If he had left it at the first, "it sure is sunny today" I would agree, but with his explanation about how there is always more pain and death than there is sunshine, repeating the statement about how sunny it is, especially with that look, is pretty clearly stating, "I am going to kill me a shed load of short little white goblins if you are stupid enough to give that order."

I think it was both. "Violence is stupid, just let me leave. But if you do give that order, most of you are going to die."
