The efreet would have had much better ways of killing him if that had been the wish. Wishing for him to not pursue Zane would have required him to not be able to stare at Zane as he escapes.

Perhaps you could make a post with this thought process? Also, I'm guessing it is, but, would your character be the sort who makes these thoughts?
