Re: Verisimilitude: A D&D webcomic in OotS style
I sincerely apologize for not sticking to my update schedule. More exams and a lack of creativity have led to me being terrible about getting them done. Luckily, I am still working slowly but surely on the comics and do have a new one. It's one of my favorites so far; I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Re: Verisimilitude: A D&D webcomic in OotS style
A statue indeed! I wonder what that means...
Updating is somewhat of a chore, but I find that I feel that way about the actual work part of all creative projects. Coming up with ideas and getting started is extremely fun, but actually sticking with it and putting in the time to keep working, even on the tedious stuff, is very hard for me. That said, I have several friends who are enjoying my webcomic and it seems to have a few fans here, so after I get each one done, I feel a real sense of accomplishment which makes up for all of the sometimes boring work that goes into the comic.
Enough about my creative process! Next comic!\

I wouldn't spend too much panels on a flying Arrow, otherwise, all is good.

Re: Verisimilitude: A D&D webcomic in OotS style
Well the gorgon/bull thing doesn't actually seem to move. Ever. It's always in that same pose. Also 3 panels, even if they are small, is a bit much for one arrow.
Also, the mouths again. The last 2 panels, blond guy. If I could make a suggestion? That line on the mouth, on the top right part of it. Try to position that so it's directly between his eyes.
A rough example there, but note that this does not apply in all cases. Because the head detail positioning is also dependent on the individuals personal drawing style. But generally you don't want the details on the other side of the head.Last edited by Tiffanie Lirle; 2009-03-15 at 04:26 PM.

Re: Verisimilitude: A D&D webcomic in OotS style
I moved the legs a bit, but I entirely see what you mean upon looking over it again. In retrospect, I should've chosen a monster that was easier to draw dynamically for my first battle scene, but in future comics I'll work to make much clearer, more defined movement!

Re: Verisimilitude: A D&D webcomic in OotS style
This is going well.
Heh, heh.
I know how it feels when you don't do art for yourself, and rather do it for the masses that follow. It starts to feel a lot like a full-time job. You just go on and on until you can't do it anymore, then take a break.
And start over because people forgot about you :]Last edited by Victor Thorian; 2009-03-15 at 09:39 PM. Reason: clearified the meaning

Re: Verisimilitude: A D&D webcomic in OotS style
Precisely.
I don't know if anyone else is familiar with Drunk Duck, but I keep my comic up there too just so I have an easy way to share it with some of my other friends... Anyway, this past week, I've been getting 100+ pageviews a day. I've no idea how, but it's kinda nifty, considering up until then I was averaging 20-30 a day.
Also, if anyone is an avid fan and is interested enough, I have a twitter where I will also be posting updates about the comic and other random stuff and also a facebook page for the comic itself where I will occasionally post additional artwork and updates.
Anyway, don't feel obliged or anything, I appreciate all the fantastic feedback here and will do my utmost to get a new comic out to you by the end of the week!Last edited by The Neoclassic; 2009-03-16 at 06:10 PM.

Looks like Adonis is useless to the group and likely to cause trouble.

Re: Verisimilitude: A D&D webcomic in OotS style
Panel 6-7: Are those entrails spilling out of the gorgon's belly? Nicely gruesome touch!
The Lazy GM series. Lovingly crafted pre-gen monsters for Pathfinder and OGL d20 fantasy.
