I rant about Twilight....mainly because I dislike how idealized Bella and Edwards incredibly unhealthy relationship has become- even among my twenty something friends.

(I like Harry Potter, by the way. I love vampire and supernatural books. I hate when people want a love like Bella/Edward or Romeo/Juliet, because it's just....bad. It's codependant, abusive, and stalkerish.)

I've heard "abusive" quite a bit from Twilight detractors. I've never read the book myself (I have a strong hunch that I wouldn't like it ) so I'm really not sure what the issue is.

Can I suggest we move on before this topic goes round to discussing Twilight again? I already feel bad for starting it this time, and we've done it before, a few times. No, Twilight does not provide a good model for a relationship. I think we can all agree on that - and agree to disagree if we must - and get back to doin' what it is we do best.

Yes joe i do try to rise to the standards but i cant do vampirey stuff which for some reason girls(at least the crazed ones) think you can sometimes. Anyway Twilight is annoying and unrealistic.

Let mutual acquaintances know you want to put things right, wait a little while, maybe three days, then call them yourself. They may not be receptive, but at least they'll know you have good intentions and'll probably cool down enough for you to repair whatever bridge has collapsed. People rarely hold true grudges after all. Have hope.

Well, it's good that you're aware of that, but it doesn't make your problem less valid.

This is why I want to be a relationship researcher- get paid to prove stuff everyone already knows anyway. I thought it was general knowledged the idealized and impossibly perfect relationships would set you up for disappointment, which is why I term myself a hopeless realistic romantic.

I love romantic stuff and all, but I don't expect flowers every week or sunset picnics.

Syka: Sunset picnics are good! Also relatively cheap. Plus, it usually starts getting cold before you leave. Such dates were quite high on my "early date" list back in college!

It's always hot and humid here. :( Well, except for tonight the ONE night we're hanging out outside with our friends. oO One of the most romantic/cute things he's done: naming his ship in Pirates of the Caribbean Online after me...kinda. XD It was for my first ever character I made years and years ago.
