Really? Wow, that sucks. In England you can change your name by deed poll for any reason or none. Don't have to be transitioning, don't have to be trans - if you want a different legal name you can fill in the paperwork, get it witnessed, send it in and you're done.
Apparently the single most common name change is people changing their middle name to Danger.

In America, too. The name-change whenever thing, not the Danger thing.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if that also held true here :smallamused: .

Ugh, hello again dysphoria. I have an overwhelming need to be female right now, and I don't know how to satisfy it. Sometimes dressing up girly is enough, but it doesn't seem to be at the moment :/

D=
Um. Find someone to cuddle? Plushies work if no-one is available? :(
(HUG)
Edit: I tried listening to Justin Bieber to understand the fuss. He's not THAT bad guys. He's just generic and overpopular.

Re: LGBTAitp 27: Of Shoes, and Ships, and Sealing Wax
So what if anything manages to occupy your mind so you're not actively dwelling on it? Is there anything you've found so far or are you still looking?
Or are you past that point and working on some other component?

A thought occurs.
At the moment, you're fighting off the dysphoria monster by only using your eyes and altering your appearence. What about your other senses, hun? How could you use those to help? Girly smells, girly sounds, girly tastes...examples like certain smells (flowers and whatnot) have a very feminine theme to them, tastes like chocolates, berries and the ever present ice-cream. Although Asta may have made the wrong call, perhaps particular songs or albums can help your inner girly connect with her very pretty outer girly? =)
Without laying a finger on yourself, what other sensations of touch strike you as girly? Cuddly, fluffy toys, smooth satiny silks....?
If you do feel inclined to try this, take your time with each sensation and explore it.
@V: Behave, you. :smallannoyed:

It's hard for even manly men to disagree with the appeal of a big bowl of strawberry ice cream, after all.
I'm still not clear on why people love to eat it so much when it's cold outside, but that might just be human cussedness/stubbornness.

Being a person who loves iced coffee... and who drinks it even when she requires gloves to be able to even hold it because it's so cold outside...
I'm not gonna let some silly cold weather get between me and my iced coffee!

Yes......Ice cream........that's exactly what I was referring to. :smallwink:
But yes, I love Strawberry Ice Cream. Also, one of my favorite cakes, next to Red velvet which is #1, is a Strawberry cake with Cream Cheese Icing, and the little ball sprinkles all over it. NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM

This isn't a bad idea, actually. I've been meaning to retrieve my old teddybear next time I go home. I'll think about the others, maybe try to find some reasonably proced perfume. :)
Asta: Apology accepted *hug*

Thank you. That's important to me - I don't want to be a douchebag.
But what is 'being female'? Is it about gender presentation?

It's hard to explain. It's about feeling like I'm actually a woman, not just a man in a dress. It's a feeling that I've managed to capture a few times, and it's amazing, but it's hard to achieve on purpose.

Re: LGBTAitp 27: Of Shoes, and Ships, and Sealing Wax
Let me know how you get on with that stuff I posted. If it works well, we might be able to turn it into something useful for when other folks are not quite feeling themselves.
Unfortunately I don't have my plush toy anymore. I used to own something that looked like a brown furry Cthulhu that my gran gave me when I was about five. I went home to see my newborn niece on the weekend and she has the same name as my gran did. After a few minutes shovelwork in the attic, I found him and Smockey now has a new owner.

Re: LGBTAitp 27: Of Shoes, and Ships, and Sealing Wax
Heh, nice term. I like it!
Actually, weirdly, I find it helps some to almost flaunt my femininity. I just changed out of my long dress (the one that I wore to the Camden minimeetup, actually) into a short skirt and tight top, and I'm feeling quite a bit better.
