SpoilerBiscuit!!!! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
And Mr. Fingers takes care of our K'Seliss replacement. For a moment there I was worried biscuit might win this.
I wonder if he'll recognize Mr Fingers finger, and if he paid enough attention to understand this must be the Grem Duv and Saves talked about earlier.
Come on guys, Biscuit spent most of the fight winning, of course he's going to lose in the end. Still a pretty cheap end to him. :smallsigh:
Unless he uses his wisdom to chop his foot/leg off before it spreads.
If Biscuit is still immortal, does that make a immortal Mr. Finger?
The misstep isn't costing Biscuit more than a foot, K'seliss bit it from the more-or-less full body contact that last attack required from him. It's not going to spread, and i doubt he's going to leave it lying around like that.
The real question is who will it land on after he bats it off the cliff edge :smalltongue:?
In the words of Biscuit.
Meh.
We do need to remember that thunt didn't know Biscuit was going to be that popular, he mentioned this on twitter I think, and he may well have planned his death out ahead of time and can't find a way to re-write it that achieves what is needed.
Yes! Die! DIE!
I love the picture painted between these last two posts.
Ok this update kind of freaks me out, since I remember treading on a wasp when I was five and feeling a stinging pain in my foot.
And now I'm imagining the pain spreading up and inside causing everything to weep sores and disolve. :smalleek:
Yeah, called Biscuit was going to lose this one. Pity, cause I liked him better than the prince who whines about not getting a girl.
He just stepped on the stupid finger... maybe he will just lose a leg. And he can kill grem before that happens. :fingers crossed: :smalleek:
Even biscuit couldnt make that DC 400 or whatever fort save.
the Fort Save DC isn't actually that high. That bit about failing 3 saves makes me seriously wonder if it's from "Coming into contact" three different times.
Note that there's actually two distinct phases, the one where you gel a little and get sores, then the one where that limb turns to blue goo.
I think contact forces you to the "gelly-like, sore-covered limb" stage without a save, and failing the save causes it to turn to blue goo and results in imb loss, where otherwise you're probably OK with a Remove Disease or Restoration.
Still sucks, but the only alternative is that nobody's rolled above a 10 against Mr. Fingers.
It's a FORT save! Against a Lizardman and an Orc!
Fort is their GOOD save! Even if they only have a small bonus to it, out of the 4 times (So far) that Mr. Fingers has touched one of them, you'd think they'd roll high enough to beat the DC.
Seconded. Come on. Battle-hardened veteran, slave of demons for hundreds of years, in the SAME DUNGEON as Mr. Fingers... and he steps on it? Not. Buying. It.
He would no more have stepped on that finger than he would have a single caltrop. You pay attention where you are moving to, and avoid lethal obstacles. This is... beyond a newbish mistake.
Thunt also released the stats on Mr. Fingers. The Fort save DC is pathetically low. The only reason K'less ended up going goo was because he was having to make Fort saves every round due to [/i]ingesting[/i] it. Law of statistics states that, given enough rolls, three natural ones in a row will eventually come up.
I always thought of it as technically feminine, and thought of it as 'The Witch'.
I agree that it as, well, as lame as Biscuit will be if he survives this.
With Biscuits massive wisdom score shouldn't he have a really good spot check?
He didn't whine, he just pined. "It's obvious that you're attracted to her", Duv said, but he didn't say anything. He gets bashful around her, but no whining.
I thought it looked like an old woman when it first showed up, and have always found the name "Mr." Fingers confusing. (Which is weird because I default to calling everything male if it has no gender characteristics.) I always just call it "The Finger-Thing".
Anyway, I doubt that anyone will ever make their save against the effect, because there would be little narrative point to a contact occurring if it were not to be certain doom. Though I do agree that it's pretty silly for Biscuit to have stepped on it (it's not completely absurd, a raging warrior isn't always going to watch every step, but it does rather conflict with his high Wisdom), and I second the idea that Biscuit should just cut off the leg before the effect spreads (and then be careful where he hops).
The comic. Does not. Follow. The game mechanics. The game mechanics. Followed. The Comic.:smallsigh:
And the stat post was adjusted to make things fair, in the Goblinverse it's 100% touch and loose a limb, there are no fort saves or whatever factored into it, if you touch the thing, you WILL be effected because that is how it works!
And you know just because he's begun loosing a leg doesn't mean he's lost the fight, i can easily see him adapting to hopping around on one leg or crawling after Grem, Hell he's told us spesificly that he does not have a sense of loss, if his leg is gone, so what!? he can still fight! So he keeps fighting! It's not like it can't be replaced by either Klik, The blue orb, or a log.

Why does everyone assume that Biscuit knew Mr Fingers?
Sure they were in the same dungeon, but it didn't seem like the demon that had him bound was letting him out of its sight much.
And maybe, just maybe he's not quite as wise as he likes to believe?
By the rules the bonus to mental stats stops at +3, no matter how old you really get. I know Thunt doesn't always follow the rules, but there it is. And Orcs and Fighters aren't often known for their phenomenal wisdom to start with.
So even a "wise orc" might have less wisdom than your average human.
Dies Arm has two daddies. :smalltongue:
Biscuitbeard.
Every pirate captain has beard in his name. Even female pirate captains need to have beard in their names.
Really loving the coloring, especially down in the marshy area where Saves and Duv are.
