QAGS is currently in the playtest phase for a version of it about just that, called Hobomancer. Set in the Depression, the players are all mystic Hobos who ride the rails, trying to keep the balance of forces intact. I played Thor Bumhammer, ex-park ranger and storm caller (a.k.a lightning rod).
