"Settle down, Quill!" Maesyn hisses at the gnome. It may be the first time he has raised his voice in anger since any of you have known him. He holds the look a moment longer before turning back away.
"We are travelers and unfamiliar with your ways," he says to the wall.
"We would only stay here in the entrance way and proceed on our way in the morning, leaving you to your business. Is there anything we could do to prove our good faith in this?"
