Skald will quietly rise and prepare his bow but will remain where he is.
Hoggie and Rusty head out 120', and just at the point Hoggie figures he should turn around, Rusty's telepathic screams come through: "Look out!"
[Time stop...]
Spoiler: HoggieSurprise Round ...
S26-19: The very rock seems to come alive all around the two of you. Rusty gets hit for 1 mod. Hoggie gets slashed in the belly for 3. Something to the north pushes against him, threatening him towards the cliff, but Hoggie barely resists.
S14: "Some kina' stone demons!" tepes Rusty, who immediately takes flight and acrobatically moves well over the lip of the cliff and out of reach. With the danger having presented itself, it isn't like Hoggie needs the boost in sensory information Rusty affords him now.
S13-12: Something roughly handles Hoggie from the side, maneuvering him right up to the cliff's edge!
Begin Round One ...
R1T26: A "stone demon" (G3) moves very close to Hoggie to keep him from slipping past along the edge of the cliff. Another (G1) pushes against Hoggie to try to send him tumbling, but Hoggie holds firm. A third (G2) moves up to Hoggie to do the same from a different angle. Somehow, Hoggie's strength gives him resistance against the stone demons.
R1T17: Hoggie, you are surrounded by these "stone demons" that you don't even see that well due to the night. They have you on a very small bit of room to move around on the edge of the cliff. What do you do? Do you give orders to Rusty?

R1T14: Rusty floats out a ways, waiting to be tasked ...
R1T13-12: G4 claws Hoggie in the chest (5). G5 pinches a nerve and loses all attacks.
End Round One, Begin Round 2 ...
R2T26: G3 gores Hoggie in the left elbow with a horn (they have two horns, but only one really gets the elbow) for 5.
R2T20: G1 claws Hoggie in the left foot (7). His second claw is caught by Hoggie's attack, and Hoggie can make a free trip, bull rush, or overrrun maneuver (w/o provoking an AOO. It still has its other attacks, but this fumble catches him mid-sequence.
Hoggie, which maneuver would you like to use? Note, it is not your turn yet, and Skald has not yet had a chance to respond (his reply will go on his initiative in this round).
Hoggie is being pinned in and beaten off a cliff, so when the opportunity presents itself to turn the tide, he acts. He attempts to move through the space of the attackers with a maneuver of his own.

R2T20 (Cont'd): Hoggie is being pinned in and beaten off a cliff, so when the opportunity presents itself to turn the tide, he acts. He attempts to move through the space of the attackers with a maneuver of his own. It is a nearly titanic clash between Hoggie and stone demon, but he barely manages to push it aside and step past.
R2T19: With heavy, stonelike, scalloped wings G2 flies around and alights on the ground, trying to hit the man with a horn.
R2T17: Hoggie, what do you do? Do you have Rusty do anything?
Gathering his will, Hoggie tries to turn insubstantial again.

“Hey Pal? Can you try and communicate with these creatures? Find out what they want but be careful, they are very aggressive.”
R2T17: Gathering his will, Hoggie tries to turn insubstantial again, but failed. It happens when you are wounded and surrounded by stone demons.Spoiler: Psychic MagicSee "Psychic Magic," specificially "Thought Component" and the concentration penalty. It is assumed that Hoggie spent the MA to knock down the +10 hit to DC.Spoiler: Hoggie >>> Rusty“Hey, Pal? Can you try and communicate with these creatures? R2T14: A split second later, a reply comes back....Spoiler: Rusty >>> Hoggie"Umm, they claim that two of our band killed their ... king? Yeah, and they want payback. You want me to come heal you?"
R2T13-12: G4, flanking with G2, opens fully on Hoggie. His first claw misses, but it turns out he was only setting up for the second ... a claw that cracks Hoggie's spine for 16 + 1 DEX. It then bites him in the side for 5. G5 flies around to block Hoggie's continued southward movement, but it still appears to be reeling from a pinched nerve.
R2T11: Skald, now able to react to Hoggie, sends a reply...Skald again takes the form of a medium earth elemental and heads south along the mountain pass .... 20'.Spoiler: Skald >>> Hoggie"Try not to anger it. I will become an Earth Elemental again in hopes to also communicate!"
End Round 2, Begin Round 3 ...
R3T26-19: G3 flies over and tries to manhandle Hoggie, the embattled psychic swings at him, and neither succeed at what they attempt. G1 then tries something as well, but it turns out that Hoggie is faster than they realize and gets another AOO, this one striking the stone demon in the chest for 7, stopping him from getting ahold of Hoggie. G2 just attacks, clawing Hoggie in the right shoulder for 5, but the second claw slams into Hoggie's right leg with a crit for 11. It bites Hoggie in the neck for 4, an then gores Hoggie for ANOTHER crit by horns which spin Hoggie around for 8 + flat-footed!
R3T17: Hoggie, you are flat-footed, and this supercedes even your Uncanny Dodge. You don't know how long you will be "spun around" for, but you may attempt an Acrobatics (no movement, stay in place) to right yourself, and it is a move action to attempt. What do you do? (You can roll on Discord if you want to make an attempt, and then figure out what to do, but you can only attempt once a round.) In addition, Hoggie will see that his belted crossbow belt was destroyed at some point in the past round due to all of the battering he has received.

R3T14: Rusty flies in quickly and puts a paw on Hoggie for 13 healing.
R3T13: G4 just goes for the kill, if he can, clawing Hoggie's right shoulder for 8 from above, and another claw from below gets his right upper leg for 5, while biting Hoggie in the face for 6. Hoggie falls to the ground, still grilpping his sword, while G4 then gores Hoggie in the right shoulder for 6.
"NOOOOO!"screeches a piteously wail through the mountain pass as the telepathic connection with Rusty is severed.
R3T12: The stone demon with the pinched nerve wrenches the the elven curved blade from Hoggie's grasp and flies away.
R3T11: Meanwhile, Skald hears that screeching call and also realizes he is no longer in contact with Hoggie. What does he do? Even a double-move as an earth elemental, you only cover 40' in a round. They are very slow.
I will determine if any of the party awakes after Skald's turn at the top of the next round, so if you are not Skald, please don't ask, "Do I ....?" I will tell you if you do, please don't prompt me.
Realising that something is amiss, Skald will revert to his normal size and amplify his voice to shout back at the camp, "Wake up!! Hoggie is under attack! This way!"and take to the air drawing his bow.
Spoiler: Can you hear me now?
Attempting to use Stormvoice to amplify his voice loud enough to be heard.
"...a storm druid’s voice can magically carry over howling winds and peals of thunder. Whenever a Perception check is needed to hear the druid’s voice, the DC is reduced by an amount equal to the druid’s level."
R3T11: Realising that something is amiss, Skald will revert to his normalsizeform and amplify his voice to shout back at the camp, "Wake up!! Hoggie is under attack! This way!" He then takes to the air, drawing his bow as he flies.
End Round 3, Begin Round 4 ...
Everyone heard that, even if they didn't hear the smaller, more distant scream of Rusty (whom most wouldn't even recognize)! And it is coming from southwards down the mountain pass, the way you came.
R3T26: G3 looks to Rusty, and in a grating voice with halging Common it shouts, "For the crown that was stolen from our late king!" It wrenches Hoggie's headband off of his head, then flies away.
R3T24: Tom awakens, stands, sends out his aura of senses boosting everyone else's awareness, and then begins moving southwards.
R3T22: Kabsi, it was so loud, that you heard every word of Skald's call and snapped awake. The fire is burning, you see Tom moving 30' south of you moving south. What do you do?
Kabsi jolts awake. He gets to his feet and makes a quick mental effort to get his akasha flowing before running towards the commotion.
R3T22: Kabsi jolts awake. He gets to his feet and makes a quick mental effort to get his akasha flowing before stepping towards the commotion.
R3T21: Shouting Tree jumps up, grabbing his spear.
R3T20-19: G1 takes Hoggie's pack off of him. "To replenish our people of your people's robbery!" he says, before flying off. G2, who has vaguely feminine features, says, "Because it's pretty!" before taking off Hoggie's cloak (that also holds his talisman pinned to it) before flying away.
R3T17: Hoggie, you are in the fight of your life. Here, in the IC (NOT on Discord, any roll on Discord will not be admitted), roll a stabilization check. It really is about rolling a natural '20' on a d20. The odds are phenomenally against you, as it is a 5% chance, and even the sword that would've helped you is gone now. If ever you prayed to the dice gods, this is it.
Hoggie lies in a pool of his own life’s blood as it leaks into the stony ground. Robbed and beaten, his familiar laments his passing.

R3T14: Rusty, who knows he is being ignored because he is too hard to hurt and too inoffensive, puts a paw on Hoggie for 23 healing.
R3T13.5: Ix-Caban springs awake and on her feet, waiting for a command.
R3T13: As Hoggie's eyes flutter open and a major wound heals (signalling he is still alive), an earth demon scowls at Rusty, knowing that it can little hurt it and vice-versa. But it will not be denied a prize for itself and attacks Hoggie, who seems easy prey lying on the ground. From the first claw attack, the monster realizes it won't be that easy as Hoggie proves to be quite squirmy. The claw slashes Hoggie's forearm for 7 as he tries to fend it off. Once it catches temporary hold, another claw comes underneath to tear along Hoggie's stomach for 7. Hoggie holds up his hands to keep its snapping jaws away, but then it wrenches free and gores Hoggie in the chest for 4.
R3T12: Rhoha, you are awake. Now what?
Skald on deck, Sparkles in the hole ...
Rhoha
Startled awake by the druid's voice, Rhoha adjusts his suit before lifting himself into the air heading in the direction of the noise. He verbally berates Sparkles whilst doing so, momentarily forgetting to use telepathy, "Sparkles why did you not wake Rhoha!?"
Spoiler: OOCStandard Action: Reconfigure to remove tremorsense and get Perfect Flight back.
Move action to fly 35ft towards where the noise comes from. Probably spending 5ft of that to move directly up so Rhoha isn't digging a ditch in the ground with his face.

R3T11: Skald, what do you do?
Sparkles on deck, Tom in the hole ...
Skald will go through his normal combat procedure (ie. Abundant ammunition, Etc.) as he continues to fly in the direction Hoggie last headed scanning for signs of who attacked.
R3T11: Skald casts abundant ammunition on his quiver as he continues to fly in the direction Hoggie last headed scanning for signs of who attacked. He in the near-darkness beyond, he hears a scuffle, but he can't quite see it yet (because it is dark out).
R3T8: Sparkles knows better than to answer, but simply delays on his master, shivering in terror.
End Round 3, Begin Round 4 ...
R4T24: Tom continues to close.
R4T22: Kabsi, what do you do?
Shouting Tree on deck, Hoggie in the hole ...
Kabsi follows the source of the yell from earlier, looking for his teammates and/or the source of concern.
Spoiler: OOCDouble move towards the kerfuffle
R4T22: Kabsi follows the source of the yell from earlier, looking for his teammates and/or the source of concern.Spoiler: digimanSo, the very stop-motion, non-fluid nature of PF is, admittedly, inaccurate and weird. This is not a function of "how you are keeping pace, but strictly a function of your stop-motion initiative-based movement in relation to others. I am not going to math out who is actually where you are in relation as the party heads south.
Anyway, Tom is 25' ahead of you, and Rhoha is near the edge of your darkvision behind you.
R4T21: Shouting Tree says something to Ix-Caban and heads off at incredible speed, passing just about everyone (except Skald). He gets as far as right behind Skald when he finishes his move.
R4T17: Hoggie, you are prone, and there is only one earth demon assailing you, but you are feeling like it won't take much to drop you again. Other than Rusty sitting right by your head (readying to pop you with more healing), you don't see any of your pals yet. However, you do think you hear something to the northeast. What do you do?

[roll0]
R4T17: Taking the time to focus, the beleaguered psychic attempts to cast a spell on the defensive. This time, his concentration is unshakeable and his psychic powers take ahold of his form, turning his body into a vaporous humor low-lying on the ground.
R4T14: Rusty yowls threateningly at the earth demon.
R4T13.5: Back at camp, Ix-Caban likewise tears off at an almost equally impressive clip. The man, it seems, runs faster than his jaguar.
R4T13: His prize safe from his claws, and knowing that the cat-creature with the near-impenetrable skin isn't worth his time, the last of the earth demons spits a curse in a language Hoggie does not recognize, then adds in thickly accented Common, "We have struck for the honor of our fallen king. We will harry your steps and return." And with that, he flies away at double speed, well out of sight of any type of vision.
Combat Ends ...
The heroes, separately, converge on Hoggie's location with Rusty pointing out his vaporous trace.
Hoggie will right himself and end the gaseous form spell, wincing in pain as he straightens. He speaks at no one in particular.
“Be firm, Be fair, Be sure, Beware,
On Your guard take care.
While there's such temptation.
One thing will lead to another,
To late to run for cover,
She's much to close for comfort now.”
Spoiler: lyric
"Too Close for Comfort" is a popular song by Jerry Bock, George David Weiss, and Larry Holofcener. It was written in 1956 as part of the score for the Broadway musical Mr. Wonderful starring Sammy Davis, Jr., who released the song as a single on Decca Records prior to the musical's premiere.
"What's happened? Are you wounded?"he says to Hoggie, an unusual look of concern on his face as he sees the amount of blood everywhere.
Hoggie is horrifically wounded, yes.
Rusty touches him with a paw, giving him 25 healing .... and Hoggie still looks like he has got a ways to go.
Everyone is assumed to now be there at the site of the attack.
