Grim dropped to the ground and listening carefully. Then he said in a low deadpan voice.
"Covered wagon pass by here. Two horses, one with rock in shoe. Driver wear hat, wife wear checkered shawl." Looking up at the others, he stared sadly.
"Me not hear that ... them run over me an hour ago."
Rising to his feet, Grim grinned, the smile extending in that eerie way he had, showing entirely too much teeth and stretching way too far. Then he starts to scan the building up ahead, sniffing deeply and listening intently as the others waited.
