I'm just carrying on the original artist's vision.
Also on 34p this one is my favorite though sadly I think only the Lich might appreciate it:
A series I think had me well broken down and ready for assimilation into the Herd about a year ago... well this week actually.
I'm really liking the idea of making a pony Brawl game.

Oh, are we doing crossover image dumps now?
SpoilerJust kidding! They're all too huge to post here.
Ghostbusters
Diablo III
Calvin & Hobbes
Avengers
Mares In Black
Dalek Derpy
Hmm, I can see AJ's final smash going in a number of ways;
She gives off a rodeo yell, jumping up before a herd of cows stampedes through, chased by Winona.
The summons her extended family, much like King Dedede's army, which appears and attacks players by bucking them, throwing pies etc.
She busts out her trusty lassoo, if it hits an opponent it drags them to her location in time for a mega buck to the face and likely off the screen.
All this brawl talk is making me feel pretty darn good...
But I wonder, what about Fighting is Magic? As -awesome- as Brawl is, and adapatble enough to mix with Ponies, Fighting is Magic -is- a thing....
[Wow. Switching to camcorder killed my phone. Whole thing just up and died...
HEY INOKNOWNAMES, two things. One, I'm gonna call you Inkin' from now on (oh, look, a pony name!), and two, I chickened out at the last second but here ya go.
Yes quite. I actually think that series has a place in being a gateway drug for taking a 'manly' otaku and readying him for ponies.
Indeed but recognition is not the same as appreciation. Do you know how awesome the White Devil is?
Side-B for unicorn horns, Up-B for Pegasi wing moves.
Damn straight!
I am still well fracked off that StrikerS never got a western DVD release. I mean, I know the first two series weren't exactly greta dubbing, but even so... dammit.
Notably, Nanoha is one of onlly two anime (the other being Rock Lee's spring time of youth) I actually watched subbed the first time...
Also, the soundtrack made it onto my regular music list, along with such heady contenders as Naruto and Pokemon.
I keep meaning to go read the scanlations of the later manga - I even found somewhere that had translated (subs I think) the drama CDs, but I don't think they ever finished.
I watched that clip you linked, actually.
I know the show has a reputation, but I thought that the description of how an episode went was exaggerated, like, at all.
Apparently not. And now I've got this one Blues track stuck in my head.
Not that part.
-THIS- part.
It's the -PAIN- in his vocal cords that sells it. I heard he actually passed out recording that.
So ... head canon and random ideas related to Discord and the princesses? I can do that
Celestia couldn't actually use the Elements back when NMM first appeared, because of her friendship with Luna being corrupted and broken. Celestia didn't actually imprison Luna in the moon, she killed her (no doubt with a lot of hesitation, because she's still a really super nice pony, probably too nice sometimes which is why I suspect NMM's first reign was a fair deal longer than her second). It just sounds nicer that she used the Elements to imprison her, so that's her story and she's sticking to it. Luna's soul (corrupted by NMM) ended up in the moon in one of two ways: Either this is naturally what happens when either Luna or Celestia dies, the sun and moon sort of acting as a lich's phylactery for them, or Luna specifically made the moon her "phylactery" through magic only she knew. The latter is my personal favorite theory. Either way, Celestia killed Luna and her soul was whisked away to safety in the moon, until a time when the stars were right.
Discord Disposal doesn't work because keeping Discord stoned is an active and ongoing effort. If you threw him into empty space he'd be free in the blink of an eye, not because of strife and chaos around him but because of a very great lack of harmony (or anything else, really). Keeping him in a nice, quiet and above all well-kept and harmonious garden with happy ponies walking around enjoying the scenery was paramount to keeping the spell from breaking.
I mentioned this one earlier ... the natural state of the world is utter chaos. Somehow everything is immensely unstable and needs to be managed, controlled and kept in check by sentient beings like the ponies. Discord doesn't cause chaos as such, he just keeps ponies from managing things and chaos naturally happens as a consequence. If all the ponies just stopped doing anything, the world would go nuts with or without Discord around. Discord doesn't have a lot of power except over the minds of other sentient beings, and that's all he ever needs.
How to explain?
Nanoha is both the main character and short for the series title Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. It has minimalist fanservice, revolves around young girls wanting to make friends, and the main character fights using sparkly pink magic.
Its also up there with TTGL for distilling pure awesome. I'm totally GAR for Nanoha myself. Yes GAR is entirely appropriate here.
By modern standards the dub is pretty spotty. I still loved it just for putting Raging Heart in.
A great shame I can not add Strikers to my DVD collection
Had I editing skills is I would PMV Brave Phoenix to share with the Herd.Quote:
Also, the soundtrack made it onto my regular music list, along with such heady contenders as Naruto and Pokemon.
Changing topics a touch, Lich have you sampled Dog Days at all? Same studio so I consider it a quasi-spiritual successor. While very different the art style and direction is totally from there. Also the ultimately hopeful outlook, and competent people being actually pretty competent is there.
(I think a wargamer might like it too)
This picture just plain reminds me of Ponythread.
Ladies of Ponythread, would you wear this?
So remember how, uh, yesterday I was saying someone should write a fic where Prince Blueblood turns out to be Batman? I'm putting the final touches on the ending right now. I give you Dark Knight of Canterlot! EDIT: And now it's actually viewable EDIT 2 on Fimfiction! I'd appreciate proofreading and feedback. I don't know whether to tag this Comedy or Comedy/Romance so cast your vote for that as well.
Also, story images. Vote of one of these two or suggest your own.

Yeah, Tiki just knocked this out of the park
Some human Applejack art I stumbled upon today--
Arm-wrestling an interesting interpretation of Dash:

Ah I think I see now. And I mention it as a potential gateway drug because like ponies Nanoha is a gender role crushing show.
Though it is made for the male periphery demographic (inverting the brony case) it does so without say over sexualizing the characters, or otherwise making its male leanings clear. Like say how most Harem series despite having heavily female casts, are basically male fantasies being played out. Or how say something like Black Lagoon is populated by your typical hot-blooded shonen badasses... that happen instead to be female.
Nanoha retains a certain demure femininity. Both the character and in the show's approach, yet at no point allows this to detract from the utter awesomeness. Or be dissonant with.
(It probably helps they are aping one of the the more solid and reliably written anime franchises too)
Possible. They are all powerful princesses so they probably can "cheat" and use more elements than regular ponies. Unless Celestia and Luna had four friends they don't mention. I always thought a neat idea is that they had four friends, but don't really mention them as it's not relevant to the situation to get into that kind of detail.
Personally I think Starswirl was one of them. :3
And this bit of sketch parallel's my idea about the Mane 6's human body types:
http://mlpforums.com/topic/10439-human-pony-body-types/
That would be neat. I thought Trixie will be a bit like Tronn Bonne where she just summons up lots of minions to do most of the fighting. Guess that makes Snips and Snails the equivilent of Servbots.
Yeah. DBZ ponies... that's kinda scary awesome.
I'm kind of bummed that Twilight isn't in the story because otherwise I'd totally use the first one
Also for those who prefer to read/comment on Fimfiction: Dark Knight of Canterlot
What did I just read. xD
