Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Who's the guy, and why's he so interesting?" Aiden asks, before glancing at his cup. "Naku, would you mind refilling this?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
His name is... Uh, what was it... Sir Rupert von Sergeyevich ibn Alucard or something. Ally laughs. I can't even begin to describe how interesting he is, but he's pretty damn ridiculous. But he's filthy rich, and willing to pay anyone to take him seriously. Right now he's looking for people to teach him a bunch of stuff, anything at all I guess. Wants to purchase gentlemanship, if you can believe it.

Naku nods, takes the cup, and begins refilling it, while listening to the most interesting description.
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Thanks," Aiden says while listening to the description that Ally gives. "Uh... huh. Sounds like an interesting guy, yeah. Hope the pay's good, at least."
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
Oh yeah. Very good. She finishes off her wine with a vulpine smirk. Hey, if you two know anyone who can teach anything, I've got the guy's address. Magic, science, philosophy, fencing, whatever, he's willing to pay to be taught it.

Naku shrugs slightly, handing Aiden the new cup of tea.
"I'll think about it."
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
Aiden takes the cup as he raises an eyebrow in confusion in response to the smirk. "No, I don't know a lot of people. Kinda wish I knew something like magic, though."

The Dutchman then excuses himself from the table and makes his way over to Naku. He will take a seat at the bar and patiently wait until her and Marty have concluded their conversation.
Fade nods to the man before he glance at the knife game people. After a few moments to make sure they don't start it again, Fade stands up and heads back behind the bar.

Ally shrugs. So what do you do for a living, Aiden?

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"I"m a writer. Or, well, I'd like to think so. But I just work at a music shop up at Mallside." Aiden takes a sip at his tea. "Better than nothing."

It worked again. Vo moved next to Strahd to get a better look. "Isn't that something~"

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
What kind of things does a music store sell? Ally asks innocently, pretending she doesn't want to heist his store. Or maybe she's just never seen a music store and wants to make conversation while waiting for her food.

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Whatever a musician could want," Aiden replies. "Instruments, sheet music, instructional books, all that jazz. If you'll pardon the term."
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Shure ish." And it suggests an interesting set of rules of to Vo's magic. "You never tried thish yourshelf?"

See you never
OOC: ((I could've sworn there were more than six Dancing Fox Inn threads. Lost to oblivion?
Anyway, I know I made mistakes in the past two and a half years, primarily that my characters were poorly written, and that I godmodded once, and I had the brain of a twelve-year old. I just want it to be made clear that I will not be hanging around here, like, ever.
Take care, DFI.))
EDIT: Updated status from official leave to indefinite hiatus.

"Heh. Music puns." Naku chuckles, while washing a few glasses.
"Do you happen to sell harpsichords, by any chance?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Yeah, I think we have one or two. You could probably make a request, too," Aiden says. "Side note: I love harpsichords. Right up there with the tenor saxophone on my list."

Naku nods, she had never heard of a tenor sax, but it had a nice name.
"Yeah, me too. I grew up playing the harpsichord, and have always been sad I couldn't get one for the inn."
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
"Never actually played a harpsichord. Played the piano sibce I had to hide it from my parents, but not that. I just think it sounds great," Naku probably shouldn't tell Aiden that she doesn't know the tenor sax, unless she wants her ears talked off.

"So then," Naku asks, making herself a cup of tea, "what's a tenor sax?"
Whoops.

Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
Aiden is about to reply, but freezes for a second with a slack jaw. "...Please tell me you're joking."

Naku shakes her head, after taking a sip of tea.
"Didn't have much of anything besides a harpsichord when I was growing up."
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
Aiden lets out a breath as he considers how he could answer. "Okay. Saxophones were invented as a bridge between clarinets and brass instruments. The tenor sax will play backup in an ensemble, but it's a pretty big instrument in jazz. It's sound's one of the richest in the woodwind instruments, and I used to play it all the time before I ended up here. Anybody interested in jazz needs to look it up, and eventually get their hands on one."

Naku, so much as she wanted to ask, didn't really want to make his head hurt any more than it already must. With a nod, she says "Mmmmkay."
Then sip of her tea to cover it up.
Go tea!
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
Aiden sighs. "There's something else you want to ask, isn't there?" Tea sipping doesn't seem to fool him.

"Jazz," Naku says, holding out a thumb, "clarinets, woodwinds, brass." At each word, she counted them out on another finger.
-
Re: [Nexus] Dancing Fox Inn VI: Wait, there used to be a Ribbajack here?
Aiden just sighs again. "At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't know what a scale was," he says. "Okay, quick version: Jazz is a style of music developed about a century ago in my home country. Woodwind and brass are two different families of instruments, the former including the clarinet."

Naku nods again, this time it did make sense. She might not know what the actual object itself was, but she had the ideas down!
"All right, that does make more sense. Curious as to what it sounds like, however."
