M&M is certainly powergamable, but what system isn't. The bottom line is that it is great for what it is designed for (comic book superheroes), and is still pretty good doing what it's not designed for. My problem with gurps, is that in trying to be usable for anything, it becomes good at nothing, like a swiss army knife with too many tools, it just gets unwieldy.
