Would I be right in guessing (based on the surroundings) that Tor Hold is a log palisade garrison, with wall built not for a siege, but as a means of preventing raids? If so, closed gates could imply either a) they're dealing with regular raids in the past few weeks, or b) they've spotted something we haven't.

Also, are there any visible guards on the walls?
