Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
First, the opening post....
DA RULES as written by Bookman, the true host of Playground Squares and whose spot as host I am merely keeping warm until he is ready to return.
This is just like Hollywood Squares except instead of celebrites, we play with Titans posters! I'm Various people are the hosts. We need 11 people to play, 9 of which must be TitanITPs crammed into squares. The other two can be whoever are contestants.
I'll Someone will ask the Titans people crammed in the squares the questions, chosen from categories based on GitP Trivia.
The contestants then decide if they agree or disagree with the answer given. If they're right, they get the square. If they're wrong, their opponent gets the square*.
A Contestant wins by getting three in a row, either diagonally, horizontally, or vertically. If neither contestant gets three in a row, or it is deemed impossible to reach three in a row by either contestant, the first to five squares wins.
It can be about the games, The Town FFRP, or OoTS anything at all. So... who all wants to play enter the madness?
*Unless it would cause the opponent to win the game. You must correctly Agree/Disagree to win the game.
NOTICE: No Lawyers allowed in Playground Squares, upon death by Flying Shark.
Starter Table
We need 2 new Contestants and 9 new Squares.
It has been pointed out to me that posting to be on the waiting list may discourage new players from joining. So I ask that the Current Squares and Contestants wait 24 hours before posting their interest to be in the next game. Thank you.
Exception: If a Square isn't asked a question in the course of the game, they are allowed to forego the 24 hour waiting period.

Is it weird that I already miss the old thread?

One note: Questions seem to have evolved from just OotS/forum trivia, and that should probably be noted in the opening post.

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
 I seem to have forgotten to ask the question.
Okay, Penguinator, here is your super hard Canadian Knowledge challenge:
With the passing of a Constitutional Act of 1867, the dominion of Canada was created by fusing the North American British colonies into one. Two of the Provinces were left unchanged, in name and boundaries.
The third, the Province of Canada, was split in two, and given two new distinct names and boundaries. One half became Ontario. What name was the other half gifted?

Time to play the Game, Saposhiente.

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Saposhiente, Paul Michael Levesque has been in professional wrestling since 1994, when he joined the WCW. In 1995 he traded to the WWF, as the Blue Blood; Hunter Hearst Helmsley, which he eventually shortened to Triple H.
He then went on to form Degeneration-X with Shawn Michaels, Chyna, and one other. What was the ring name of the fourth member?

Before the formation of Degeneration-X, but when he was already at the WWF, Rich Rude formed a rivalry with Jake "The Snake" Roberts. Rude had a routine where, before the match, he would make a show of removing his robe while insulting the males in the crowd. Later, Paul would talk at the WWF about "The Dominant Animal" (It wasn't Atreyu). Antics like these made Rich Rude perfect for Degeneration-X, a group infamous for breaking the rules, acting and speaking as they pleased.
Sorry about the delay! Writing about things that I (initially) knew nothing about is hard.
-
Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Nice try.
But I know that fellows name was Rick Rude, not Rich.
Therefore, I disagree.
-
Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Ding Ding Ding! The correct answer was indeed Rick Rude, not Rich.

This statement is completely true. It, of course, refers to Dr. Paul E. at the World Wildlife Fund.

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Mangosta 71, I think some insects desire bacon, meaning we need to Meat the Beatles.

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
In 1966, Capitol Records released yet another fine Beatles album. Just one slight problem: They used a highly controversial cover for the album, known popularly as the Butcher Cover.
It had the Fab Four wearing white lab coats with various slices of meat strewn about their shoulders and laps. Paul has two headless baby dolls on his shoulders, one of the heads in his lap. George is standing behind them, holding up the other head. :smallyuk:
To fix the problem, they decided to glue a new image over the old. What is the real title of this infamous album?
-
Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Who disturbs my slumber?
Oh. Hi. Erm...let's just move along, shall we?
As the local repository of all knowledge related to the so-called Fab Four (all the better to mock their fanbase), I am, of course, well-versed in the intricacies surrounding their album makings.
This particular album came out on the heels of John's "more popular than Jesus" comment, which provoked the Vatican to publicly censure the group, and the controversial cover on top of that led to plunging sales and caused EMI to pull the album off the shelves. When it was re-released two years later as The White Album, it enjoyed their customary success. Just more evidence that, while you can judge a book by its cover, you'll often end up looking like an idiot if you do.

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
:smallconfused: What's this?BZZZZTT!! Someone answered wrong? :smalleek:
The correct answer was Yesterday and Today. And though I'm not 100% positive, I don't think they waited two years after pulling it to re-release it.
But, as it's a Winning Square, not one gets the block.

I don't blame you. Even knowing that I was lying by the end of that I'd nearly convinced myself that I was telling the truth.

Well, Amidus, let's go Where no woman has gone before.

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Amidus Drexel....
In 1965, Gene Roddenberry presented NBC with a new show, claiming it to be "Wagon Train in Space".
In the original pilot episode, no one; male or female, wore go-go boots and mini-skirts. Spock was just the chief scientist, not the second in command.
What was the character's name who was Capt. Pike's female second in command?
-
Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Well, she's clearly talking about Star Wars.
You mean Star Trek.
I'd just like to mention that Battlestar Galactica is a thing. I know it's got nothing to do with this.
Oh, whatever.
Doesn't matter, it's a trick question.
Hrm? No it isn't.
Yes it is. There wasn't any female second in command.
Did you actually watch the pilot episode?
Well, yeah. I watched the whole first trilogy.
...
In fact, I don't remember there being a big chain of command anyway.
Well, technically it is a trick question, although for a different reason.
...oh, right. I suppose that counts as a trick...
Yeah, not naming your second command is a bit silly. I mean, they just called her Number Two. Utterly ridiculous, if you ask me.
*shakes head* Lazy writers...

I agree....that it's ridiculous, because memory tells me that Picard would refer to Riker as Number One, and I think you're trying to deceive me, so I Disagree
-
Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
BZZZZTT!! Ding! Ding! Ding! Sorry. But Amidus was telling the truth. You were correct to Disagree.
Captain Pike's second in command was known only as Number One in the original pilot.
Bushranger gets the Square, and also gets to choose a new Square and Category. Felandria wins the game.

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
He clearly said Number Two, which I disagreed with, because I knew it was Number One, so how do I lose?
