The fact that it is a full-caster class pretty much covers that. The SPECIFIC abilities would tend to be highly overpowered if interpreted in the most obvious fashion anyway, since they basically came down to Polymorph Any Object.

If one really HAD to include something, just make it "neutralize attack" and state that it turns weapons, projectiles (with a wide definition to include boiling oil), into a harmless object or set of objects of the GMs choice.
