how the villagers run!
So pull the switch and catch the lightning 'fore the storm is done!

If it's already in good conditions for lightning, perhaps Gil's control wand could be used to trigger and guide those natural strokes? Or at least the generators would not have to be repaired to full capacity to work, since they aren't starting from nothing- they only have to put enough charge in the air to develop a path for the bolt to come out of the storm.
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
:smallcool: Or maybe the storm is actually being cooked up by Der Kestle, and the forthcoming the bolt of lightning is the spark it's babbling about.

Yes, if Gil can pull several bolts out of a clear sky, imagine what Agatha could do using the same technology if there's ALREADY a major electrical imbalance between earth and sky!

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
I have to wonder if the Baron's forces are attacking ineffectively because the Baron has been given nebulous/generic orders and is subverting them by carrying them out via his own interpretation (ie. poorly).
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Abattoir = slaughterhouse. I can see why she wants that hand removed.
The army DOES look pretty messed up, though.

Thats my guess. This is how the baron is fighting her control over him. By being as sloppy as he can get away with. On one level its useful for trying to keep from achieving the others goals, on another level its like he is waving flags and setting off rockets that explode into giant, "I AM NOT MYSELF!" signs for his people to hopefully spot.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Yeah. Klaus can't disobey her orders, but he's not actually loyal to her.
The Jaeger thinks it looks like what happens when the boss dies, but i don't think that's it, because Klaus is still very much alive.
Remember how each and every one of the "Specialists" Klaus sent into the city believed that they had been hand-picked for a very special mission. They Failed, so Lucy tells him to deploy his regular troops.
He gives each commander contradictory orders, and tells each one that he has elected them, personally, for this very important task.
Perhaps he even gave each one a "Secret Mission", ordering them not to tell anybody else about it.
Puffed up with their own importance, each commander arrives and finds themselves faced with countless OTHER commanders, all of whom have equally inflated heads.
Meanwhile, Boris and others should be realizing that something is very, very wrong.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Or possibly being spark-wasped removes a Spark's sparkiness, undso Klaus has been reduced to mundane creativity. He may not be being willfully incompetent, but unaware of being wasped, as people ordinarily are, and just incompetent as a side effect.

He knows he's been wasped. He recognized Lucrezia when she wasped him (at the climax of the Sturmhalten arc), and she ordered "Silence!" when he was about to expose her (directly afterwards), at which point he shut up.

He is very much aware of being wasped: remember the Storm King story he told - it was a message for Gilgamesh saying exactly this and instructing Gil to strike Klaus down.

Since what he wants is to talk, he can fight his own brain chemistry to make it so, strengthened by the need for him to speak to maintain the alliance 'ordered' to him by his controller, and further enhanced by the need to speak if it is to remain civil. A stretch? Certainly. But this is a spark. Stretching reality is part of their schtick, after all. I suspect regular slaver wasps don't work on sparks precisely because their brains are so outside normal reality anyway.
He doesn't talk until the next page because he needs to keep the element of surprise, of course.

Did Tavrek just offer to chop and channel the death armor, then paint it green for Agatha?
If that ain't true love I don't know what is...

Nope, sounds like he wants to deisgn and build a whole new suit.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Why does everyone want to kill the ram? Feed him some hay, find him a giant ewe, he'll come over to Agatha's side.
Tarvek going out in the armor might not be good for him. If Klaus' forces know about it, and are primed to grab or blast Agatha the moment she appears, Tarvek may find himself being kidnapped or shot at again. Better him than Agatha, but still...

Which brings up the interesting question: If all available power sources have been diverted to the Castle, what did Tarvek use to "recharge Gil's lightning stick?"
