Darkness. The unmoving void of nothingness, spanning infinity in every direction... Timeless ages have passed, all in the blink of an eye. No memories, no awareness, nothing. There is no way to measure anything here, and there is nothing that would do it anyway...

Then, a flicker. A small speck of light, appearing from the infinite blackness. Blue light, rushing towards you faster and faster... And now there is a 'you'. The general recognizes his own existance for the very first time. The speck of light is now filling his whole vision...

The General awakens in the laboratory room. His consciousness is heightened, he is more powerful than before. The memories he retains from his past life are barely audible in the flood of information that awakens his senses from their period of inactivity. In moments after his awakening, his mind takes over the nearby machinery. He rips out all the restraints in place and stands up.

Alive. I am alive! The general shouts out. Then he notices the other people present...

"Sir, Zergs have taken over the western perimeter, our air force has been destroyed by a freak out of season hurricane, our naval units were eaten by Cthulhu, and the road out of here is blocked by fallen rocks which I believe killed one of my former lovers, Sir."

The enemy armadas arrive from the sea, taking to land if capable of it. Their air force ravages anything out in the open and there's nothing opposing them. Ground units flood in from every direction and thousands of soldiers and civilians alike are cut down where they stand. The main production facilities are managing to hold, for now, owing to their massive defensive emplacements but the artillery positions are overrun, the resource production is almost paralyzed and the main capital is under siege.
