De will support you in that endeavor. She's always looking for an excuse to wear her goggles.
I missed the last DC meetup because I was out of town that weekend, and now I've moved across the country for my new job and will be out of town again. Maybe next year. :smallfrown:
You don't think that everyone should wear one of these?
You can add me to the "tentative" list, but it's not likely - that's soccer season, and I coach two teams. Odds are good I'll have at least one game that weekend... I'll likely know my teams' schedules late August or early September.
I don't have a steampunk costume, but I do have a hat!
I need that shirt.
*purchases*
Ah, the wonders of the internet! I wish I could impulse buy them for the rest of you.
Please add me to the "maybe/interested" list. This year, I' hope to attend for certain (and will be sure to ask off early if I can)
If I do go, I can also certainly promise I will bring along some period garb for Renfest. Been a few years since I've gone to it
I have a local girlfriend who makes mini top-hats on headbands we could get. They are usually like $10 each, but I bet we can get them for less if we order a bunch (and with this much lead time). I brought mine to the JC meet-up, but I don't think anyone got any pictures of me in it.
Here is a photo from Facebook.
Let me know who wants one, and I can get her to make us some! All will, obviously, be a bit different, as materials are available. And if you have specific requests, she can try to get them done.
I have gotten word that we are "going to try" and make this meet-up. Any locals wanna recommend a place that falls between clean and decently-priced and pleasingly-located?
Please add me to the "banging my head into the desk repeatedly because I can't make this meetup either" list. You do have one of those right?
Here's a post from last year's thread.
We stayed at the Days Inn last year. I don't recall forming any especially strong positive or negative impressions from the stay - well, the parking lot was kinda weird. I do remember that it was pretty much a straight shot up the road to the Troll Cave from there.
Brb, moving out of my house so I can offer people a room to stay...
Nevermind, can't til next year. :smallannoyed:
*cough* BUMP *cough*
We're gonna try and make it. Depends on the offer they make for me to go full-time, and also whether we are gonna try and do Universal Studios for the holidays.

Do ornotdo, there is no try.

Have you bugged SirSix to come along? He promised me homebrew.
It's mainly a matter of finances, which we should have this year. Especially once De starts working full time in a couple of weeks.
In fact, I want to attend so badly, I may even be willing to share a room. *GASP*
Any changes to attendants?
(this is actually a bump where I got tired of saying bump)
Turns out I have a big sacrifice on the Thursday morning before the meetup. 15 animals, with all the associated harvesting of organs. Which means I won't be taking that day off to travel. So I'll either fly in late Thursday or early Friday. Haven't figured out when I'm going home yet.
Oh, and it's looking like I won't be a local in October. Maybe by New Year's, though.
It's more a "we're probably gonna go with the local guy who has more experience with animals than you, but here's contact information for some other people that may be looking for lab technicians in the near future" deal. I'm also watching job listings in the DC area. But I'm going to be heavily involved in several experiments where I am in the coming months, and as much as I want to get out of AR I don't want to leave people who are depending on me hanging.
Gotcha. Well, we're glad to hear that it's not completely off the table at any rate. :smallcool:
