Actually, I use Illustrator. I had a copy of it lying around for some reason. I'm not sure how hard it is compared to Inkscape.
Well, while I'm editing, whoever gets what the plotgoblin in panel six is talking about wins a cookie.
In an artsy kinda way, that's pretty cool. I don't think Inkscape is capable of the same kind of blurring in frame 3, at least not precisely

Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
Here's Mad Mask.
I pride myself on this one actually.
Also, I notice that Yoshi's comics involve his character not opening his mouth when speaking. Also! The plot goblin is saying: Bushel of Sticks? I'd like to say now that I take back anything I said about you in the Theoretical past.
Cookie Please!

I think you'll find that's Yoshi off-screen referring the same Bushel of Sticks as in Frame 3. The only plotgoblin speech is "Could you tell Joe to hang this fresnel at 54?" However, I have no idea what the reference is.

forgot that...
anyway, i shall have CANNON revenge upon him! probably in ABR X or something.
Ok. so who is doing the "Boomwolf VS that plotgoblin i cant remember his name that mechafox gave a katana to."? will I start working on it or somebody else does it?

Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
Do you reckon you could do one of me Jason?

I don't really expect anyone to know, it's a stage lighting thing.
@Motion blur: Actually, I export them out of illustrator and then make the comic in GIMP. Cool filters and stuff.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
Actually that blur is quite bad, it hurts my eyes to look at it. (really. it stings.)
Next time try to do a matrix effect (75% alpha, 50% alpha and 25% alpha copies of the character on after another) or using "falling lines", the blur hurts the eyes.

Anything's possible. I just now finished your template. That sword took me forever.

You've just earned a smack at our next D&D session. You could've at least made the glow around the scythe red, but hey, it's probably better than anything I could do.

Not a bad idea. I didn't like the blur too much either, but I didn't have any other ideas at the time. But, I wouldn't go so far as "hurts my eyes". That bad?

Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
Does anyone have any templates I could have? Or could the PM me on how to make an Inkscape Template? Because Threeshades is giving me no end of grief. And Crab-man... Will be off-panel. Because drawing him is going to give me carpal tunnel syndrome.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
Okay guys, we really need to get this plot moving.
We've got people bantering, some guys at starbucks and people diving into weird dimenionsy tophats.
I would, but it's almost 1:30 am here and i'm too tired to make anything.
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
just draw mr.pixie <--- then
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
there is no "rules" for making templates. every one makes another type.
I for exsample break the body to mulitiple parts then mix and match them in comics (on me i have the body, the sword, the boots, the fireball, several sets of eyes and mouths.)
The rule is, if you cant make the template by yourself, you should train more before you start posting anything cannon.

By the way, I don't make templates, that's why my characters hair is different in every comic.

actually, in terms of art the only rule is "if you can't draw it well enough that we can recognize which character youve drawn, practice more."

Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys

(it's not supposed to be canon, don't worry)

Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
LOL!!!
anyway, nice to see plot advancement "lord salmon" now lead our team into battle! (so i will have more chances to abuse mentmagic.)
also, the list of strips STILL does not contain the entire ABR IV, the last couple of pages are still missing.
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
I don't have time to fix it right now. I probably won't until late tomorrow night.

Really? I just used three lines for the blade, a seperate one for the hilt and the three for the handle. But, to be honest I got lucky, I just experimented with the blade until it came out right.:smalltongue:

Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
My Gaia Avatar is up for next week. Still draw me normally though, if you even plan too.
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
On average, how large do you guys make your banners?
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
My response to Lying's attack, part 1
if/when the curtain (think wall of iron spell) gets destroyed, the comic in which that happens MUST be recorded in the archive under the name "Mister/Misses (whoever destroys the curtain), TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!".

By the way, you're not falling to your death, you're just kind of... drifting. I'll explain who the little grey guys are in my next comic.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale V: Salmon and his Lackeys
Are these plotgoblins or what?
they look a little like plotgoblins...
