GLoG XV: Beware the Ides of GLoG

Butler nods again to Randman. "Hello again sir."

Catching his second wind he'll tilt his head a bit to look at Decker, still on his back. "You ready ma'am?"

Seeing that the little munchkin-man is talking to me, I unmute him, and say, Hello, there.

[Reinholdt]

"Good day to you sir. Are you new here, sir? I haven't seen you around much, sir." Butler decided to talk to Randman while waiting for Decker's response.

Oh, I've been here as long as GLoG has exi— well, almost as long as it's existed. I was just shrunk to a microscopic size for reasons beyond my comprehension.

...I tend to disappear a lot, don't I? I ask more to Turtle.

"I'm not a vampire," Turtle says. "I'm still alive. I have a heartbeat and everything. How do you like your steak, Randy?"

"I'm ready!" Decker says.

[Reinholdt]

"So long sirs, ma'am." Butler will rush off again, Decker on his back. He'll make it all the way to the laundry room before collapse tumbling onto a pile of dirty clothes, chest glistening with sweat. "Sorry about... that, ma'am. Can't... run any further ma'am."

Well, don't turn into one while I'm around. I'd rather stay alive and not undead.

Of course, part of me expects that to happen. The other says that people around here hate being predictable and will do something else.

I sit down at the table, put the slightly 'darker' book in front of me, and open the more basic book, by Tessa.

"I prefer to be alive as well," Turtle says as she cooks. "Yeah, Randy's been here from the start. And yeah, he disappears a lot."

Decker pounces on top of the collapsed Butler and hugs him. "I like you."

[Morty]

Wenomir enters the kitchen too.
Hey, everyone.

[Reinholdt]

Butler hugs Decker back. "And I like you too Decker ma'am." He tries pulling away a bit. "But I'm all sweaty ma'am. You wouldn't want that on you ma'am." Butler is being overly polite again.

Telepathically, to Decker:

You know, fixing things with Vidalia would be a lot easier if I could find her. The only time I want her around and she's nowhere to be found. At least you already have a replacement for me, I guess.


DC doesn't say anything out loud, though.

Don't be silly. He could never be a replacement for you. He's nice to me.

Decker lets Butler pull away and rolls down the pile of laundry, still giggling.

[Reinholdt]

Butler starts laughing a bit too, but not too hard. He's still trying to catch his breath. He grabs a dirty sock and holds it up to her. "Breakfast ma'am?" He'll ask, half laughing as he does so from the excitement.

There's no response.

Decker takes the sock from Butler and eats it.

"How do you like your steak, Wenomir?" Turtle asks, still cooking.

[Reinholdt]

Butler will lie there, occasionally looking at Decker and smiling. There's only so much one can say after all to a devil swan eating a dirty sock after a piggy back ride.

He does calm down and catch his breath, though.

[Vespe Ratavo]

Vespe is in the Great Room, sketching out something on a piece of paper. Alice is investigating the refrigerator (People in the kitchen may hear Why is it so cold and dark in here? coming from inside the fridge). Devlin, Victoria, and Jack are around, but I am much too lazy to come up with something amusing/relevant for them to be doing.

And now, after that silence, is the reply:

I guess I should go back to not letting myself get attached to people. It only ends in pain, every time...

Well-cooked, I suppose.
((By which he means he'd like it to be roasted/fried for a long time. I'm a bit insecure in my English when it comes to cooking.))

Hearing someone in the fridge, I open it, and peer inside.
After a second of confused silence, I ask, Should I get you a flashlight?

[Vespe Ratavo]

He'll see a girl, in grey clothes, with long black hair, looking very confused. Admittedly, no human body should be bent and scrunched up like that, but then again, she's not human. What's this thing for? And why is there only light when the door is open? That seems awfully impractical.

Turtle grimaces at Wenomir, but obligingly makes a steak well done. Blasphemy!

What did I ever do to hurt you?

It's because normally people don't stay in there. Only their food. So it doesn't go bad.

You should step out of there...

Again, I am reminded that weird is the norm.

"I think it ruins the flavour cooking it like that. But if you like it..." Turtle shrugs, and continues cooking the poor poor steak longer than any steak should ever be cooked.

Whenever I try to have a friend, it never ends well, be it my fault or theirs or something else entirely... You've proven that I was right before...

Looking over my shoulder, I say, I'm on Turtle's side here.

Decker doesn't answer, but DC can probably tell she's crying again.

Butler looks over concerned at this strange outburst. Decker seem so happy a moment ago. Why was she crying now? He'll pull her into a hug. "What's wrong Decker, ma'am? Was the sock no good ma'am?"
