Assuming you don't object. The techs'll have to have done something to pass the time, now that they're all worrying.

Now then, as to the problem at hand...Disturbing. The security team aren't responding now, but did you receive any report? Any idea of what happened?

Feeling the vibration of the engines nearly cease he figures something is wrong, but doesn't know what yet. Working his way down to "C" deck and the security station he decides to pull a little rank on the security team on duty. Gentlemen, my name is Lt. Commander Romow of Star Force. I'm not here to take over your operation, so at ease. He said in a very ordering manor. I'm just here to ask why the ship has changed course and now seems to have stopped a few days out of our scheduled stop. And for your sakes don't hand me that line about standard operating procedures or a training exercise B.S. He stands there with his arms crossed and a stern scowl on his face until at least a sergeant answers him.

All I know is the last communication from them was when they entered the airlock. Everything looked clear, and suddenly the channel went dead.

Sir? Look, I'm not supposed to tell passengers this, but here's what I know. The Doctor ordered all passengers back to their cabins, and the ship picked up a distress call. I don't know more that than.

Err... Erica didn't order all passengers back to cabins. Just the ones in the medi-bay, to make sure they had room for as many patients as needed

That means whatever's affected the ship is an ongoing problem. And now they know we're here too.

Erica doesn't look happy

I've got the Med bay clean of any non-essential patients. We're ready to receive and treat any injuries. But if whatever caused this emergency of their's doesn't stop, we can't evac.

Who was on the security team anyway?

I don't know why I thought that. We'll just run with a certain second in command being overzealous and creatively "misinterpreting" your actual orders...

Ramirez, Fredricks, Stevens and Hoover. All good men, and they knew their jobs.

I'm at a loss here. I don't want to just leave those men over there, but I can't jeopardize the ship and it's passengers. Suggestions?

It's on "A" deck Sir. The Doctor is currently holed up with the Captain, but she's sure to go back to Medbay when the meeting is done.

Holed up with the Captain. He pauses long enough hoping the security officer gives him more information before he has to ask the next question. And where would I find the Captain? He asks slowly as he pinches the bridge of his nose like he's loosing his exceedingly short patience.

Ok, so....what ideas do you have?
This apparently opened the floodgate, as ideas started rapidly getting thrown around.

Well, how about we just leave?

That's no good....we need to send a better armed group of people over there.

I say we simply send up a distress beacon ourselves and wait.

Shut up Russo. You're the one who sent those four over there in the first place. Maybe if you had gone with them, instead of letting someone else take the risk, they'd have had a chance.

I think I spotted a few people in StarForce uniform amongst the passengers. I also know at least one passenger who's exceptionally competent with weaponry, perhaps a few.

If you guys are willing, I'll make inquiries. Find a group to back up a security team in securing... whatever's going on. That way, the interruption to the schedule is minimal, as is the risk, and it's delt with.

Well if that's where the good doctor is I'll just have to pull a little rank there too, he says more to himself than anyone in the security station as he marches off. Stepping off the lift to "A" deck he hails the ship's computer. Computer, Damn. He curses himself for his bad memory with names. What's her name? Where is the head medical officer's current location?

Llyrid was extremely annoyed - ordered back to the cabins, indeed! Just because the ship had made a detour, now medbay was panicking...

Instead, Llyrid flipped on the comm unit in her room, winking at Robert. "Hello - I'd like to talk to a Doctor, preferably one that knows what's going on around here!"

You grab a young crew member and ask what is going on. All you manage to get out of him is that they are responding to a distress beacon

"Well, I should hope not exactly attached, but I'll bring one with me, if you'd like. Although, I'd prefer my force-foil...could you get them out of holding for me? I have a...uh...energy disrupter...and a forceblade. Grab them for me, and I'll be right down."

Bianca puts her commlink away just as she reaches her and James' room. She opens the door, and swiftly goes to her room and shuts the door. Rummaging through her clothes, she takes out a skin-tight mesh suit, which she hastily dons after changing. She throws on a quick outfit over-top of it, and takes out a small metallic object which she attaches to her belt. While she changes, she begins relaying news to James.

"James, Doc Amleth sounds like she needs a gun-hand or two. I'm gonna be going with her in a moment, but if you'd like to come along, I'm sure an extra pair of hands could be useful. Grab your stuff and meet down in the Medbay, alright?"

She finishes and leaves the room, but not without giving James a re-assuring pat on the back.

"Don't worry, soldier...you'll do fine."

With that, she makes her way to the casino lobby.
