Final Fantasy: Crystal Quest

Pomog

Pomog tightly grips the dark red serpent, wind blowing through his fur. He pulls out a large bell, the color of ancient bronze. He shakes it gently with one paw, and it makes a sound too deep for such a small device. This relieves him; it means his weapon is working perfectly.

He turns his head and shouts towards Kormanser, worried that his voice will be carried away by the wind "Don't worry about me, kupo! I may be small but I can fight!"

Nowe quickly looks around, and sees the Bangaas. Nowe decides the best course of action would be to proberbly be to help them, against these traitors!

Nowe speaks in an Ancient tounge and points roughly towards one of the fighting soldiers. As he does so the air around the soldier condenses, and begins compressing into a tight ball. Then explodes.

Sarpedon wipes a trickle of blood from his mouth, turns and heads inside after the princess.

Proteus's eyes grow wide as Scarlet appears. He yells to the men on the airship, "Shoot that thing down! Shoot it down!" The Pollendina's cannons fire, but Scarlet is too quick. He growls in frustration. "Hiryuu! Take care of it!"

Hiryuu walks over and looks over the edge of the ship. With a nod, he draws his spear and makes another jump, soaring back across the pavilion and landing right on Scarlet's back. Scarlet twitches in surprise, knocking Kormanser and Pomog off.

The Bangaas cross blades with the four guards at the gate, and seem to have the situation under control. Six other guards are moving up to attack from behind. Eunos and Nowe both shoot off a fire attack, each taking down one of the guards. The four others stop, turn around and attack. August leaps into the air, ready to strike.

Emerging from the crowd, Chara whips her skirt in a dramatic flap of cloth as she churns like a small whirlwind. Two twirls is enough for her to produce a buckler, and a leathery whip with a wyvern's barb. She launches the poisoned tip at an approaching guard (Number 3).

"Dusk comes upon us, and the blackest of knights gives in to the urges of the shadowy paths. The Orb glimmers with fate, as her secrets are revealed!"

Eunos' face contorts in pain as the guard strikes him and flourishes his epee, shouting:

"Di te perdant!"

With this he charges one of them (#3) and stabbs at several open points in the guard's armour.

Kormanser

Without taking his eyes from the guards, Kormanser snaps his fingers. In instant response, Scarlet disappears in a flash of vermillion. Stepping forward, the little actor holds up his hands as though to quiet a crowd. A supernatural hush falls over the mêlée.

Screaming like some primordial eagle, a brightly plumed mythic beast swoops out of a glowing portal high in the clouds and beats its wings steadily in place just above Kormanser, whose body has taken on an unusual translucency. As it holds relatively still, details come into focus. There is something vaguely draconic about the creature's head and talons, and altogether it is a strange blur of lizard and avian.

Dismissing Scarlet is a zero-action. Summoning appears to be an action in and of itself, so that's it for this round.

Also, none of the default fonts have the proper diacritical marks for ancient greek.

Nowe looks smugly at himself, untill another guard attacks him, wounding Nowe badly. Nowe turns and casts "burn ray" again, upon the guard whom just attacked him. Pointing at the next guard he almost mimics using a gun as he casts the spell.

Pomog

Knocked from the serpent Scarlet, Pomog gathers himself into a tight ball and rolls with the impact. Bouncing to his feet, he sees that humans have joined in the melee as well. Picking out an injured guard (Guard 3), Pomog lifts his Golem's bell and gives it a hard shake.

A deep, dull roar is heard. At first nothing happens - until the ground at the soldiers feet erupts in a cloud of dust.

"Hurry! We have to help the princess!"

Kuna attacks Guard 4, dealing 24 damage. The Blind strike misses.

He cracks a smile as he stares them down, and continues:

"Too bad you won't get the chance."

He then charges at the one that had yet to act hoping to take him down and let the others deal with the wounded one.

One of the Guards Nowe fried drops a Shortsword; the one Kuna beat drops a Potion.
Valefor disappears.

The gang of Bangaas finish up their battle at about the same time the party does. The green one with the eyepatch smiles. "Thankss for helpin' uss out. Name'ss Wedge." He shakes Kuna's hand and turns back to his gang. "Boys, these fellas look like they could use ssome healing."

Each of the Bangaas step forward with a potion, returning Eunos, Nowe, Kuna and Chara to full health.

Kormanser

Still clad in his ridiculous 'I'm a commoner, really' getup, Kormanser makes a dramatic gesture of urgency, waving them all forward.

We can't stop now, kupo! The princess still needs help!

[Fawkes]

Wedge's smiles fades. He nods. "Right. We just gotta get through this gate."

A heavily tattooed blue Bangaa speaks up. "Better make it quick, Bosss. We got company." He points to a much larger group of guards advancing toward the gate from the pavilion.

[Verdigris]

August surveys the scene, and notes that the portcullis blocking access to the castle has not fallen fully into place. Perhaps with some effort, it might be raised enough to allow the rescuers access?

"Wedge, is it? It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, good sir. I am August, though you'll pardon me if I say we should wait until later for formal introductions. I say, do you think if we work together, your men could help us raise the gate? I judge that it might be possible. Perhaps if I stand here, and you and your men right over there..."

August is making a Leadership roll to coordinate the bangaa and others successfully lifting the gate high enough to slip underneath. His skill is 50.

Wedge nods. "Come on, you heard the man, let'ss get to work." The five Bangaas line up along the portcullis. Each squats and grabs one of the crossbars. "Remember, boyss, lift with your legss. One...two...THREE!" With a great effort, they manage to lift the gate up a few more feet - enough to crawl under.
"Hurry through, we can't hold thiss forever!"

Chara

With urgent steps, she brings herself to the gate, scanning the other side for more guards or mechanism. She smooths her skirt, before sliding to the earth and attempting to slip through raised segment of the gate.

Eunos offers a quick bow to the Wedge and his men.

"I thank you for your help, I swear that I will do my best to make sure the princess is unharmed."

With that Eunos scrambles under the semi-opened gate and turns to wait impatiently for the rest to follow him.

[Verdigris]

August is next under the gate, his spear ready for further action. Before he does so, however, he turns to the bangaa.

"Good work, friends. Good luck, and if we meet again then I'll see to it that there is time to properly thank you for your assistance. We will do our duty, and see that justice is done."

With that, he slides under and stands ready to defend if need be.

Kormanser

Kormanser probably didn't need the additional height, but he's never one to be ungrateful. He flashes the Bangaa an encouraging thumb as he trots under the portcullis.

Break a leg, kupo!

Pomog

"Thanks for the help, kupo! We'll make sure to save the princess!", Pomog says to the guards.

He then steps under the gate, ducking his head just a little.

[Northforce]

Cradling his greatsword across his shoulder, Kuna gives an appreciative wave to the bangaa crew as he hurries under the gate after the humans and moogles.

[Fawkes]

Once the whole party gets under, the Bangaas let go of the gate, which crashes firmly into the ground. "All right, go ssave the princess! And keep the gate closed! We'll keep anyone from followin' ya!"

"They're here, Bosss."

Wedge smiles at the party, winking with his good eye, before spinning around, drawing his sword, and slashing at an attacking guard.

On the other side of the courtyard is a wooden door leading into the castle.
