There is a fairly comprehensive list of available tags and their usage linked at the bottom of every forum page (it's the "BB code is On" one). Incidentally, there is an [html] tag in the list, but it's used for formatting code you intend to display as html source (to get programming advice on, for example), not for parsing as html to be inserted in the page.

This. It also automatically turns off parsing of BB code.
