GLoG 18: It's A Brand New Day

Okay then, let's see what we can find in this place, I'm guessing it's a little different to the mean streets of Chicago.
Johnny walks out the door.
Maybe I'll find a tavern.

[Kaelaroth]

Kaela shakes his head, both at the awful, awful cliché, and at the idea of leaving the building. Turning swiftly, he runs back into the main base, quickly padding.

Turtle wakes up, not having meant to go to sleep at all. When she sees him under the bed, she crawls after him and reaches for the illusory kitteh.

[Kaelaroth]

Kaela, what with him being needed else where, explodes into nothingness with a splash of Chanel.

[Morty]

Wenomir undeadtimes in the training room, his players not being in the mood to read all those pages others have made during his absence.

[Kaelaroth]

Vorka also undeadtimes, and, unaware of Wenomir, slips into the training room, walking up to a target dummy.

[Reinholdt]

Turtle wakes up, not having meant to go to sleep at all. When she sees him under the bed, she crawls after him and reaches for the illusory kitteh.

Well that sort of breaks the illusion doesn't it? If it were one of Cal's you could probably pick up the illusory kitty, hold him, snuggle him, and such and not even realize it for a week.

But this is one of Reinholdt's. Besides, it's right awful nasty under that bed now.

Very nasty.

To explain what I mean you give you a pair of links. Aspirin and what it does to cats and Chocolate and what it does to cats (coffee as a lesser form of that and dark chocolate, the kind Reinholdt got the drone to bring him as worse).

To put it in perspective, one regular aspirin pill would be dangerous for a kitty his size to ingest. So two extra-strength combined with a large heaping cup of Joe and a bunch of dark chocolate and...

Reinholdt lays there among the mess. He doesn't seem to be moving.

[Boo]

Francis enters the kitchen, not really expecting much to happen today. No, instead, he does some COOKING! DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN! >> That's reserved for Lex.

One hour later:

After having prepared a buffet for those PC's just waking up from their deadtime snooze, he finds himself a nice spot on the sofa, and closes his eyes. He is in no way sleeping, but is in fact reading a book from memory. It's kinda to improve his ability to remember the small things, like why he was brought back from the dead. Yep, small things.

[Morty]

Wenomir notices Vorka and nods. Good day. it seems that he has just finished running around the room.

[Kaelaroth]

Good tidings, sir.

Turtle, who used to disembowel people as her favourite form of execution, isn't horrified by the mess itself, though she is horrified by what it probably means.

She pulls Reinholdt out from under the bed, while screaming for a med drone.

[Morty]

Wenomir apparently wants to say something, but then he hears Turtle scream.
Wait - is it Mrs. Amakirr screaming?

[Kaelaroth]

I am afraid I do not know, sir, I have not yet talked to her enough, and yet... Drawing a long, faintly shiney longsword, Vorka darts towards the detention cells.

[Morty]

Wenomir goes there as well, drawing his sword too.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt's still not really moving. Suicidal cat, sad to say, probably needed the star for a bit longer, as then he could only ask others to kill him and maybe could have been weened off of it. Though considering the star's power that seemed unlikely. It was rough situation with no real winning choices.

On the upside, Turtle didn't have to watch the part where he restlessly wandered around under the bed expelling everything in his body and eventually falling into seizure mode.

Turtle stops screaming as she realizes that the body in her arm is too cold. Too stiff.

"I'm so sorry."

[Kaelaroth]

Vorka bursts into the cell, and stows his sword when he sees the cat. Misunderstanding (he notes Turtle's sorrow, and that he'd seen the cat being treated with high regard earlier), he thinks that Reinholdt was some kind of prized pet, perhaps, or maybe even this Kaela he's heard so much about. Biting his lip, he pulls out his heavy magical tome, and starts flicking through the pages.
Looking for a certain ritual.

[Morty]

Wenomir runs in just behind Vorka. He realizes what's going on surprisingly quickly, and stands there, not knowing what to say. He's glad that Reinholdt's dead, but is rather ashamed of it.

[Kaelaroth]

Pausing on a page, which he tries to obscure, partially, with one hand (though, should anyone see quickly enough, they'd see he'd stopped at the chapter Magiks Most Foul). I can bring him back, miss. The earnest young knight says, wanting to prove himself.

Turtle ignores the men, instead standing up and carrying Reinholdt's body into the bathroom attached to the cell where she begins silently washing him in the sink.

She looks up at Vorka when he speaks. "He won't come back." she says quietly.

[Kaelaroth]

He.. Vorka says, not really sure how to respond. All right, then, miss. Quickly, he closes the book (although, strangely, it looks like he meets some resistance, as if the book doesn't want to be closed...), and leaves the room, pondering.

[happyturtle]

"Wait--" Turtle says to Vorka. "Do you... know how to speak to the dead? Not bring him back, but just talk to him?"

[Morty]

So, the cat finally got what he wanted.

[Kaelaroth]

Well, I've never done it before, ma'am. But, I can try. There are several spells of that nature in here.

[happyturtle]

"If you can. I'd be very grateful," Turtle says, as she gently washes the kitty's fur and a cleaning drone takes care of the mess under the bed.

[Kaelaroth]

Opening the book, Vorka flicks through it, biting his lips, pondering over which spells to use (and which he can safely use). Deciding on a fairly simple, basic spell that, hopefully, can't result in any other effects, he stands near Reinholdt's body, and starts muttering words of power, quietly.
Hopefully, this should allow Turtle and Reinholdt's soul to communicate audibly across the planes. Yet, as Vorka's a novice at ritual magic, there may be some odd effects. Some of the things ambient in Reinholdt's location may find themselves able to interact or enter this realm, and Turtle may feel even more unwell than usual, as the strain of a century-old ritual designed, originally, as a method to make murderers feel guilty by talking to their victims, takes its toll on her.
There's a chance, though, that none of that'll happen, of course. Up to HT and Reinholdt.
Once the spell's set up, Vorka backs away, looking pale, weak, and ill. It is done. Should you want to end the communication, mutter the word "fin", miss. Now, please... excuse me. Looking ill, he staggers away, clutching the book to his chest.

Reinholdt? Can you hear me? Turtle asks. It's Turtle.

[Reinholdt]

As previously, Reinholdt's in a special pretty empty realm. This is due to him being outside of his dimension and therefore technically outside of the gods' jurisdiction here. Though they do agree he has to go somewhere (probably really, really bad). There is just disagreement over where and how much would be too much or too little.

Silly bickering gods not making up their minds and getting it over with. End result is nothing to interact or enter the realm.

Short reply, "Yes."
