TSM asked me to mention that he'll be posting this evening, and to apologize for the delay.

The DM tends to try and shoehorn it in as best he can. It can sometimes get a little sloppy, but usually it's just fine. Really, it's sort of an unavoidable side effect of play by post, but most folk just roll with it best they can.

Awesome, thank you. I was just wondering if the order of things happening was extremely important, and determined by round of play, like in combat or something... but TSM told me basically what you said, and added that it doesn't really matter so much with these character interactions as it does with movement in battle. I wasn't intending to interrupt him or anything, I just wanted to know whether I was allowed to notice him approaching yet or not till next 'round'. You see I'm so paranoid of doing something very very against the rules that I'm starting to imagine rules that might exist and asking before I break them.
By the way, I'd like to ask if Roen has any markings that make it clear he was born a Shebali? Is there anything about the appearance of anyone's character that would reveal their specific homeland, or something else significant, besides the obvious? Because I'm guessing an easterner, for instance, could make themselves indistinguishable from other easterners if they wanted. At the moment Neth wears things (beads, trinkets, clothing styles) with designs that would mark someone as from Rashemen, and one or two would show the specific clan. I'm just curious how much we'll be able to discern about each other. I'm very excited, if you couldn't tell.
