Sznovf- Wizard's Tower
It does not move. None of the monkeys in this room move. They're either dead or dormant till somebody prods them awake with magic.
[Sznovf - Wizard's Tower]
Cass switches out the magazine in her assault rifle again and puts a bullet into each of the gold and silver monkeys' heads. Then she turns to climb back out of the hatch, grumbling all the while.
Sznovf- Wizard's Tower
That's killed the ones that were dormant. Since they're gold and silver, will Cassidy choose to take them as loot?
The tower has been fully explored.
[Sznovf - Wizard's Tower]
Cass doesn't see much worth in gold or silver, mostly because neither are as valuable where she's from. If there aren't any further interruptions, Cass will leave the tower and head back to the Hamlet.
Sznovf- Wizard's Tower
Does Cassidy revisit any part of the tower now that the monkeys have been defeated? Especially as the Panzerfaust has been used and Cassidy's back may be open enough for that pink rucksack of holding. Or she could free the less-altered prisoners near the workshop, if she can't hack being close to the heavily altered ones along the corridor.
[Sznovf - Wizard's Tower]
Cass does decide to approach that last corridor again, to see if any of the prisoners are still alive and could stand being out in the world again.
Sznovf- Wizard's Tower
At least one is already out in the world; the cell holding the child is now empty, decorated by shattered chains, chunks of stone dust and fragments of the door's lock. The cells are built into the stone of a mountain, with doors of steel bars. The child appears to have punched the lock and shattered the delicate mechanism.
Distressingly many of the other captives within the cells are alive. Most, however, will be unable to survive without the help of others to care for them, because they have had their minds shattered or their body has been hideously altered or in a few cases both. The man whose body is mummified may be able to survive. An ogre in the last cell on the right might, too, though his head has been sewn onto the shoulders of a goblin incapable of lifting it from the ground.
[Sznovf - Wizard's Tower]
Cass sighs. She couldn't think of anything, not even any deltawares, that would help any of these people. So, she just tries to mercy kill them, putting a bullet in each of them.
Sznovf- Wizard's Tower
Most of them smile when they die. The man whose body has been mummified continues blinking but otherwise doesn't move. The woman whose limbs had been amputated and stitched on in different places continues writhing, though not for long.
At the end of the corridor is a ramp downwards. Does Cassidy risk plunging further into this nightmare place of insane experimentation?
[Sznovf - Wizard's Tower]
Cass doesn't bother going further in. She's had well more than enough of this whole damned place. Instead, she just leaves the caravan and climbs back down to Sznovf. Seems she's completely forgotten about that rucksack of holding.
Sznovf- Wizard's Tower --> General
Probably just as well. I doubt tacky pink plastic with a floral pattern quite matches the rest of Cassidy's attire. Such as the coat, which I believe is leather, or the lamellar.
There's no monkeys to be seen at the bottom of the tower, but there is a new body. It's the child from the cells; it seems she walked out of the caravan and didn't use the ladder. She's not breathing, but she does look innocent and not at all crazed.
[Sznovf]
Cass climbs down the ladder, and looks disheartened at the sight of the child. She goes to check her pulse.
Sznovf
The child is dead. However, if Cassidy touches the child's skin with her own, she might be blasted away by a green light that has tried to enter Cassidy. If it succeeded, Cassidy may find her strength permanently boosted at the cost of a worse temper and a tendency to enter a berserk state when seriously threatened.
[Sznovf]
Cass didn't touch the child's skin' She wrapped her hand in her coat’s sleeve. She was more cautious of some disease than magic, though. She sighs again as she stands up. "Say hi to the wizworms for me, kid." Then she heads towards the village proper.
Sznovf
She's in the hamlet proper. Inasmuch as there's a chain link fence around the hamlet and the tower is within the fence; the buildings are all quite a distance apart.
Nobody is around at the moment, however; of the only buildings with living people inside, they're locked up inside a bunker in one and in the other there's an injured man.
[Sznovf]
Cass heads over to the log cabin, blood still dripping off of her legs. If she gets there, she'll knock on the door.
Sznovf- Log Cabin
The door opens. The orlf has opened it, and will quickly close it after Cassidy has entered the log cabin.
[Sznovf - Log Cabin]
"Thanks. How's your dad doing?" Cass steps further into the cabin, looking around a little.
Sznovf- Log Cabin
"He's doing much better, but Mr. Ghost-whose-name-has-been-forgotten-by-his-player won't let me poke him anywhere fun." The orlf nods.
[Sznovf - Log Cabin]
"Hmm, I might have to go talk to him," Cass says. and then hisses without warning. Without magic or adrenalin, the pain in her legs is now very apparent. "Some bandages would be nice first."
Sznovf- Log Cabin
"OK. I'll go get some." He'll skip over to a kitchen drawer and pull out a roll of bandages and, unless stopped, will attempt to put them onto Cassidy's leg. If Cassidy lets him do it, he'll go over her trousers and he won't be gentle, occasionally subtly poking the wound to see her reaction.
[Sznovf - Log Cabin]
"Uh-uh," Cass says, holding her hand out for the bandages. "Hand em over."
Sznovf- Log Cabin
The orlf, Bramble, frowns but does as he's told. He'll then sit down and watch, staring at the wound whilst it's visible and at Cassidy's facial expression when it's not. He'll likely ask questions about how much it hurts, too.
[Sznovf - Log Cabin]
Cass starts to tightly wrap each of her legs with the bandages. She answers each of Bramble's questions with a lot of confusing slang that I can't be bothered to look up.
Sznovf- Log Cabin
Some of the questions require simple yes-or-no answers. Such as if he can taste her blood, and if he can put his finger in it. If it is a yes or no answer, however, most of the time I'd answer 'no'.
[Sznovf - Log Cabin]
Cass definitely answers 'no' to those particular questions, and focuses more on covering her two wounds to help with her natural healing rate.
Sznovf- Log Cabin
"You heard of massy-kism?" The next few questions are likely to be awkward.
