Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
to full extend I presume.
i.e.: Kurassa told them they would need it.
edit:
also I'm not so sure the mirror will stay broken:
If it was that easy to get rid of the medallion
(hiding it in the mirror and then smashing the mirror)
I'm sure it would have been done earlier.Last edited by Agi Hammerthief; 2010-09-19 at 11:34 AM.

Even if she didn't make that leap, I think she's made a conscious decision - better her father be stuck as a tree than such an evil man having so much power.

Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
Maybe you can use the shards to show the true form. But to get in or out, you need to have the full sized mirror (though if evil wizard has polymorph abilities, then it means bad things)

DM Fiat, the wossname is stuck as a tree, probably he'll wax on about it become a symbolic and metaphysical tie to the health of the land and the ties between land and ruling family and the fighter's player will fall asleep.
As for the kobold, he's a cloud cuckoo-lander, you're not supposed to understand anything beyond a random sexual reference and that they can leave.

Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
Ship's carpentry... what was the problem anyway? a hole in the hull?
Hmm.
It would appear to be a cracked hull, and quite probably also damage to the keel, which is "bad."
And then she's passing it off as a "meh," and that they just needed a few spare parts.
The obvious answer is that the guy just wanted to move along.
If we wanted to think about it further, we can surmise that there was no actual damage to the keel or that the crew had access to magical technology with which to fix a keel.SpoilerIf a ship suffers severe structural stress — classically during a shipwreck when running aground in a heavy sea — it is possible for the keel to break or be strained to the extent that it loses structural integrity. In this case the ship is commonly said to have "broken its back". Such a failure means that the entire structure of the ship and its machinery has been compromised and repairing such damage would require virtually re-building the ship from the ground up. A ship that has broken its back is almost certainly unsalvagable and subsequently written off by its insurers.
On the other hand, if it was just a matter of replacing a few specific parts of the hull, well, I don't know how difficult it would be, but it seems like something that be within the realm of the real-world possible for the ship's carpenter. Though it would definitely make one wonder what spare parts they're taking about, since it'd mostly just be lumber that'd be necessary...
It's possible they needed a new rudder as well, but that would be odd that they'd have obtained one from another ship without leaving the other ship in a similar but more watertight predicament to their original vessel.
In short, Bellisario's maxim is probably the best way to view it all unless he decides to explain himself.

Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
Could be that she just moved all the stuff over from the first vessel (broken) to Fang's vessel and made it different. The "spare parts" consists of a totally different ship.

Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
I'm not saying that's correct or anything, just that what with all the boats Captain Fang has had and lost, it seems likely that he had one and that it got jacked again.

Quite obviously, the kidnappers have taken Sidonie and the girl this Idries fellow is talking to is the actual Astrid Wormhunter. Clothing and hairstyle don't match between the two women. Plus the strip is entitled "confusion".
So, why is Astrid behaving as if she wants to pretend being Sidonie? Her enemies are going away with a red herring, so it's not for protection. Plus it doesn't really match her prior characterization.
I just don't get that "Where are we going?" thing.Hark! An avatar drawn by Kate Beaton!
