Name: Taylor Shine

Title: Publicly…none that anypony would know about.

Race: Unicorn

Appearance: Taylor stands tall and strong in almost any crowd, rarely having any cause to hide himself. His white coat and golden mane add to his somewhat-off-putting-yet-at-the-same-time-a-great-look-on-him general stature. He has a few scars that he hides under a majestic white and gold-trimmed cloak, and a thinner one on his face that does almost nothing to detract from his physique or charm.

Strapped to his flank is a sack with numerous poultices, salves, and herbs meant to help him with medical assistance, as well as the occasional stick of incense and vanilla-scented candle. On his other flank is a pure gold mace with the head of the noontide sun, which, while looking decorative as they come, is more than sufficient in combat. As well, he has a small steel disc on his left foreleg that spins to full size as a shield (again, in the shape of a fully-risen sun) when he needs it.

Skills: Trained as a warmaster as well as a healer when need be, Taylor specializes both as a causer and remover of wounds in equal measure, bringing his light magic to bear when his golden sun-headed mace will not suffice.

As a unicorn, Taylor has natural magical ability, as well as more that has been added and honed by his faith and training;
Like most if not all unicorns, he can lift and move things telekinetically.
He has mastered bending of light around objects (including himself), allowing him to render things invisible to the normal eye.
He can create light from his horn to serve as a natural torch with much ease, although this useage also has little offensive or defensive benefit. He can, however, increase the brightness significantly, potentially rendering an opponent temporarily blind if they cannot look away fast enough.
By combining his knowledge of the arcane with his prowess at light magic, Taylor can achieve a sort of complete harmony between the two, and produce a solid-light construct. So far, he's only been able to use it to make himself a suit of weightless full plate armor, though Starbeam has speculated that he is only limited by imagination. Maybe.
By soothing the insides and outsides of a wound, he can greatly assist the natural healing process magically, or even heal the wound completely. In addition, Taylor is one of the presumeably very few individuals powerful enough to regrow an entire removed limb. Affectionately called a 'limbzoner', he is nevertheless very tired (or, at worst, mortally comatose) afterwards.
By magnifying sunlight and rays therein, he can focus sun beams around him to increase in heat and strike a foe, singing them (or decimating them with holy energy, in the case of those of undeath).

Biography: Taylor‘s parents were both devout followers of Celestia in their time, though not fanatics and certainly not to the same extent as the Rebels, and passed on their faith to their very eager son. Born of his fathers side, a unicorn, he was trained by his family in a small church to focus his magical talents on utilizing the natural power of the sun for energy, like a solar panel for magic, and pleasing Celestia enough so that he could without giving offense or drawing ire.

His family still resides at that church, but Taylor was driven by equal parts wanderlust and desire to assist his fellow ponies in his travels, and wandered Equestria for a time, striking up a friendship with none other than a Moonbringer of Luna, Rigmund, who shared his beliefs in helping to make the world a better place, even if their methods differed from time to time.

Personality: Going through what Taylor has gone through would arguably make anypony jaded and cynical, but he somehow retains the kind-heartedness, quick smile, and strong faith that he always has. He is not unaware of the views some cast towards the Iron Hoof, and by extension his own status as a faithful of Celestia, but he takes it all in stride much as he can.

Taylor realizes his role is two-fold; to represent the life and joy the sun brings to all under its light with his aid, but also to represent the scorching light of the Iron Hoof to the unjust and immoral.

Relationships: His former adventuring party (Moonlight, formerly Rigmund, a Moonbringer of Luna, Moonshine, a paladin of same and daughter of Rigmund, and Starbeam, unicorn wizardress with no fatherly or motherly ties she cared to mention) and his children (Zaros, Snowstorm, Flippy, and Daniel) are his only constant relations so far. And even then, only rarely. Until now.
