Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Ghosts? What about them?" Aiden isn't entirely sure whether or not Naku wants the glass refilled or not, but he does it anyway, just in case.

Naku nods to him in thanks for the glass, then looks down at the bar, her expression one of not truly being there.
"I . . . I killed all of them, you know?
Did you know that?" She asks, looking up at him.
"Everyone I grew up with. Everyone I loved. I killed all of them, and drank nearly every drop of blood that could be found."

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
Aiden remains silent for a few moments. That was a lot of information for him to process. "...No, I didn't know that. Not entirely sure what I can even say to that."

"I know, right?" Naku asks, slamming the drink back again.
"Refill?" She asks, handing it back.

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Yeah, of course," Aiden says before refilling the glass and putting it on the bar. "I get the feeling I'm prying too much. I'm sorry."

Naku shrugs slightly.
"Feels better to tell someone, you know?"
She asks, before just taking a long pull from the bottle.
How she got it away from him is hard to tell, could have been due to her player misreading the above post and deciding just to go with it.

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
I imagine Aiden just left the bottle. "Yeah, I see what you mean there. I dunno." He's starting to wish he still drank alcohol.

"Yeah. Anyway." Naku says, pushing the bottle back over.
"I shouldn't drink so much."
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
Aiden shrugs when Naku says she shouldn't drink, even though he agrees. "I can't really tell you not to, especially since that would make me a hypocrite."

"Yeah, but it doesn't do any good anyway."
Naku admits, standing up and stretching slightly.
"Anyway, there's a story there behind all that.
Someday I'll share it.
Maybe."
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Well, I'd be glad to hear it, if you ever decide to share," Aiden says as he steps back from the bar. "You want your spot back?"

"Please.
But you handed it well." Naku says, running a hand back through her hair, and heading back behind the bar.

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Not the first time I've been behind a bar," Aiden says before heading out from behind the bar. "Been a few years, though."

"Well that's the start of a story if I've ever heard one. Continue, please."
Naku requests, resting her chin in her hand, and elbow on the bar.

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Well, alright. Don't know why you're interested, though. My life isn't very exciting." Aiden sits at the bar, considering how best to tell about his past.
"This was when I first moved to Chicago after a few years of being homeless in my terrible hometown. I looked everywhere for a place that was just looking for extra help, and I found a bar. Wasn't particularly busy, but they needed an extra bartender for the weekends. I volunteered, and they taught me how to mix drinks, make small talk, all the things that keep customers coming back. I held on to that job for two years before quitting."

Naku nods a few times.
"S'a respectable job. Thanks for sharing."

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"No problem, long as you enjoyed the story." Aiden leans back a little.

"Much better than any of mine." Naku agrees with a nod.

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"That's a little subjective, but I'll take the compliment all the same," Aiden says. He glances at the menu while trying to figure out what time it is.

"Well, it's definitely a compliment 'round here."
It's . . . probably latish.

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
Aiden smiles a bit. He'd written before, but nobody had ever told him in person that they enjoyed his stories. He looks at the menu for a few seconds. "You know, I haven't had curry in a long time. You wouldn't mind getting the seafood kind here, would you?"

"I'll do what I can, but I make no promises."
With that, she turns, and puts a note through to the kitchen, telling him to make some curry.

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Well, I hope it's not too difficult or anything like that," Aiden says. The sarcasm is pretty apparent in his voice.

Naku just shakes her head.
"Well, only one person knows what's going on in that kitchen at any time.
And lemme tell you; it's not me."

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Should I even ask who it is, or is that knowledge too great for any mortal mind?" Aiden actually kind of suspects the latter, it wouldn't be out of place in the Nexus.

"It's safest just not to ask." Naku admits, grinning slightly.

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Right, I'll just pretend that there is no kitchen. There's nothing there at all," Aiden says. He's grinning as well.

"Exactly. You understand."

"Understand what? I don't know what you're talking about," Aiden says, leaning back again.
