Run, Forrest, run!
I'm glad the orc dodged the Witch finger. Very much a desperation tactic on the Viper Prince's part given how long they take to act.
Biscuit and Grem are the names you were looking for, and yes Grem is definitely desperate right now. He might be the best warrior from the most powerful living goblin clan, But he's up against an orc from the mightiest clan that ever lived. There's a clear disparity in power levels there, even if Biscuit was from an average orc clan he'd still be a decent match for a skilled goblin, in a 1 vs. 1.
You make enough enemies, eventually they'll team up to put you down, no matter how much they happen to hate each other. Maybe they put together some strike teams and did guerrilla raids against his clan. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that they had to slowly pick them off one by one through simple attrition.
So calling it now. Grem and Saves win their fights.
So where is that finger going to land.
Could it possibly land on Kills Horribly and melt him to goop?
Well looks like Dies is looking down and sees Saves fighting, so my guess is next he'll go down there. If he does Duv is pretty screwed.
So Saves is a 6th level fighter, was it? And yet she gets her ass kicked... does that mean Duv has class levels too?
They're visible in the first panel just left of Dies shoulder, so I'd say it's intended to show that Junior sees them down there. As far as Duv being screwed...depends on how Junior's Kryptonite (the blue orb of bloodlight) comes into play.
Or she has whatever stats the mad wizard's magic experiment gave that strain of mutant albino winged goblins. :smallwink:Quote:

Just in case not everyone knew it yet, the primary Goblins site is back up.
I'd guess some guy whose name starts with a K and rhymes with Kore. By the way, it rhymes with Kore because it is Kore.
My guess, anyway.
As for monsters having no class levels normally, think of it this way - Biscuit's clan may have been some of the first monsters to try and get class levels.
Well.. levels give a lot of stuff in D&D, but they don't usually give Armor Class. If Duv has a decent attack bonus from her stats, it'd be fairly easy for her to score a hit even without levels. It'd be harder to do enough damage to really slow Saves down, tho, and it *should* be pretty easy for Saves to score hits in return- overall this ought to be an easy fight for Saves, if Duv is a normal goblin. Duv is probably *not* a normal goblin. The options as I see them:
Duv has class levels: Yes, goblins (and 'monster' characters in general) don't take classes in this world. It is Not Done. However, we already know Duv sees herself as the Chosen One of the goblins- whatever she does is, by definition, now the Way Goblins Do Things. Or at least it's ok when *she* does it.
Duv has some freaky template: She's the legendary white winged goblin. That might involve more than just the wings; maybe she has something like the Paragon or (foo) Of Legend templates (suitably scaled down to this world's mostly-low power level) that gives her enough raw stats/random bonuses to throw down with a 6th level character.
Thunt is winging it: Dude's not all that great with the mechanical side of the game his world ostensibly runs on and likes drawing extended battle scenes. There isn't any actual reason for Duv to be able to stand up to Saves, except that it wouldn't be interesting to draw if it was just Saves Power Attacking Duv into the dirt in one blow. (Although if somebody does press Thunt into coming up with an explanation, my money is on 'freaky template.')
Now, it is Kore's Uncle, More, he is a Druid. He killed the tribe because he considered them unnatural. A very Druisdish thing don't 'cha know.
I'm going with Winged Template so +4-+6 Dex?Quote:

Well, "tranformed Dies" isn't exactly a friend of Saves...
I've been finding it more difficult than expected to figure out how long Dwarves live in the Dungeons and Dragons world, but don't they live a couple centuries, at least?
As far as i know they live at least a hundread years
Dwarf maximum life expectancy is about 400.
If Kore has reached legendary status, it's very possible that whatever allowed him to retain his Paladin status despite everything he's done also increases his life expectancy.
Kore is cheating on so many fronts, why do you expect him to succumb to some stupid law of nature like "natural lifespan"?
I believe it's mentioned Kore sticks to a target until he gets it. That makes him fearsome, because if you become a target, it's only a matter of time, before he gets you. It also makes him inefficient, depending on the target choosen, he could in principle hunt down the same target for years, before succeeding.
Even if a target in average takes an hour to take down, a thousand years are only about 8.8 million targets. That's probably not a lot given he hunts target of all creature types, as long as they register as evil.
In the meantime 'evil' monsters in the places he isn't at, are procreating. Probably doing so faster than Kore is eliminating evil.
I also imagine that the cracker's tribe dissapeared due losing too many units in battle in comparision to how many new units they could create. Eventually they may have reached a low enough number which they could not recover from. After all, their way of living seems to indicate it as a possibility.
Maybe not though, remember that Def dwarf that once held the Axe? He was Kore's target for awhile yet he was able to evade him long enough after their first encounter to marry someone and have kids. So either Kore sucks at tracking, tracking evil things is more important then looking for the axe, or he does more then just kill whatever his target is. For example while tracking Gorag the Ogre warloard he probably still stops to kill every evil thing he sees.
Also i think your kinda misinterpreting the Clans lifestyle. Not having a sense of loss =/= being unable to reproduce enough to recover from it, unless you are referring to the more violent nature of the Orcs, which could be a possibility. Though Fox said the clan was "Wiped out" rather then "died off", so it seems more likely to me that they were attacked by something stronger then they were, either an army of some kind, Adventurers, or Kore.
