Basically its uses are a bit more subtle.
#1. Immune to being sensed by mindflayers.
#2. Can sneak someone past mental sensors.
#3. Unaffected by torture, etc.
The trapping one though can be a bit more useful. Basically use yourself as bait and wait for someone to fall into you.
