GITP Monster Competition Chat Thread II

Okay, so I just had this totally awesome idea: I'll make a pseudo-template for dragons that makes them play more like dragons instead of high-level sorcerers! To relate to the game thing, they'll play some game whose rules are too ancient for mortals to understand...maybe I'll call it "Vorxintall" or something....surely this is the best idea ever! <-100% Spite 'cause I can't think of a good idea.

Well it would breath fire, but it would also be reptilian so, no mammeries.

I'm on break for a few days, I might roll something up. I have a good idea of possible entries, I just have to narrow them down into something I can see myself using in a game.

EDIT: 2 days later, nobody else has posted. My Entry is up though. Fairly happy with it. Complex enough to be interesting, but yet simple enough a DM can run it with few problems (I hope).

Also, entries are a little sparse this month. Is it the holiday? Is it 4.0 catching up with us? The constant difficult to access this site? The contest theme? My constant questions? Should I just wait since the contest is only half way over?

Working 15 hours a day, had the flu, went on a quick vacation to the okeefenokee swamp, working 15 hours a day... in that order

It'd also be ever so swell if the friggin' forums would stay up! Comics are nice, but they shouldn't shut it down for days at a time, I mean c'mon...

Really like the Gamer monster. Well thought out, not too powerful, fun and with the theme, and even uses psionics quite well.

Hey all, got a question. Are the contests mainly just suffering from the down time or is the theme not so interesting or something else inhibiting the participation?

Well, my main computer is broken... so I don't have nearly as much time as I'd like to work on anything (I'm using a friend's to access the internet).

I don't think it's a problem with the theme. I mean, you got three way different takes on the same theme. The forum down time is really discouraging me from visiting the site and posting, and plus it's a really busy time for me at least, being with the end of the school year almost here. I only posted because I had a few days off from school and obligations.

A mix of forum downtime and collegic final exams. I wanted to make a monster for this one, but I'm just too busy with my own projects/school

Yeah, we're into the end of the academic year. That means everyone who's still in education (i.e. the majority of the people under the age of 25) has exams or needs to get assignments done. I myself have a piece of coursework in for 15:00 this afternoon, another for monday and a couple of exams as may begins. I still have a lower workload than most of my peers though.

Typographical error correcting is allowed unless VT changed the rules and I didn't notice.

Before anyone asks, the Taco Faerie is a bit of a joke. However, I plan to make a nice little set of creatures who belong to the family of kitchen nymphs.

Question: Can we make several creatures under the same entry? (ie kitchen nymph)

The mountain faires are now up. I couldn't think of a better name for them.

EDIT: I've though of a better name for them. They are now called Dringwr. The Welsh word for "climber".

My fey are Chelissadhu. Its meaningful see?! Chelicerata is the class of animals that arachnids belong to and dhu means dark in gaelic. Boom! Meaning!

What was the nature of this error? Personally I save a copy of my post in a text file every so often when I'm doing an entry.
