A pretty good Rainbow Dash cosplay
It's very rare that cosplays works, in my opinion. This one could use a little more tan, this being Dash, but the hair works surprisingly well and the dress is excellent.

No you can't bring Tempest back. Sorry but anything else would seem like too much of an ***-pull. The story would have to take place in the past or something like that.
Good story though. I couldn't see any problems with it other then a mild dislike for the fanon presented. (Oddly enough it was too realistic, as if it had taken place in our world, instead of Equestria. You know what I mean?) But I can get over that and appreciate the story for what it is.
It does really remind me of some other great stories too.

Rarity, I've learned to appreciate you more in the past few months. Please don't spoil it by opening your mouth like that again.
As for why Shining hasn't been helping? Because he's a shallow character. Or, you know, some kind of nonsense; maybe Sombra can get through the shield spell, but love keeps him away.

Speaking of Lyra, does anyone remember the genesis of the whole deal?
Someone needs to find the comic where Lyra proclaims to Bon-Bon that the world was not made by ponies.

Well, at least Rarity had the good graces to realize how silly she was being in under 5 seconds. Also, way to make a pony look ridiculously tired by drawing 3-4 lines on the model. The animators got this thing down pat.

Why those specific ones? They're high quality, but I wasn't aware you were especially attached to the characters (and I'm embarrassed to say I'm not sure what their names are).

Flitter and Cloudchaser, from Hurricane Fluttershy. You should be embarrassed :smalltongue:
Why? Because they're freakin' adorable, and Cloudchaser and Flitter need more love ^^ Outside the Mane 6, they just may be best pegasi. Edit: Best adult pegasi, at least.

They're the two from Hurricane Fluttershy. Y'know... uh... they're... Cloud Kicker and... somepony?
Sorry, I just remember Silverspeed from the background ponies in that one.

Yeah, that's pretty much where I was coming from. I certainly wasn't thinking of a modern vampire with more vulnerabilities than powers, and even more angst. More like the original Dracula so no catching fire in sunlight, she just needs to wear a hat sometimes.
Alternatively I would accept a Dorian Gray type for Rarity. Still has the vanity and style required, just less powers and vulnerabilities.
Applejack I'd like to update to a mummy. The forgotten intelligent undead.
I was thinking some sort of contagious movie-zombie for Pinkie. Maybe a shuffling dance zombie. :smallamused:
Spike is a skeletal dragon. That egg had been dead for a century, nobody expected Twilight to actually hatch it.
The CMC (Cutie Mark Constructs) are:
Applebloom - Flankenstein's monster.
Sweetie Belle - marshmallow golem.
Scootaloo - gargoyle. Twilight "fixed" her after a run in with a cockatrice.
They all want to grow up to be real ponies.

Yeah, I know. It would completely invalidate the entire point of the story and absolutely wreck her character arc to pieces. It isn't getting a sequel. I just ended up really liking her by the time I was done with this
It probably would not shock you to hear that I recently spent a weekend discovering the SCP Foundation wiki, which was the template I was inspired by for Tempest's 'containment.' SLIGHTLY different in tone than ponies. Tried to come up with a way for Celestia to be doing something horrible to her, even though it was the most merciful option available.

Oooh, new theory for the Trixie episode! I'm calling this now:
Those screenshots we saw a while back of a deserted Ponyville, those are from the Trixie episode. When Trixie defeats Twilight and banishes her from Ponyville, most of the town decide to follow Twilight because they like Twilight and don't like Trixie, leaving Trixie in an empty Ponyville with nopony to appreciate her awesomeness. It doesn't end with Twilight showing her up again, but with Trixie grudgingly begging Twilight to come back.

Just one issue with this: If the file names for those screenshots were correct, they were from the last two episodes IIRC. Of course, they could be wrong, and it's a pretty good idea otherwise.

Cadence didn't look good. Either Shining Armor didn't have enough durability to maintain the barrier when compared to Cadence (According to Royal Canterlot Wedding, he gets a lot of headache from the barrier for Canterlot).

Trixie is the kind of pony that likes to fight dirty. It's written right there in her character.

I read The Incredibly Dense Mind of RD, I think. It was good, but I must confess I was always utterly confused about Cloudkicker. I keep thinking, who is this pony? I mean, I can't ever recall seeing her in the show, or seeing much (if any) art of her, but she seems to have a hidden following among some fanfic writers, and I just can't make sense of it.
Bit of the same with Blossomforth, although at least I can remember her appearance in the show, because it was pretty funny, and she has some art because of that.
Derpy, of course, is great, but I would honestly say I like Flitter and Cloudchaser better than Derpy.

Aww man, now they have to do it that way, because I don't think my to-do list can handle any more fanfics.
Also, DAMN! I just noticed I won't be home when episode 4 and 5 airs so I'll probably not be able to watch them until a day or two later :smallfrown: Why must they air on saturdays? Why not wednesday? I'm always home on weekdays, every time I'm not home it's almost always a weekend.

I think you might have missed some of the dialogue there. Shining Armor explicitly said that he wanted to help but couldn't because Sombra had countered his shielding spell.
Also, it's hard to tell if the headache came just from him doing the spell, or Chrysalis messing with his head and weakening him.

I always figured Shining's headaches were not from creating the shield itself, but for keeping it up for a prolonged time.
