Default Re: XCOM: One Does Not Simply "Shoot" a Cryssalid...

I got the game tonight. XBox version. It's the only game for my XBox besides Duke Nukem Forever that I've payed full price for (because I mean, I had to. )

Anyway, although I've NEVER played XCom before, after watching Iskandar's LPs and a variety of pre-release footage for this game, I decided to jump straight into Classic Ironman mode. I skipped the tutorial mission and got down to it. First mission, I got a total party wipeout. Apparently, it's Game Over if you wipeout on the first mission, but there was an option to retry. Second time I only lost half my squad.

The second mission, everyone survived! I count myself lucky so far. After two missions, I have 4 squaddies--one of each character class. An extremely balanced team, but we'll see how long that lasts.

I'm honestly surprised at how much fun this game is. I'm keenly looking forward to what the future has in store with this game.
