Hawaii succeeded during WWIV, and in exchange for use of their air bases during the war, Americas enemies recognized their statehood. Having just seen Democracy at its worst, Hawaii became a Monarchy under the short-lived ruler ship of the Pancost Dynasty. Less then twenty years later a series of unfortunate deaths extinguished the Pancost line, and the Scarrets inherited power. They renamed the archipelago after themselves, calling it The Scarret Empire. The small country went mostly unnoticed until 2120 when it was discovered that a fungus that grew in the reefs off the the islands had extensive biological applications. Experimenting with the fungus, which has thus far proven to be unsynthesizable in a laboratory, has catapulted The Scarret Empire to the forefront of medical advancement. The fungus has been named Escot, after the scientist that discovered it.

In 2123 a snipers bullet brought down Drake Scarret I when his only son, Drake Scarret II, was still an infant. His mother, Ella Scarret, has been declared Queen Regent until her son's 20th birthday in 2141. When Ella is preoccupied with her duties, he child is cared for by Ella's sister, Eve Fletcher. Eve is highly loyal to her sister and is protected by specially trained government bodyguards even when Drake II is not in her care.

On the more political front, Ella has chosen six Advisors to help her in running the government.

In the year 2025, the world was running out of oil alot more rapidly than expected. Then the English struck gold, well black oil under the hills of Cumbria and the plains of East Anglia. With the advent of oil running out however, the English pumped more and more money into clean technology, money that they were gaining from selling oil to the rest of the world. The major breakthrough came 12 years later. 2037 the British Isles suddenly boomed, fusion technology, clean cars - and everyone wanted a piece of it. So far the largest they could power were large industrial machines, aircraft couldn't yet run on anything but oil, and spacecraft were for the moment beyond the reach of hydrogen cell power as well. However, realising the bargaining tool the British had, they held onto it, forcing the rest of the world to pollute themselves futher with nuclear power and buy the british oil. Because of the advance in the economy England bought more gold, waiting for the next worldwide economic fluctuation, and the pound sterling stayed afloat worth more. This mini-recession happened in 2055. 2056, England invaded Ireland. 2058, Ireland was annexed and Scotland brought fully back into line with England. 2060, the rest of the world had caught up to Englands hydrogen cell power, but unbewnonwkest to the rest of the world, England had been developing fusion power since 2037 and soon it would come to fruition. After the collapse of the EU, and China and the USA's war England came back onto the world-stage as a major superpower. Their economic power was slowly dimishing from 2080 to the present day, but in the past 55 years, their fusion power has come on leaps and bounds. The standing army is now fully equipped with liquid gel armour and small portable shields, as well as early beam weapons. Aircraft and veichles now has fusion powered cells, but unfortunatley almost all of Englands spy network was wiped out on a secret mission in 2121, only 4 years ago. Small additions had been made to the New British Empire since 2060, now holding Brittany, Normandy, Belgium - after the collapse of the EU and Iceland.

Strengths: Technologically advanced. 0 Pollution output. Powerful economy, well trained and equipped army. Good defence capabilities.

Weaknesses: Army is small. Most of Europe feels at best neutrality towards them. Hardly any spy network left except what is internal. Serious lack of land for populace that is left. Semi-police state enforced since acquisition of Ireland.

Leader : Prime Minister Margrat Thatcher II

Following her great great great great grandmother of the 20th centuries example, she has done a huge amount for the Empire. She has given everyone work who needs it and on top of that she has attempted to make everyone happy. Ruling with an iron-fist though she is much the same in dealings with foreign nations, if they treat her with respect she will treat them with the same amount of respect back. However with a short-fuse, if a foreign nation says something that angers her she will lash out. If there is a heinious prisioner she will sentance them to death.

Minister of War : Daniel Smith

A 57 year old man, he is set in his ways. He looks for new acquisitions whilst still looking for the quickest way to defeat any possible threats to the Empire. He hates spies, and if any are captured at all he will kill them without a second thought. He is feared by friends and allies as well as enemies.

Minister of Technology : Kathryn Moore

Actually born in Ireland but by British parents, she has an unbridled passion for knowledge. She is only 26 yet holds three Phd's from Oxford and is heading the technological advancment of the Empire. Not much more is known apart from the fact she is always fully immersed in her work, and has no surviving family.

Main Diplomat to other countries : Jessicca Jones

With a quiet compassionate nature, she is sent in place of Margrat Thatcher, to countries for either first contact since the great WW IV or when Margrat has already been and has decided she doesn't like them. She always aims for a compromise if neither's aims can be fully achieved. She has no husband, but is a widow of 31 years with 2 twin daughters aged 7.

When people here about the Antarctic, they immediately think of the vast ice wasteland. Within recent years, after wars and suffering, a rich nobleman of Italian birth set up the SR, a place open to any and all immigrants.

With his families fortune and the backing of several powerful investors, Count Julius VanGoh created domed hab complexes and underground cities. Terraforming inside controlled areas was conducted.

Now the Republic is thriving and happy, with people of all ethnicity and social class living together. The official government is a republic, with a "Count" figure head. Julius's great grandson, Kane, is now head of the family and rightful owner of the South Pole.

Strengths: The people of the south pole are an incredibly tight-nit bunch who would do practically anything for each other. Technology (by necessity) is also high. The SR military is an amazing defense, perhaps the best in the world, but weakish on attack. The only thing good at that is their phenomenal navy.

Weaknesses: It takes a lot to feed and run all these people so economy isn't the best. Also offensive capabilities is generally limited to the navy.

Leader: Count Kane Vangoh- Kane is an easy going man, chosen for his brilliant mind if not his work ethic. He is married with five children.

Head of The Bulwark: General Richard Claus- A native Australian, he has taken up the mantel of coordinating the defense of Antarctica.

Speaker for the Senate: Kyle Rojers- an American who once had an amazing political career in the US before coming to the SR.

External Operations: Admiral Laura Nimitz- An African woman who was a prodigy. When her country was invaded and crushed she fled to the South.

Head of the People's Police: Isabel Vangoh- Kane's wife and head of the SR's spy network.

The United Republics of Man (Wizard of the Coat)

The Unified Republics of Man
"Ad astra per unitas"

Better known under the name Lunar Republic, their most dominant member that serves as the capitol of this collective of small states.

In the mid 21st century commercial space technology had matured enough for reliable entry and re-entry. A conglomerate of these companies unified into the Lunar Corporation, seeing the potential that this as of yet untapped resource offered them.

With WW IV breaking out in the late 21st century the Lunar Republics declared their independence from the 'failed' earth governments, few could resist this though many of it's terrestrial holdings were nationalized. Still it's role in the event's to come were great indeed.

Being a series of research labororaries, hotel resorts, mining and low gravity production facilities the fledgeling Lunar republic was short on two things, people and supplies. Fortunatly those that were on Luna at the time of when the hostilities brook out were in no hurry to return home. In addition most of these people were leaders of industry, leading scientist and other affluent people, technology still not fully allowing every day people to afford the trip.

More people however saw that this was a potential haven from the ravages that the war would soon inflict and in the initial few days after the independence declaration many shuttleload of the earths brightest mind left for the safety of earths galactic brother.

With so much talent put together solutions were found swiftly and in the early years of the war the republic flourished in its prosperity. Still as the war ravaged on more and more in the republic called for aid to their fellow man left behind and so it happened.

In a solemn declaration the Unified Republics of Man were established, innitially comprising of such small and diverse states as Nepal, Chili, Surinam and Ethiopia later additions have included Burma, Afghanistan and a newly independent Tibet.

Each of these groups has a number of representatives on the council that changes every seven years. Though individually these members have local democracies and customs the collective government is created indirectly much like present day Europe. Unlike present day europe however the members have given more or less given up their sovereignty and the members are run by an elected board of governors, each with a chair. In reality though Luna dominates the Union and talented people from all other members often are granted Lunar citizenship.

The lunar republic itself is the one of the most advanced (if not THE most) fraction on the planet, especially in space, recycling and computer technologies where it leagues ahead of others (a situation created out of neccesity). It maintains the largest space fleet and relies upon it's remoteness and easily monitored acces to keep it safe from foreign interference. (those entering are screned thoroughly).


The protectorates on earth cause strong fractionalism, each still maintains it's own national army so those troops are not in the direct line of command, making a co-ordinated attack difficult, yet generally a defence causes them to rally together.

Economically they are at best a moderate power, relying on high tech goods developed on Luna and marketed through the member states.

The power of the British empire in the pre-fusion years forced many countries to bargain in nuclear waste. Trading in it for depleted uranium rounds, using it in nuclear 'dirty bombs' and eventually just selling vast plots of space wholesale to save their struggling economies from collapse. Libya, Algeria, Chad, Mali and many other countries all unionized to form a land selling empire. They bought up the wastes of the sahara desert from the nomads and sold them to waste relocation fronts. The nomads then re bought their land and died of radiation they didn't know was there. By 2054 the entirety of the sahara desert was radioactive to a point where any more nuclear waste would threaten to irradiate the surrounding nations. The United Wasteland Corperation refused to accept any more nuclear material. This massive crash in the value of nuclear power in turn caused the crash of most automotive, computing and industry companies. The world had come to rely so heavily on nuclear power that most nations couldn't even support a third world economy without it. England could have dominated the entirity of the world if not for the fact that China and America pooled together their coal reserves to help defend Germany in World War V. After this...

Unbeknownst to the UWC the inability to store more nuclear substance was part of an intentional sabotage on the part of the nomadic herders. Two years before news of the proposed purchase of the Sahara was made, the shamans of several Bedouin tribes predicted it. These Bedouans began constructing hundreds of underground tunnels to house them when their lands became a nuclear wasteland. In their exile, they began refining desert sand into powerful silicate based computers and technologically surpassed the most powerful computers known to man. For twenty years, they studied the core concepts that made up a computer. In 2046, they had to begin suspending their efforts as the large scale nuclear dumping that was occurring above them was estimated to begin leaking through in two to five years. Using their newfound technological skill, they began covering the entire desert with radiation shielding, twenty feet below the surface. When the UWC discovered that their uranium wasn't seeping into the sand as predicted, they attempted several mining expeditions, all of which were killed. Sadly, the nomads, now called the Black Sun, had to suspend their technological studies. They had been secretly controlling many of the world technological corporations through shadow leaders and sly economic moves. When they lost this control much of the world suffered a technological halt right as they suffered a power meltdown. During the blackout years the Black Sun focused their efforts on several programs they had been striving to complete. They placed hundreds of satellite invisible solar panels on the desert surface to become power independent. They began a massive campaign of espionage against the english, stealing their technology and sabotaging their economy to make sure that they didn't succeed in their campaign of military control over Eurasia. They even achieved an artificially intelligent machine to attempt to control the economy. Since then, they have been dominating the economic and technologic sectors of the world. Illicitly trading their own technology and pirated English technology for years.

E.C.O.N.O.M.- The Economic Controlling Overt Neuralgic Observing Machine has run the economic sector of the Black Sun since the last Economic failure and has found this experimental campaign very successful

Assif Moardine, head of espionage- Assif, great grandson of the High Shaman, is a skilled spy and an upstart in Black Sun society

The High Shaman- A title inherited from the original shaman who predicted the purchase. The current high shaman performed an experimental process to download his brain into a massive processor so that he could continue on living. The location of the processor remains secret to all but the High Shaman himself.

Dr. Phalanx- A scientist of unknown origin, Dr. Phalanx heads the front of the WarBot program

The Steel Republic (FF fanboy)

Reason for forming:
Back in 2065 a large, and nasty civil rebellion broke out after a declaration of martial law by Despot Lord Nikolai Nevorgain due to a outbreak of looting, and yet another economic depression, which had been one of MANY that had put the nation into such a severe state of decline that even Kings struggled to afford proper food. Needless to say, people were angry, and afraid. Their children were dying in the streets while they lay helpless to do anything about it, much less save themselves from the same fate soon to come. So, they blamed the government for poor management of resources, and rebelled against them a young steel mill worker leading the head of the united militias against the Despot Lord that had taken up residence in the only livable building after the weapons facility meltdown of 2060. The attack was unnessescary as the guards of the building were poorly armed, and starving themselves, but it was a morale thing to take the building by storm. To show the people that in a single act of unity that had been able to acquire food for the night, and take a step themselves towards the long road to recovery.
On that day the young steel mill worker who's old name was unimportant took upon himself the change that he saw for Great Russia that day, and from that day forth he was a young lad no longer, but instead he was now Nokav Iredan, or in the language of NEW Russia Forged in Fire.

The road to recovery for New Russia:

Now, things obviously weren't going to be easy for them with the obvious food shortage, and the so called "Feast of Famine" that had occured after the raid of the Despot had been overthrown food was rarer than ever, but Nokav Iredan was not one to give up easily, and sought out rich soil in the lower mountain ranges that lined the capital making it both a excellent choice for farming, and itself already serving as a natural buffer likely to be avoided in times of war due to aerial transport of troops not landing on the borders unless your facing a militarily retarded enemy. When he got there he found that his theory of the untouched mountain valley being fertile (some call it common sense...) was found to be true as corn, and other much needed crops began to grow.... It seems as if the nation was finally coming out of its string of recessions, and depressions with food now available, and its people able to focus on textile, and military crafts that will allow them over the next 5 years to go through a "econmy, and population boom." going from the former sparse population to brand spanking new cities forming quickly, and being filled even quicker as new leaps are made.

Civilization restored. Now to catch up with the rest of the world:
With their limited amount of technology available due to the numerous weapons depot explosions, and the plain out halt of all weaponry development period... They had to adapt, and fast to the ever changing world around them. Alot of the other nations were ahead of them technologically, but not in tenacity. So, after a group of higher tech spies got caught by a neighborhood watch (How embarrassing for a international spy eh?) they confinscated their stealth technology, and adapted what they could to meet their own military needs; leaving them with a rather difficult basic training for their army with the complicated rifles, pistols, and armor that they had managed to confinscate, and reverse engineer. However this set the Russian scientists on a whole new track in 2090 when they made a breakthrough when they saw that through the manipulation of the security coded (shorts out if shot by another person with another genetic signature.) magnetic "regulators" that had been a intergral part of their millitary technology they found themselves able to reproduce organs, but thats not the big breakthrough... With the persons exact genetic signature they reproduce vital organs such as the brain that retained all memories of the past life, and effectively allowed reincarnation of every great mind, or soldier that ever lived, and had donated his/her body to science, or in the case of some diplomats their preserved forms restored to full life. This breakthrough was amazing for the Russian republic giving them access to virtual immortality if some of them could be retrieved.

The Commonwealth Republic of the Aotearoa Peoples (Adlan)

The Commonwealth Republic of the Aotearoa Peoples, and their Holdings.
Religon: Christian ruled

The Country that was New Zealand remained neutral during the IV great war, but suffered greatly from the economic effects of that war, with it's large population unable to feed themselves with the imports of food stopped. This resulted in a rise in ethnic strife and violence, mainly against the East Asian Immigrant population, who by now consisted of nearly 1/3 of the islands population, but only 1 in 10 had any form of higher education. Violence on both sides was fueled by religious tension, and the immigrants desire to enter into the conflicts effecting their homelands.

This Culminated in the Christian Socialist Party electing a leader on 3 manifesto promises. To Provide enough food from farming and fishing, Build a New self sufficiant planned Economy, and to 'deal' with the 'immigrant problem'.

The Official Manifesto seemed to suggest repatriation, but this was not what the goverment had in mind. A Virus was created. Simple in it's concept, it was a modified rhinovirus, simple in that one did not get better, a victim would die within a week, and of course, there is no cure for the common cold. The truly hideous thing about this was that it had DNA specific targeting. Unless you possessed a certain marker on you Y chromosome, it passed you over.

Within a Month, 9 in 10 of the Immigrant Populations males had been killed. Within another fortnight, the whole Country was up in Rebellion. The CS Party had misjudged the populations level of anger at the migrants. And their Scientists had misjudged the rhinoviruses mutability, as it began to affect Maori, European and Asian alike.

The Goverment could not of held onto power, save that, in a twist of irony, they hired mercenary soldiers from East Asian Powers, to enforce their laws, resulting in a bitter Gurillia conflict, in which Immigrant, Maori and European irregulars fought on both Islands, and at sea while the Mercenaries made reprisals against the mostly women and children that made up the civilian population.

All told, 23 Million People died, from disease, conflict and starvation caused by ruinous social policies and warfare.

But, at the end of it the Rebels won. They then Proceeded to Drive the Last remains of their oppressors out of the Relm of Newzealand, and off the face of the earth, Defeating them on the Islands the CS Goverment had Annexed, Tasmania, the Falklands, The Ross Islands, the South Orkney Islands, Bouvet Island, Amsterdam and Saint Paul, Kergulen, Crozet, Heard Island, the McDonald Islands, and the South Sandwich Islands.

Representatives from all these Islands (few of which had any native population, but all of which were then settled by military forces), from the heads of the victorious rebel movements, and from those politicians who had been moderates and opposition to the Socialist Party all met, in Dunedin.

Over the Course of 6 months, they reforged a Nation, based on the Principles of Personal Freedom, Individual Responsibility, The Seperation of Church and State, and the Prevention of Monopolies. A Bill of Human Rights and Responsibilities was Established.

This was 50 Years Ago.

Aotearoa today is a not insubstantial regional player, though not as advanced technologically as many other countries (indeed, it is the countries national sterotype abroad, a Dumb, leather and fur clad, hunting, shooting, fishing technophobe), and thanks to the virus, their medicine is much lacking, as there is still much distrust of genetic manipulation. The Population however, has recovered quickly, and the demographics are young, and highly skilled. Economically, A Strong fishing fleet harvests all the seas bounty, from penguin to seal to toothfish. In addition to a Strong fishing fleet, the merchant marine is the other major asset Aotearoa has, transporting goods, and raw materials across all the southern hemisphere, and much of the northern. Lumber, Wool, Seabed Mineral Wealth, Oil, Gas and plastics, provide much of Aotearoa's exports. Their Imports are mainly manufactured goods, Luxury foodstuffs and technology.

All Citizens in Aotearoa must do 3 years National service in the Fishing Fleet, Armed Forces, or 5 years in the civil service, if they wish to have the right to vote or stand for office. This Means most do not get to Vote until 21, although for most other things (Intoxicant Consumption, Age of Consent, Driving, Private Purchase of Firearms) the age is 16.

In the Military, Their Fleet of Outrigger Destroyers and Frigates is the Largest in the world, though they are outclassed in Aircraft Carrier's. With the Holdings Across the Sea, they are never far from refuel and resupply, and ensure both the fishing and mineral rights of Aotearoa is respected, and no shipping is molested.

Only Once in the Last 50 years had the Military been used, an ill fated expedition by another power (OCC: Which ever the GM wants), to claim one of Aotearoa's holdings (OCC: again, upto the GM, I suggest Crozet) and the vast mineral wealth under the seabed around it.

The Small Native Population immidetly resisted, many veteran of the rebellion had settled there, and every Adult had military training, and though not compulsory, personal firearms were ubiquitious.

With Natives fighting hit and run on the invaders, the landforces never managed to get a firm gip on the island, and were Captured whole when 4 companies of Marines, landed, with Artillary Support from 2 Frigates, While a Longrange Bombing run from the Aotearoa Air Corp. destroyed the invaders ships.

Currently, Aotearoa exists in a state of armed neutrality, more than happy to live in peace and free trade (particularly freetrade), but also exceedingly tetchy in public opinion on defense of the Commonwealth.

Weaknesses: A population within which goverment participation is popular, meaning public opinion on many important matters (those not constitutionally set) sways political action. Governor General: James 'Jim' George Haka. A Tall and Powerful man, now in his 70's but still going strong, a former rugby player, with te Moko, a Broken Nose, and 2 missing fingers from a grenade, Jim Haka was Elected Governor General last spring after a long career as a minor Politician, He started in Politics as a Rebel leader, and is still thought of as a Hero by many. The Position of Governor General is a peculiar one, Politicians can serve for (3, 6 and 1/2 year terms) at most, and mainly their role is Foreign Relations, Appointment of the Cabinet, and the Supression of Factionalism. He is Also Commander in Chief of the Army, Navy and Air Corp.

The Cabinet:
Unlike many other countries, the Cabinet of the Commonwealth is not Controlled by the majority political party, instead, people elect their representatives, and then the Governor General, who is generally a non factionalist. He then picks the most capable for the task. Goverment in the Commonwealth is quite limited in what it can and cannot do, and the system so far seems to work.

Minister for War: Humphry Vasa, a stocky, broad, blonde and blue eyed individual, is one of the younger politicians, at 32. He was also one of the youngest Marine Captains in the Corps. Untill he had both legs burned off in the defense of (Crozet?), He manages more than fine on two advanced artificial limbs, but no longer able to pursue his career, he found his status lead to politics, He has an Abiding emnity for (whichever country the GM decides he wants to stir trouble with).

Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries: Simo Iban Dayak, a small woman, is a petite looking former kickboxing champion, Descended from malasian immigrants, her main constituancy is that of fishermen and their wives, herself being a widow of the sea. On Agricultural issues she is heavily, but wisely influenced by her private secretary, Bernard Appleby.

Minister for Trade: Charlie Dimmock, an Imposing, bulky man, much given to jovial laughter and fish 'n' chips. He Has bright red hair, now much receeded, and is famous for being both Anti-Car, and caught for drink driving 3 times. He is astute, and devoted to the principles of free and fair trade.

Minister for Home Affairs: Daniel 'Whiskey' Priest. A so called Devout Athiest, He has support from many quaters, but the tabloids suggest he won because Atheists are now the 'Majority religion' (32% Non Belivers/Agnostics, 31% Christian, 23% Muslim 12% Animist 2% Other) many have complained that his irreligion breaks the constitutional rules on the seperation of church and state, fearing he will try and use his power to supress those with faith. However, he has a long history as a Civil Rights Lawyer, and is most famous for defending a students right to quote holy scripture in her yearbook, which her school censored.

The Alaskan state has been transformed into Dome cities connected by advanced Alaskan
transportation systems. From within the domes there are comfortable human temperatures(that
can be altered in certain areas) and a Virtual sky with cycles of day and night and day to
give the illusion of open spaces. These domes protect from the harsh cold outside and
protect from attack from enemy's.

Soldiers are enhanced to be adapt to the cold using biotech and cybernetics while still
allowing. Enhancements to deal with pain better, enhanced eyesight, enhanced attention,
overall better soldiers. Fast hover vehicles bypass the limitations of the terrain)
hover drop ships, hover bikes, hover transports, hover tanks) all fitted with Sonic and Gauss
weaponry. Infantry weaponry is also Sonic and gauss in nature, armored suits with electrical
based shields provide protection and temperature control while a battle HUD shows ammo, user
vitals and virtual sights.

Advanced Alaska civillian transport includes a Fast Monorail system, connecting all of
the domes in Alaska, cars can drive them selves and are equipped with accident avoidance systems.
Military transport as stated above consists of Hoverbikes, hover dropships, hovered transports
and hover tanks, the dropships are the only that can fly with this technology, the others will
rise a few feet above the ground, bypassing alot of friction.

Cybernetics allows for virtual reality systems, for entertainment purposes and soldier

Territory: Atlantic Canada, Coastal U.S. states down to Florida, all territory neighboring St. Lawrence basin.

History Formed in the late 21st century, The ATF started out as a grouping of trade unions in Atlantic Canada based in Halifax. Over time the spread out to Quebec Newfoundland and the Atlantic United States. Following the secession of Hawaii an d the quickly following coup in D.C., The leadership decided it was time to act. While the American Government was busy fighting the Free Cities, the Mexicans and the "whites" in the west, and the Canadian government warring with the newly-declared Quebec republic, a general Strike was declared.

Very quickly the civilian government in the Northern areas of influence, from Labrador to New York, was replaced with armed militias taking to the streets to ensure the safety of the striking workers (rather superfluously, considering the number of armaments among them). Very quickly peace was made with neighboring revolutionary factions with the President of Quebec, the Captain-governor of the Mexicans American dominions, and the Chicago Tribunate on behalf of the Free Cities, all signing non-aggression pacts. With the American whites having no way to get to them (Panama was repossessed by the Mexican Dominion shortly after the war began) and the American Central government obviously taking offense (Canadian had to let them go due to absence of military) and launching an offensive. The Striking workers were well prepared and the enemy commanders unwillingness to rain artillery fire down on the Industrialized cities decided it.

A vicious counter-offensive into the remainder of the American Atlantic coast combined with the loss of soldiers being keenly felt in the other wars brought the Genera staff in DC to the peace table, with all ATF gains being recognized.

Since then, the ATF has remodeled itself after syndicalist philosophy, with Syndicates arbitrating between different unions and filling any hoes in service. So far, it has manged not to transform into a dictatorship.

After decades of harsh rule under the South African Protectorate, the good people of South African and its surrounding neighbors decided they had enough of being overworked, overtaxed, and largely underfed. Sparse pockets of resistance sprang up in Botswana, Swaziland, and rural areas of South Africa, however the full on rebellion wasn't realized until the defection of Paulus Kruger, a high ranking official of the Protectorate government. Acting as the spiritual leader of the rebellion, Kruger and his comrades eventually managed to overthrow the Protectorate's regime and bring about an new era for the South Africans.

Kruger has been hard at work, essentially restructuring an entire nation. New agricultural and educational programs are being put into place to bring the living conditions of all South Africans up considerably, and changes have had noticeable effects only within a few years. This has endeared 'Uncle Kruger,' as many call him, with most of the citizens of the nations under his influence. So far, he has not accepted any foreign aid, insisting that his great people can fend for themselves and stand on their on feet. This combination of nationalistic pride and genuine sincerity has made Kruger one of the most popular African leaders in decades, and many in the international community keep a close eye on his activities. Time will tell what new changes this new government will bring about.

Important Officials:

Chancellor Paulus Kruger: The charismatic leader of the Afrikaan Confederation, his numerous reforms have made endeared him to almost all the population. A stout man with a bushy beard, he is rarely seen without a pipe.

Doctor Mina de Lannoy: Kruger's second-in-command, foreign diplomat, and humanitarian. A doctor of Agro-Economic studies from Oxford, she has helped formulate some of the most radical economic policies seen to date.

Field Marshal Erik Gustav Mannerheim: A dashing pilot hero of the Civil War, Mannerheim was instrumental in not only winning the war militarily, but also in convincing Kruger to join the side of the rebels. He is currently the commander-in-chief of the entire armed forces of the Confederation.

Director Henryk "Tex" Jameson: The head of the Confederation's gendarmerie. A relentless lawman, he personally goes into the field during large crime busts to oversee activity.

Strengths: Despite numerous obstacles, the people of the Confederation are strong and unified under their leader, and so far have been willing to accept sacrifices for the greater good. Due to the gendarmerie, crime has been drastically reduced from the days of the Protectorate, and citizens genuinely feel safer. Also, many of the Boer guerillas from the Civil War have been teaching the techniques of unconventional warfare to a new generation, so their ability to sniff out secret plots against the government is surprisingly good.

Weaknesses: Years of war and use of the military in civilian law enforcement has left the armed forces no shape for much battle. The economy is in rough shape, and many of the reform programs may take decades to come to fruition.

History: For about a hundred years, Madagascar disappeared off the political world map. However, it blew its way back on with a bang. Turns out, it had spent the last century developing massive super-lasers, robotic mechs, and turning the entire of Madagascar into a big frickin' airship. It blasted upwards, bathing France with laser fire and conquering with its mechs.

For the last fifteen-or-so years, New Madagascar practiced democracy with the other nations. Although visitors to the Madagascan Air Capital, now in geostationary orbit above the French Wastes, are politely turned away, the French Wastes have a thriving Trade and Tourism industry.

The French Wastes are also used to grow Sugarcorn, a delicious, nourishing crop, which along with cybernetic medicine (many citizens of New Madagascar have cybernetically enhanced limbs) are the country's main exports.
Sterngths: Heavily armed mobile capital, solid trade links, cybernetically-enhanced army with heavy laser weaponry, small elite mech force, great air force.

Weaknesses: No espionage network, small country, weak borders

Bozo: Jonny Scorpio, legal advisor to the throne, realised that if some kind of international authority ever rose, the ruler of New Madagascar would be culpible, for the murder of almost the entire population of France, so he employed a scapegoat. The king of New Madagascar is, in fact, an ape.

Jonny Scorpio: Officially, the legal advisor to the throne. Unofficially, the king. Cold, calculating, and ruthless. Due to cybernetics way beyond those publically available, he is 137 years old, and still kicking.

The G.E.C. Sea-Cities

History: The General Energy Corporation grew over the twenty-first century, and shortly into the second half began a secret project, culminating in 2078, when it launched the G.E.C. Sea-Cities.

The G.E.C. Sea-Cities is a fairly small nation, made up of two huge steel cities, linked by huge metal cables, which conduct solar power from the orbital city of Gascar (which is covered in solar panels) to the floating city of Madia.

Madia extracts hydrogen fuel from the polluted Atlantic seawater; Gascar produces solar energy. They have the market cornered in energy and fuel. They are both exclusively populated by the national guard, and the people who work the plants or the cooling (it's a city made of metal; even with the forcefields, it can get very hot) and their families.

Strengths: Formidable defences (due to the later points), very strong economy and links as the main provider of fuel and energy, good navy for fuel transport.

Weaknesses: No spies, no offensive force, small, average morale and tech.

Jonas Scarios: The man in charge of the trade part of the nation. He's the perfect merchant; Very intelligent, street-smart, and utterly, utterly ruthless.

Craig Portula: The current Guardian of the Two Cities (a cross-between a Prime Minister and a head of the National Guard. The three heads of the National Guard all run for Guardian, so the choice of Guardian would be a democracy, but also a strong-minded and physically strong figure). Khao, The Plain of Jars

History: The one time myriad nations of the Mekong River Delta, Khao, The Plain of Jars is named after the most well known and mysterious landmarks centered in the country known before the unification as Laos. What once was a group of communist bloc states slowly formed into a massive oligarchy, exporting medical and cosmetic supplies from the rich and untapped river delta. From the increased revenue and trade, the new formed country quickly expanded into India and its surrounding countries under the pretenses of “Humanitarian Aid”, when in fact it slowly replaced the ruling bodies with their own puppet governments. Slowly, the pretenses fell away, and the once separate nations filled for statehood with the Khoain government, a move that was quickly granted by the government despite political outcry from the other regional powers. The new formed government quickly latched onto local beliefs, forming a powerful Theocracy ruled by the largest minority populations.

With the added land, Khao continued to experiment with medical and genetic science, continuing to be in the forefront of the science scene. Behind closed doors and in deep shadows, the government slowly began work on genetically engineering their own soldiers with their eyes cast on the other regional powers. These soldiers are merely whispers to the local populous, but it is clear that Khao has slowly grown from a purely trade based confederacy of under-developed nations to a powerful young nation.

Strength’s: Khao boasts a large population, providing the government a wide variety of test subjects for their darker experiments. This has led to a powerful and genetically altered army. These soldiers are specifically bred for war, but have yet to be reliably fielded against large scale opponents. Tests have been conducted in the river delta in which the country slowly grew out from, all of which have shown promise. Tested soldiers have thus far been geneticly altered to resist disease, fatigue, and chemical warfare.

Weakness’s: Khao is a blend of native religion, science, and quickly growing city sprawl. These things combine to form a unique but greatly diverse population. This has sadly caused problems on the government level, causing even minor debates to last weeks, if not months. Mobilizing an army takes several heated and violent debates, and trade can slow to a crawl if other issues are still on the floor. Aside from political disputes, Khao lacks a large scale navy, owing to its late coming into the global scene. Most ships are built for trading and fast transit, and are lightly armed.

Leaders

Shegure Ma- Elected Head of the leading council of Khao. A middle aged man who before his election was a leading doctor in the region, he now controls the vast majority of the newly formed military. His hands are greatly tied by the rest of the council.

Hatin Shurit- Leading developer of genetic engeenering, Hatin Shurit commands vast political resources for continued attempts to design better soldiers, and medical products to trade to other countries.

The Crusaders are an ancient group. They have existed for a thousand years. Their sole aim is to wipe out all religions except Christianity. It was only under the rule of Barla Seville, 50 years ago, that they really started to gain power. He died in battle though, and now his son rules.

Their army, though small, consists entirely of powerful airborne mechs. They will attack non-Christian countries then sell their land to Christian ones. This is the only income they have, so they try to capture land as fast as possible.

They say they are doing the work of God, but most other countries, even Christian ones, despise them.

Strengths: Excellent military tech, great morale

Weaknesses: Internationally despised, small army, no espionage, unstable economy

Barla Seville II: The son of Barla I, and leader of the Crusaders. A kind, compassionate, thoughtful man… to other Christians.

History: In the turmoil of the last hundreds the few people to do well were the industrialists. Using their financial clout they were able to establish a union between the three main Scandinavian nations of the north, Norway, Sweden and Finland. They reshaped these nations into a new Hanseatic league.

Working with large businesses in surrounding nations the Nordic merchants were able to buy up large tracts of land and financial institutions and eventually bringing about business coup's of the civilian government and a political/business union with that of Scandinavia.

Following the initial acquisitions of Greenland and Iceland the industrial and technological base of this economic powerhouse became so great that the peoples of other nations became extremely willing to join in order to take part in the prosperity. Over the next dozen years the Baltic states soon fell under the control of the Nordic Union creating what is now recognized as the extent of the Union today.

Strength: Large Industrial Base - The union has a massive industrial base making them one of the largest if not largest economy in the world. Producing products from nails to massive ships the union is at the forefront of economic advancement and constantly searching for new products and new markets.

Important Persona:

Olaf Kielland: Olaf Kielland is a wealthy industrialist and head of the Chambers of Government. After years of running a shipbuilding corporation he was invited to join the Oligarical government and take part in deciding the direction of the nation. Following a decade of faithful service and the resignation of the previous president of the Chamber, Kielland was elected the new president. His current goals include the continued expansion of the Nordic League into new markets across the world and potentially into space.

General Gustav Rydberg: General Rydberg is the current head of the Chambers of the Military and is responsible for the organization of the small voluntary but highly trained Nordic Defense Forces.

Erik Fossum: Erik Fossum serves as the chief spymaster for the Nordic League. He has served with both the internal and external security bureaus for over 30 years before being put in charge of the League's Intelligence Agency that oversees both organizations.

Dr. Johan Nordhagen: The good Dr. Nordhagen leads the Chamber of Science which as the name suggests is responible for handling all government sanctioned research that is initiated by the state. Personally, Dr. Nordhagen is a gifted theoritical and practical phycisists.

In 2057, Brazil was engulfed in civil war, and split down the middle. North Brazil built up an army and fought it’s way north, meeting the USA coming south and forming the Brazilian Empire. South Brazil, meanwhile, took the diplomatic approach, forming the Southern American Republic States, an alliance of Brazil, Paraguay, Uraguay and Argentina.

The idea of URM is that they controll the roof of the world, himalayan plateau, african (ethiopean) highlands, andes mountrains, balkan highlands. His opponent squashed his move by countering it with her Bishop, then calling check. Kane growled and was put on the defense. Suddenly the words checkmate sounded in the room, and Kane sighed deeply.

"Because I'm smarter than you dearest" Isabel VanGoh said with a smile, and leaned in to give her husband a kiss.

"It's a metaphor for our wedding" Kane said sadly "I just can't outmanuever you"

Nokav, now a much older man, looks out unto the capital city of New Russia. The streets were clogged with people going on with their various businesses. Each not giving a damn for the person they just bumped into, or the beggar on the street corner.
How things had changed since they rebellion... Nokav sighed as he poured himself a glass of Arcadia Merlot, and sat down to manage the tenous finances of New Russia as both the head of state, and minister of commerce it was his job to handle his least favorite part of the organ cloning bussiness...

He had alot of people falling behind these days, and well... New Russia had a world market to run to keep it's citizens standard of living above that of paupers, because, after all what good is immortality if you have to spend it in squalor?

The Super Battleship General Winter entered the port of Haven. It was a massive ship, armed to the teeth, capable of taking on attacks from below, on, or above the sea. Only three Super Battleships in the entirety of the North Pole, this one was the Flagship of the SR Navy.

Admiral Laura Nimitz gestured for the crew to lock into the port. She turned to her Ex O., or executive officer, Colonel Cassandra VanGoh. The young woman, daughter of the count, had been determined to make her way to the top without relying on who her father was.

She had certainly made it, with her long black hair tied in a tight braid and her body in the white officer's uniform of the SR Navy. She was also the General Winter's Marine commander, and was the one who led boarding actions or repulsed them.

"What's the status on the docking?" The Admiral inquired

"Well Admiral" The younger woman walked over and leaned against the crisis table "I galvanized the men into action by telling them the faster they get done, the faster they get to be warm"

"Excellent, any problems?"

"No sir, Lieutenant Quincy had to break up a fight but nothing serious"

"Good, I'm going ashore, and I'm leaving her in your hands"

"Understood" And Cassandra turned and began to study a display.

Nimitz shrugged and exited the ship, pulling her heavy seaman's coat around her as she entered the freezing air. The ship was in a docking platform underneath the ice, underneath Haven, Capital city of the Southern Republic.

The Admiral and her escort of two marines moved to the nearest elevator, and once she was clear, rode it to the surface. The sight was amazing and she quickly stripped of her coat as the air was a temperate instead of freezing.

The city was beautiful, with a artifical sun blazing over the landscape. The city was built in layers with the merchant quarters near the bottom, residential in the middle, and corporate neare the top. The Palace and Senate were of course the highest in the city. Industrial areas were below the city, near the geothermal vents.

Haven was primarily of Italian structure, rather archaic with roman style columns and such. But other cultures were seen as well. The Corporate sector showed obvious signs of American culture, the residential sector had several houses more appropriate to Japan or Asia.

The Merchant's quarter was a mix between times square, a middle eastern bazaar, and a Italian market.

But the beauty was soon lost on her as she made her way to the Admiral's office... paperwork needed to be completed and she was the only one who could do it.

"He looks more and more like his father every day" Ella cooed over her son. The five year old's dark hair and complexion were indeed typical of a Scarret. He was playing amiably with his trucks while his mother talked to her sister, Eva. "His teacher says he's exceptionally bright." "I wish you'd spend more time with him." That was Eva speaking. "Oh, I do too, believe me. But I just can't - especially not now. It's just such a busy time..." "It's always a busy time. You're in government." "Yes. Yes, you're right. I should..." "Your Queenship?" This last comment spoken by Skye Fenton, the appointed Advisor of Medicine. "I was hoping we could speak about additional funding for Escot harvesting?" With a sigh Ella stood and joined the other woman. "Of course."

A man in a dark suit walks toward Nokav, holding a silver suitcase. He sits down at the table next to the esteemed leader of Russia and waives over a waiter.

"I would like a glass of coffie, please. And make it quick, silk suits dont exactly keep you warm in this weather" His mild french accent both shocks the waiter and hurries him to his work. French was a rarity ever since the Madagasgar bombings. This occurance worried Nokav and he rose to leave, but found his hand handcuffed to a chair.

"Now that I've gotten your attention, Mr. Representative, let us begin buisiness" Unlocking his suitcase, he withdrew a small box like those used to hold earrings. He flipped it open and inside was a little red button. "I'm positive that by now you have whispered into the wire in your ear to say that an unknown assailant has you held hostage, but rest assured that I am not here to harm you. I come to you with a buisiness proposition. "

The man stopped short for a few seconds as his coffie came, steaming hot.

"I can hear you attempting to whisper to your snipers to fire upon me, but be aware that their guns are deactivated and wired to a radio signaling device which will cause each of their most recently transplanted organs to explode. Not to mention the fact that I have a button here which will cause the gene sequencing databases of every plant within twenty miles to be destroyed, as well as setting of several tons of plastic explosives in each. Now, back to buisiness. I represent a company whose werabouts you may or may not know which is willing to hire your military to go to war with New Madagasgar. We are willing to pay you to the sum of two hundred billion pounds worth of stolen technology including, but not limited to: Lacerating Phase Rifles, Polycarbon fibre gel fabricating techniques, depleted uranium power, stealth satilite launch techniques and other such weaponry. As a show of good faith, I have a gift for you"

Withdrawing from his pocket a small card, the man stands up and turns toward Nokav. His face is now hidden by a Mardi Gras mask with a sun painted on it. He slides the card near the handcuffs and the slip off of the Representatives hand. Removing his glove and Nokavs, the man gives him a firm handshake, palming the card into Nokavs hand. Nokav looks at the card and sees that it is plain black, with a minute purple circle in the middle. In the center of that circle lies tiny white letters which read.

One Wish

"You'll no doubt be feeling very drowsy within a few seconds. I wish you all the best of luck."

The man turns around as Nokav suffers a serious gravity attack. The world spins around him, but he keeps his eyes focused on the man. The man picks up his suitcase and the button and walks away. With the last of his conciousness he sees the man press down....


...."Mr. Nokav...Mr.Nokav... It's time to wake up, Mr.Nokav"

"Where am I?"

"There was a terrorist attack made against you at the same time as several hospitals were attacked. Your men were killed outright and their bodies were irradiated to the point of being unidentifyable. Not to mention the fact that all units in your staff had their files wiped at the same time as the attacks occured. The damage to our databases was so severe that we were only able to salvage your and several other VIP sequences. For the next two weeks we will have to get people in the files again or they will die, perminantly.

On the side of the desk the card lies, now facing down. The sun on this side is white, and the writing is purple, it says:

Nokavs face goes pale and he looks again at the nurse

"Were there any witnesses to the attack?"

"All witnesses report is seeing you convulse on the floor as newscasts all began informing people of the organ bank wipe. We cant even rely on your witnessing because your body was pumped with several powerful narcotics and halucinogens"

Nokav picks the card up, flipping it around compulsively in his hands and wondering what he should do about this hidden entity.

Nokav nervously fiddles with the card, flipping it from side to side examining the artistry of the symbol, and the brutal threat that came with it.
How had he gotten in, and more importantly, how did he learn about the genetic sequence that he triggered in case of the need for The Night Surgeon? This was most worrying.... But, that was not important... What he needed was that money.. New Russia needed every euro cent that they could get...

But, first he needed to be assure that this wouldn't happen again.. He was a older man, and these sort of attacks only put his designer organs at risk.
He radioed his chief of security, and had him call up the Night Surgeon.

There was business to be done about this.

"One wish eh`? I'll take your job, but cross me once more, and you'll know why even my own people have come to fear the Night surgeon."

Nokav picked up his blue tooth phone, and called up a few favors. He was going to one of his compounds in Siberia, if his people wanted to do business he would need to see the contract in full.

He walked out of that hospital room smiling. Business was good in the land of mother Russia.

Im just posting this out there, The new British Empire, is the only ones with fusion generators. Read the history, they have been around for at best 20 years, and this is whilst most other countries were still building their basic fission generators. This is one of our main bonus's and I really want it to stay as the bonus, its not as awesome as most of the other ones so yeah.

He heads toward the space command bay, his ID checks out for routine repairs which were never ordered...

He walks toward a server and withdraws a small vile. Within said vile are several spider esque robots. He opens it and pours it on the main processor of the satilite tracking bay. The insects begin their work on cleverly editing files...

A spy satilite armed with several nuclear missiles is reported missing several days later. Janitor Edward Paltrey is deduced to have caused an errionious jettison, destroying millions of pounds worth of technology. At the same time, the spiders work to edit the orbit files and camera feeds of other satilites. They go so far as to even remove evidince of the satilites minute gravity, rendering it effectively invisible to reconissance...

The man walks back to a departing ship. During the flight a damaged escape pod is launched, headed toward the coast of Ireland...

Charlie Dimmock read the note which one of the civil servants, a boy about 19 doing his national service in the public sector, rather than the armed forces, had brought him.

He swore quietly, public opinion of the New British Empire wasn't as bad as some countries, particularly as the old colonial masters were the other side of the world, but if they tried to make a deal with them, there'd definately be some political backlash, 'Dealing with opressive goverments', was not a good way to get relected.

He brought up a vid screen.

'Jim, look... It's about this Trade deal.... Yes, I know, Fusion Plants.... Yes I realise what it could mean..... What do you mean? Really? I see.... Yes Governor.'

He called in his Private Secretary.

'Get me the Secure Channel to the New British Empire. State requirement, prepare the official press files, they'll want them as soon as the 3 weeks secrecy are up.'

Humphry Vasa, a fine example of you can take the man out of the marines, but you can't take the marine out of the man, his hair still crew cut, his trouser's pressed so sharp you could shave with them, is boots bulled mirror bright, if you didn't know to look, you wouldn't of been able to see his artificial legs (rumor was he kept a bottle of rum in one of them), despite the title, minister for war was not only concerned with military matters, and also delt with many foreign relations at the same time. Which was why he was the one opening diplomatic relations with the southern republics.

The Islands of the Ross Dependancy looked towards the prosperous hab domes of Antarctic, and while there was no talk of sucession, there was a desire for their technology, and as near neighbours, and especially in contrast to the despotic lands to the north, they were very popular.

With the Commonwealths surplus of raw materials, and the Republics advanced technology, things seemed ripe for a trade agreement. And with both Nations having advanced Navies, with the Commonwealths strength in numbers, but the Republics Strength in sheer power of ships, a Defense agreement also seemed a well advised prospect for both nations.

In many of the more advanced parts of the world, Newspapers were obsolite. But Scarret's small size made them practical, and so the papers endured. Today, the front page showed a woman. She was redheaded, busty, and looked like she'd be perfectly at home on a playboy centerfold. Or would, if it weren't for her stern demeanor - her hair back in a bun, deisgner glasses resting infront of her eyes, and a perfectly fitted pin stripped suit. She was Gabrielle Savie, Scarret's Advisor of Trade. In large letters at the top of the paper it said SCARRET MAKES BID ON ENGLISH FISSION GENERATOR and went on to discuss the fifty billion pound bid on just one of the gigantic machines - which, really, was all the small archipeligo would need.

"What? No, absolutely not. We can't have airline ticket prices going up that high!" "But sir, with the prices of energy going up..." Two men were sitting in the office of Tristan Dusette, Advisor of Transportation. Naturally, one of them was Tristan Dusette. The other was a CEO from Scarret Air, the Empire's premeir airline. "We've made a bid on a Fission Generator, to assist in powering your planes. In the more short term however, we can increase the subsdidy we're offering you. Come downstairs with me, and we can run some numbers."

Cooper Savannah
Cooper watched the video again - it was only 30 seconds long - and shook his head. "No, no. There isn't nearly enough ephmasis on the beach. That is a huge tourist pull, and you just rattle it off like an item on a list. I want sand and surf in every shot. Have some night time scenes as well - this is one of the few places you can still see the stars as night, so run with it." The pudgy man standing next to him nodded. They were working on a new commercial advertising vacations on Scarret. "Tourism is our life blood. We need to encourage it."

Somewhere in The Commonwealth Republic of the Aotearoa Peoples, a phone rings. it's a very important phone. A phone with a very secure line. It's a phone that connects to Charlie Dimmock. On the other end is a deep, masculine voice that introduces its self as Marcus Antonio, the Scarret Empire's Advisor of Trade. "We'd like to open up talks" it says "concerning some documents we have reason to believe you posses. Could we set up a meeting?"

Kane stood on a podium at Haven's docks, hands raised to a crowd of hispanic immigrants from South America. Political rivals and people simply fearing for their safety, fled on two ships, The Evita and The Brazilian Star.

"People of South America" Kane began in perfect Spanish "Welcome to Haven, Capital of the Southern Rebuplic. You have nothing to fear here, and you will quickly find a place. I, Count Kane VanGoh, promise you" he sighed "But before you can you have to each be examined for disease and interviewed for both of our safety."

The grumbling from the crowd wasn't very hearted, they had expected as much.

The lines were slow, as they always were. Agents of the People's Security and Soldiers of the Bulwark kept the lines going as swiftly as possible. People were examined by doctors and vaccinated, free of charge. Each one had to produce papers, or complete a full interview.

As anyone is "passed" they get probationary SR citezanship papers and sent to wait for friends and family so housing can be assigned until they can afford better homes.

She smirked slightly, she loved her job, so much power. She could turn away anyone. But she didn't and beckoned the next immagrant "Name and Profession?"

Charlie's tone was jovial. Save that he was reminding Marcus of facts common knowledge to both nations, reminding him of their mutual history, and the Empire's specific need.

'Indeed, I think a meeting can be set up...' Charlie's smile was predatory, sharklike, though his voice still warm.

General Stuff Now thats done.

At a radar station in Bletchley Park;

"Theres an escape pod coming down near the coast of Ireland. Its trajectory is far too low and fast, it must be damaged." The voice comes from a barely twenty second lieutenant based at the radar tracking centre for spacial and stratospheric aircraft.

Immediatley striding over is a young twenty-something major. Yet the strange thing is she is female. Opening up a vidi-link to a Captain in a tight fitted black body-armour suit she speaks.

"Damage Control Team Gamma, move in - track that pod, I want whoever is inside detained. If it prooves to be innocent we can return them, otherwise we might have some questions. You never know this could be an infiltration attempt."

"Yes ma'am" crackles the voice back over the other end of the vidi-link.

With that the team suits up and within minutes is near the expected crash site. Right on que the pot twinkles into view and plunges to the earth digging a deep furrow into the ground as it slides to a hald barely 50 metres from the water. Setting up in defensive positions around it the Damage Control Team waits for what happens next as heavy artillery localises the exact co-ordinates just in case contact is lost with the team.

In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and the skies above it

Later that night, a stealth Lockhead A class flew over the floating city of Madia. They were not expecting to come under attack, and especially not from such a small highly trained group. But it happened. The stealth jet dropped its highly precious cargo of 8 small poly-ethene based bubbles, and before anyone knew, it was gone, flying off at Mach 8, the only registration it had been there being the sonic boom as it went super sonic.

The GEC defence system was useless, it wasn't programmed to register these, all that would be seen was an absence of anything in the specific area the bubbles were. But with it being such a small area, noting was noticed.

At around 13000 ft the bubbles opened and small humanoids emerged dressed in jet black body suits. As they spread into a bat-like position, their small directional parachutes opened and guided them in. As the first landed, a sentry thought he heard a noise, but as he turned to issue a challenge he found a small knife in his throat. Opening his mouth to scream he couldn't the neuro-toxin already having killed his nervous functions.

Several other sentries were dispatched without so much as a single sound except for the thump of the bodies hitting the ocean as the Special Operatives dumped them over the side.

Knowing the need for speed they rushed to where all the main pipes pumped fuel to the rest of the world. With 8 blocks of high explosives planted, the leader of the team planted a special beacon. It was simply a fail safe, but if the beacon wasn't destroyed - it meant the pipes survived. A small Mk 4 nuclear missile would be launched from a submarine, completley untraceable, but so fast defence systems had to know it was coming to stop it. On the off-chance the GEC would get lucky, it had Steel Republic markings on it anyway.

Turning the energy shields on the team dived into the water of the Atlantic Ocean, pulled on their power flippers and set off for the 15 minute swim back to friendly land.

5 minutes out, the leader flipped a switch, and by god you should've seen the explosion. Even the Crusaders would've been proud. A huge fireball lit the sky, gas burning away, and the team only just out of the reach of it as they were.

It appeared that the beacon wouldn't be needed.

And anyone needing energy would be coming back to Britain.

The leader thought as he swam away;

I can definately agree to the fish for fission trade. Consider that done. However, as a Country which sits in armed neutrality, We cannot consider a Foreign war of conquest.



If the MOTUI attacked us, we would of course defend ourselves. But even then we are unlikely to conquer. Of course, if the Island Nations (everything west say of Taiwan) declared for us, and petitioned to join and escape from the Evil tyranny of the MOTUI, and the old British Colonies like Singapore and Malaysia, their holdings in india declared a wish to return to their 'commonwealth' with the new british empire. Then I think the public support for such a campain would make it inevitable. We would of course support your claims in fighting the evil and tyranous MOTUI, (oh, the Maldives would be nice to have).

It is the middle of the night. Rain pours down over the cliffs of Ireland. A group of twenty men walks toward a downed escape pod, Electron Rifles in hand. The pod opens up and a black clad man walks out, the lights of the inner cabin illuminating his back and making his shadow ten stories tall. In his right hand he holds an English made laser pistol. He looks around at the troops surrounding him.

"I suggest you put down your weapons, men. If you don't you all will die."

"Prepare to fire, men" The captain says in a gruff tone.

"I think not." Retorts the black clad man as he whips is pistol up and begins firing. His shots pierce three men, each of which collapses and has smoldering holes in them. Then the snipers fire, each one shoots a high power killing round at him all of which go straight through him. The electromagnetic waves from the rifles cause the hologram to flicker, making both the man and the snipers he shot waiver for a short second. High pitched beeps are heard before an EMP goes off, depowering every device in three miles. The men have no light and their night vision goggles aren't functioning. They cannot even signal back to base. As far as any outside viewer is concerned, the men are destroyed along with the east side of Dublin.

Back at base the woman stands before a monitor, pacing back and forth.

"So far as we can tell he used a mundane explosive to destroy the team and half of Dublin. Our satellites were deactivated by him at the same time, so we can't get any sort of picture of the damages, but if you fired misiles right now we might be able to get a lock on him and maybe snap a couple photos."


Her hand waivers toward a button in a glass case, she flips the case up and down a couple of times. She seems lost in thought...

The video shows marching soldiers in their burgundy suits, crisp and clear they march in escort, and are met and saluted by the equally profession General's Own. The commentator describes the scene... "There, the General's own, handpicked every year from the best new recruits undertaking their service, they part, and there's old Jim Haka, in Traditional Maori attire, greets the Queen's ministers, and yes, coming out of the limousine is the Queen, this is the first state visit of the Scarrett Empire to the Commonwealth, and it promises great ties, for a stronger future for both our nations."

The Governor General's Residence, Government House, is a fairly grand building in White Paint and Red Tile. The Honorable James Haka fits in a lot more when he's changed out of the traditional Maori Costume he wears for state occasions, but he still manages to look dignified and statesman like, even in a Knee Length Kilt and a cloak.

Jim Haka's voice is a rich Bass, with the strong tone and accent of Maori, now tinged with an almost sad tone.

'Fellow Citizens, People of the Commonwealth, I have an Important Announcement to make. For sometime. There have been rumors. Significant rumors about the Virus which scarred our past. Many of Us remember those Dark Days, and the events following.

It is an event during those times which I must talk to you about today. The Virus that Decimated Our Nation was engineered and designed by scientists within our nation. But Not all of them were privy to the dark designs their research was put to.

During those days, I was privileged to know one of them. He was responsible for the destruction of the research labs, and it was he that established the accepted truth, that the research was nothing unusual.

This was the Established Truth.

He also took with him the essential research that was unusual. For nearly 50 years, since he entrusted them to me, I have kept them secret. But, there have always been rumors.

These Rumors were sufficient that the Scarett Empire's current state visit has expressly been with the intention to discuss this research.

Which is why I am making this statement. Over the Past week we have been discussing a Treaty, the signing of which would form a greater alliance between our nations. An Alliance which would bring us greater and much cheaper medicine, establish a military and research station in the far reaches of our great commonwealth.

Soldiers of our nation would Guard it, the finest of our scientists would work on it, in concert with the best of our fellow polynesian nation.

However, the Scientist who intrusted it to me knew it was dangerous, this was the cause of much death and destruction.
