Since we're speaking of the gods, while the human goddess appears to be in cahoots with Gruumsh, she may help the "good guys" if she considers Jone to still be slaughtering randomly.

Which would lead to more sexual tension between her and Gruumsh.

Just noticed in the 5th panel the swords are the wrong way round. There swords would have to have passed through each other to end up like that

I can see your point, but for some reason she comes across as the villain of this arc. A monster that needs to be stopped. Excelent at war and all its applications, but lacking any real humanity. Can a Mary Sue be a villain? Somehow the Villain Sue entry doesn't seem to fit.

She's more of a force of nature than an actual character at that point; especially that she never talked. Being purposely created to be an avatar of war excuses her frightening skills and capabilities, though it might have been done more gracefully.

I really miss the girl who was happy to be a blacksmith's apprentice.

A shame she was stopped before killing Arachne.

Actually, I think it's a compliment to Richard Burlew that he has successfully done so.

In any other story, this character would be the hero of the story; fighting away evil monsters in Black Mountain and readdressing wrongs in the human lands.
YAFGC, however, has been back-to-front ever since the beginning and we're supposed to like the monsters and enjoy their enmity the the humans. That he has also turned a Mary Sue back-to-front and made us hate her in this comic for all the reasons that we would be supposed to like her in another comic is strangely appropriate and very intelligent.

Just as importantly, Mary Sueness aside, we all really liked Jone in the very beginning and as time went on we grew to dislike her more and more, which is perfect evolution for a new character that is slowly being revealed as... I'll say 'Evil' and assume that I made the appropriate exceptions to the rest of the cast.

Jone is the villain of this arc, and I don't think that anyone would argue that she hasn't been depicted as such. It's taken me a while to realise it, but despite a slightly dry period (which Mr.Burlew even deliberately broke up into smaller, more manageable chunks with other stories about Cadugan and Lucas, and Maggs in her tower) this is some very subtle storytelling.

Either Jone ready to kill one of them or Jone being killed will be Strip 1400.

After this theres a fragile alliance between the humans and orcs. Gruumsh still has another pawn that would be in a perfect place of power to manipulate this to his will. Just because he told Jone that this pawn was a failed experiment deosn't mean that there isn't a good use for him... or that he was even telling Jone the truth...

    sounds quite reasonable,
I'm a bit peeved about the obvious timing with 1400 and the filler "defeats" especially the typical villan attack strategy of "everyone has a go after the other"

turn left, only one cross try each.

Eh... It'd be more annoying if the comic didn't update daily... Its obviously padding to get to 1400 before the big finish, but I can forgive it since... well... daily updates.

Of course, considering Maula Bloodhand likes humans and some of the humans in positions of power like her as well, you'd think Gruumsh would just have to ask her to unite orcs and humans instead of creating countless mistakes.

Gruumsh is not supposed to be very smart. Also, he probably cannot imagine a diplomatic method.

Though honestly I would have expected him to be okay with Jone killing Queen B. It would have made Glandular Glon the king and given him another chance.

Gruumsh already lost all hopes concerning Glon and putting him in position of power would be a bad move concerning his lacks in the spine and brain departament (especially the fact, that he rarely thinks his idea through). Also the fact, that Queen B. is a strong warrior and a competent general probably makes her valuable in Gruumsh's eye.

Gruumsh may not be very smart, but I think even he realizes Maula's the only thing that prevents Glon to be killed by the Black Mountain inhabitants, possibly not even by the hybrid haters but by someone else for kicks.

Bloodhand's also the best orc warrior of the time so I doubt Gruumsh, patron saint of warriors, would like her to die.

EDIT: And Jone effortlessly slaughters the spirits of the best orc warriors in history before they can even attack.

    Why am I not surprised?

I certainly hope so. Jone's starting to grate me the same way Belkar did, though the former's more likely to have the decency of actually getting a fraction of what she deserves at some point in her history, which mitigates it a bit.

If she's not already. After all, if Kili and Lolth needed the focusing crystal to manifest on the material plane, how did Gruumesh manage to do it? Not to mention bringing his afterlife army with him?
