I don't read chinese, no. And I think of the wuxia stuff as more of the atmosphere than a direct rip from asia; you can see stuff happening that you wouldn't normally be able to suspend disbelief for. For example, shortly Will can ride on his tiger, which could lead to all sorts of interesting trick shots and acrobatic stuff. It adds more drama and give an excuse to try out stuff that normally would be vetod, but it's allowed just because it would be that frickin' cool.
However, the culture of the Blackwood as is kinda comes from the decent of darkness that's going on in the setting, and less from any particular culture. I think it's best as a mixing ground of whatever sounds best, which works because the area (in my understanding, might be wrong) is kinda situated like the Middle East is. In the middle.
