Magos Biologis Johann Syme
"At there most basic, organic life and technology is not that different. With enough study, both can be improved upon."
Amongst the billion of people that call the Forge world of Perinetus home, Johann Syme was born to a pair of lowly manufactorum workers. His early years were spent amongst the teaming masses, working in on the assembly line alongside his parents as soon as he could reach the conveyor belt. Under the watchful gaze of the Machine God, Johann toiled to the best of his abilities, not dreaming the fate that awaited him. The manufactorum's overseers noticed that Johann's work group experienced a statistically anomalous number breakdowns requiring the attention of the Tech-priests and worker casualties. Before simply simply recording the data as an outlier to be ignored, Artisan Petrarch Wujing (the Tech-priest in charge of the manufactorum), felt it significant enough to investigate. After questioning the other workers and studying the work group during their shifts, the Tech-priest discovered that Johann was performing surreptitious maintenance on the machinery, and treating the minor wounds of his fellow workers. Under questioning, Artisan Petrarch discovered that Johann had performed these acts as he felt called by the Omnissiah to perform the basic maintenance the machine spirits requested, resulting in Johann being recruited into the priesthood rather than being turned into a servitor. His additional talents in providing aid to injured workers sealed his placement in the Department Biologis. After his initial training, Johann found himself assigned to Senior Magos Biologis Augustus Empedocles to aid in the Magos' mission to catalog the life on a recently discovered world. After an experience that he if forbidden to speak of, he found himself in service to the Ordo Malleus.
