Name: ”Well, my father (Taylor Shine, you might‘ve heard of him) named me Daniel Jovus when I was born (He says the ‘Jovus‘ bit was because I was all smiley and reminded him of my mother, whoever that was), but when I got my cutie mark, I thought I‘d be all clever and go by ‘Feathergrin‘. Leave it to Snowstorm to take all the fire by pointing out I didn‘t HAVE feathers (thanks, sis). That wasn‘t the point anyways! I don‘t have feathers, but hawks do, and do I ever have the eyes of one. ‘Grin‘ is self-explanatory, but since Snow wouldn‘t stop chuckling about it, I just go by Daniel.

…What do you mean ‘it sounds worse‘? Yeah, okay, I admit, daddy-o has a strange taste in names. His real first is ‘Sun‘, which sounds a lot cooler, actually.”

Title: ”I went through a classic ‘dark avenger‘ phase this one time where I called myself ‘Foebane‘. I had black leather, a spiky bow and everything. And it was awesome.”

Race: ”Earth pony, just like my half-brother Zaros. We used to joke that Snowstorm and Flippy got all the fun what with the bonuses, but frankly I‘ll keep my aim and mad lute skills over wings any day.”

Appearance: ”SO glad you asked! Well, I‘m a (handsome) stallion of average (but still awesome) height and build. I‘ve got a smile like the sunset and a constantly (charmingly) ruffled dark brown mane, which goes rather well with my light tan coat and dark magenta eyes that‘ll melt your heart. I never go anywhere without my handy satchels (containing a few necessities for my sometime adventuring career), my instrument, or my bow. I always keep a few special arrows on hoof, too. Flamers, freezers, different tips, and so on. The trouble I get into, I need them.”

Age: ”Twenty. I know this for certain because I never miss a birthday. Even my own.”

Skills: ”Unmatched skill with a bow and arrow, unrivaled talent with a stringed instrument, and uncanny knowledge of tropes and drama. Just…don‘t ever ask me to sing. My voice is subpar.”

Biography: ”Oh I could go for hours on this one. See, I don‘t actually know where I was born, per se, but I know that my mother up and disappeared shortly after I came into being and created whole universes with the extent of my cool factor. My father took me off to Scoltland (where I got my accent) to stay for a while, but eventually he went off, too. I always assumed he went to Canterlot as a noble and had a lasting influence on Luna personally, but that‘s ridiculous.

No, he got called off to single-hoofedly stop an unstoppable army of darkness and did it. Better than anything I could come up with! When I grew up, we reunited (I showed up by coming out of nowhere and saving his entire adventuring party, naturally. The entrance was dazzling.) and the rest may not be history, but it should be!”

Personality: ”Charming, good-natured, good-humored, and irreverent. Dad has a faux hate for that last one. He once asked me what I‘d do if Celestia showed up on my doorstep. So I answered like any pony would.

‘Oh how nice to see you, I was just making tea, come on in, may I take your long flowing ridiculously sparkly jacket?’.”

Relationships: ”At first, I really didn‘t fit in with my dad‘s whole…posse. I felt like I could never really match up to them or get respect. Of course, when that came out it took all of five seconds for them to each start raining praises on my capabilities and such. Turns out they just assumed I knew I was part of the family. Go figure.

I have a fairly cool (heh) relationship with dear sis Snowstorm. As in, I make a joke about her, she laughs, she makes a joke about me, I laugh, we both go stop a zombie invasion or something and stop somewhere for drinks. But Zaros, wow. No offense intended to anypony with older siblings, but I won every lottery ever for a big brother. Strong, courageous, skilled, funny, dashing…the list goes on so long I‘ve started to wonder if maybe Snowstorm‘s comment about my having a crush on him isn‘t entirely inaccurate. Plus, he‘s the one paladin I know who‘ll use the law to get me OUT of trouble. Win!

Speaking of wins, I keep expecting my cutie mark to turn into a four-leaf clover, because my life just keeps getting better. I am married to the most beautiful mare in Equestria, Moonshine of the Canterlot Lunatics (no, I swear, that's the family's ancestral name).

...Hm? Oh! Sorry. I got distracted there. Happy memories. We spend most of our time together, either at home or keeping Taylor from getting himself killed. That's a full time job right there. Sometimes, thinking of coming back home to her is what gets me through life's rigors. Aw, look at me, getting all sappy.”
