Welsh has six for "death", two more for "to put to death", and three for "to die".

Because every comic needs a 2001 reference
Yeah, but Welsh is literally gibberish, every other language has patterns of speech at the least...
Ah, wizards. Is there anything that they won't do?
DRAT! I can't remember what the "Dave" is referencing... and I know I've heard it somewhere. Now it's going to bug me until I figure it out...
WOO 2001 reference!
Given that he's bugging the heck out of the Captain, I'll wager it wasn't voluntary
Daisy, daisy.....
"good morning, dave"
'Bite me... Dave'
Zarah... the internet bows to your will.
because he's not in his true form? The 1st mate (or whoever he is) states "Oh, don't be fooled by his appearence! Captin Estilla is one of the most feared men in the skies! He's been banned from even setting foot in five diffrent lands! He's the man who fought entire armies with his fists! They say the enemies ran in terror! There's even a rumour going around that says his very willpower renders him immortal! Captin Estilla is the best-" in which case he's given a good slap on the head.
(intresting stuff is italic and maybe the captin slapped on the back of the head at the last sentance because he was getting a little over his head and about to reval something that he doesn't want people knowing)
... I like my explanation more...
I think romans were the people to make the word "decimate" meaning "kill every 10th person" or something like that...
Also, it may not be the captain at all, just someone acting pompous so no suspicions arise.
Not that I really believe it to be this way, but it's at least possible.
Anyway, nice comic. Not only for the reference, but even more so because of the interaction between the characters. I generally think this is what sets Anti-Heroes apart from many other webcomics: the characters all have their own personalities, but instead of hitting the reader over the head with them all the time, they are used moderately here, making them all the more enjoying.
...
Err, I guess I'll better stop before my praise turns into sycophancy. :smallamused:
So, the "ship" calling the first mate "Dave" I get. 2001: Space Odyssey reference. But why do I have the movie Alien tickling the back of my brain?
weird... both johnny blade and chaotic evil guy have the same avatars so I was really confused for a second there...
Just take a picture of your current avatar and use some program to flip it around.
You'll have the single most unique, run-of-the-mill avatars out there! (after Krelon...)
2001? I was assuming it was a Red Dwarf reference...
''Everybodies dead Dave.''
Holly? Dave Lister? No?''
I remember a D&D module with a sentient ship...it was for level 9-13 if I remember corectly.
huh,
and here I am thanks to Yeril with a really cool not-run-of-the-mill avatar (or what was it exactly you were referring to?)
EDIT: I put my old Ava into my sig spoiler for sentimental reasons
and related to this comic: great Odyssey reference
now, who is the real captain?
